Have to say that the service here is amazing! The staff checks in on you and love to have casual conversations too. Felt very home-y, and gave off small town vibes. We unknowingly came on a night where they had live music in the back room, and it was awesome, it totally lifted the energy. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich and it was way better than I expected, I loved that there was a lot of Chipotle Mayo on it! Obviously the beer was nice as well, I liked that there were several options and sizes to choose from. I will say there wasn't much/if at all any parking in front of the brewery, so you need to park at one of the nearby garages. Would definitely visit again when I'm in the Silver Spring area! read more

Was in DTSS last night and on a whim decided to google a good place to get a beer. THBC came highly recommended on Reddit so I opted to try it. 10/10 would recommend. Parking is kind of inconvenient but that's not their fault. It's a feature of DTSS. The bartender was friendly and just a delight. I came here to meet up with some friends after work. Happy hour is on weekdays from 4-6pm - you can get $1 off draft full pours and $2 off most apps and flatbreads. It's a seat yourself kind of place with a casual ambiance, and all orders are placed at the bar. There's also outdoor seating when the weather is nice. Music was playing in the background for a lively atmosphere. There's a few arcade games in the back and a selection of board games to choose from to have a game night. They have a self-serve water dispenser in the corner by their merch section; they sell shirts and you can also get select beers to go. While their website only lists their local brew selection, they do have bar food available. A basket of kettle chips is $1.50, which is a steal! Prices were reasonable; all food items were no more than $15. I ordered the nachos ($11) and added a side of guacamole ($2 upcharge). In terms of portion size, it was a generous platter of nachos - great for sharing - but it was light on the toppings and resulted in lots of plain chips on the bottom. For a dish called "Ultimate Nachos," I was hoping it would be more loaded. They also used a shredded cheddar cheese which they melted on top; some liquid beer cheese would've elevated the nachos. Service was low key but great overall. On a Wednesday night, there was only one bartender working the bar, but it wasn't crowded so one was sufficient with minimal wait. There was another staff member in the kitchen making the food and delivering it to the tables. We had a large group and they checked on us a few times to clear dishes. Towards the end of the night, the bartender also notified us of last call. Overall, Third Hill Brewing was a nice impromptu meet-up spot for our large group. read more

Overall, it was a good experience. Went here today for their beach party event. The weather was beautiful so we really appreciated the open windows in the front of the brewery. Staff took our orders for drinks very quickly. We came towards the beginning of the event so there weren't a lot of people there, but it was enough. I'm not a beer drinker but my partner had the Remix sour and loved it. The food was just okay. I ordered a chicken wrap, which also included pieces of avocado. I'd definitely come here again, just for the atmosphere. Parking is a bit challenging so if you decide to visit try to come early for street parking. read more

Inviting space, very chill but attentive service. The menu has more extensive options for IPAs but anyone who drinks beer shouldn't be surprised by that. I like darker, maltier beers and enjoyed the "Undercover Lover", including the name. The marzen was smooth and, as the menu says, bready. It's a tall boy, so you will get to share or quench thoroughly. The food is okay. We had a mix of things because our group hung around and played games at one of the long tables for a few hours. The pesto flatbread was yummy. Mozzarella sticks were thick and crunchy. I would skip the nachos, though, as they were a little light on cheese and toppings. read more

But hope it's here to stay because the vibe was great. The space has outdoor space but is spacious throughout and is dog-friendly. The drinks were nice but was slightly disappointed with the food. I ordered the buffalo chicken flatbread and the portion was excellent but the buffalo sauce (which wasn't spicy at all) was overpowered by the amount of cheese and ranch. This review is strictly a commentary on the beer, vibe and service. The only food I had here was nachos so not sure I can give much input on food. The vibe was chill and casual comfy. We came here on a Saturday night. Closing was at 10 but the staff stuck around and let us finish our beer U til 1030. It was simple and clean inside with a whole rack of board games. The vibe also gave indoor/outdoor energy which is going to a whole mood in the summer. The beer options are great. I am a hazy IPA drinker and so that what's I tasted but I will be back to try more. Most importantly, I cannot say enough about how friendly and attentive the staff was here. They struck up conversation were warm and chatty in the best ways possible. Checked out the new Third Hill Brewing Company at the site of our beloved Astro Lab Brewing on opening day last Friday and they totally knocked it out of the park with all their beers! The staff and owner are all extremely friendly and knowledgable about beer. My wife and I took all four beers they have in cans home as we gave them 5s on Untappd. The atmosphere is amazing and similar to Astro Lab. They do not have a kitchen menu yet but have local vendors borrow the kitchen. Opening day was a they had a Cuban vendor and we tried chicken empanadas which we loved. We look forward to coming back when new beers are released, new vendors come in, when their kitchen menu debuts, and with our friends on my birthday for a Silver Spring beer crawl. read more

I thought Third Hill Brewing had a wonderful selections of draft beers at decent prices. Also, I was very pleased by the selections of IPAs (my personal go-to). This spot has a happy hour on weekdays (from 4-6 pm, I thiiiink) where you can receive $1 off of drafts and about $2 off of select items on the menu. Like most breweries, the place is pretty causal with plenty of seating and general vibes. In addition to the massive selection of brews, Third Hill Brewing has a nice selection of board and card games to keep you and your crew company. The only (minor) drawback: I visited during a local running meet up (I think it was on a Tuesday or Thursday), so it took about 30-45 minutes to order a beer. For a large chunk of the service, there was only one person working, which probably caused the "long" wait. However, things moved a bit faster once a second bartender arrived and members of the running group started to leave. Other than that minor hiccup, I would gladly add Third Hill Brewing to my Silver Spring beer spots. read more

Checked out this new brewery in the Silver Spring area. My husband had a Helles Lager and I had a Fun Time Seltzer - Key Lime Pineapple Hard Seltzer, it was delicious! The brewery has various board games to choose from and a lot of indoor and outdoor seating area. Great music too! The serves are very nice and everyone makes you feel welcomed! We stopped in for a few beers today and were really impressed and pleasantly surprised! Third Hill has been open about a month now and took over Astro Lab. If you had ever been there- it looks very similar and still had the games and outside area out front and on the side. The owner made some suggestions for a tasting and he was spot on! Their beers are AWESOME and I really enjoyed the Berliner Weiss and the Mallory's Happy Juice- but I enjoyed them all! Can I also just say that the owner/bartender, Jason, was super nice and chatty- which I love! Ask him about his beers, love of music or his wife :). We were able to sneak a peek at their menu which should be coming in soon- and it looks spectacular! I am really rooting for a great success here- and we'll most definitely be back for a visit soon. Park in the lot- it's just easier and DONT park in the patient first lot next door- they will tow! Dog friendly outside. read more

Great service, awesome atmosphere and delicious food. Everything you look for when you go to a brewery. Lots of great beers on tap and a wide selection of cans to take with you if you find the one you love. We ordered a Burger, Chicken Caesar wrap, a steak wrap, Rueben pretzel and nachos. Food was great, super quick and reasonably priced, everything under $15! Family friendly atmosphere with board games and a book shelf loaded with books. The owner has a passion for his business, we watched as he stopped by to visit with most patrons. Similar vibe to astro lab, they've just opened so only seven beers to chose from at this point. Hoping there's more to come in the future! Tried the Hefeweizen and an amber ale, both were a bit more hoppy than I'd expect. The bartender was very nice and I love the third hill branded glasses. From the ashes of Astro Lab came Third Hill. For anyone hesitating, the beer selection is larger and more accommodating to non-IPA drinkers (although fear not, for those of you that like pine- flavored beer, they still have you very well covered). They even have Berliner Weisse, prefect sour beer not too bitter, not too sour, just right :) and a pretty good lagers. The spot is not huge, but imo that gives it a cozier ambiance (despite being pretty bright in there). Something else I love is that every Tuesday at 6 pm, they have a pub run, which does 3 or 5 mile jogs starting from the pub and ending at the pub with discounted beers. The best excuse to pour one is having just finished a nice jog! read more

Excellent choice! 6pm on a Monday so it was very slow but the bartender and folks at the bar all friendly and welcoming. Nice beer selection. I like IPAs, my wife likes sours. Berliner Weisse was an excellent sour. I sampled 3 IPAs. All solid. Nicest surprise was the food. We had a hamburger and turkey/avacado sandwich. Both were great. Nothing fancy, they come with kettle chips and pickle. Been to many brew pubs that overdue their food menu and have a big selection of bleh. This is the opposite. Wings, nachos, a few sandwiches. An awesome replacement for the sadly departed Astro Lab! We stopped in for dinner tonight and had a couple of excellent sandwiches, highly recommend the tri tip sandwich and my wife enjoyed her club, with a tasty Irish Red Ale and a rose. Everyone was super friendly and made us feel welcome. We had a four legged friend with us so we sat outside, but with the big bay doors, the indoors was just as comfortable. The food was delicious. For us, the highlights were the wings, the pretzel, and the grilled chicken sandwich. I am not a beer person but Danielle recommended the yummiest IPA I've ever tasted. The ambiance is incredible and very family-friendly. My younger brothers had a blast playing uno with us.
