I had a deeply disappointing experience with Saria's Tailoring in Lakewood, Colorado. I brought in my engagement party dress for a rush alteration, fully understanding the short turnaround time. I paid the rush fee, plus an additional $20, because I knew completing the work within two weeks was a significant request. When I returned to pick up the dress, it was in far worse condition than when I dropped it off. The hem was completely uneven, with the back noticeably shorter than the front, making the dress unwearable for my event. I calmly brought my concerns to the owner, hoping we could find a solution. Instead, I was met with yelling, a refusal to issue any refund, and an overall lack of professionalism. Even other customers in the store commented that the dress looked uneven and poorly altered. The owner ultimately told me never to come back, stating that too much labor had gone into the dress to offer a refund. Paying over $200 for alterations only to receive a dress in worse condition than when I brought it in was incredibly disappointing. Thankfully, I took the dress to Erol's in Cherry Creek, where they were able to correct the alterations. They even offered me a discounted rate after seeing what they described as the poor quality of the previous work. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I believe others should be aware of my experience. If you're having something important altered--especially for a special occasion--I would strongly encourage you to consider another tailor. read more

Fantastic job hemming and taking in a beaded dress, when I tried it on at pick up I snagged it with my ring pulling out several rows of beads and Saira fixed it. My husband and I brought in a few things things to have hemmed and altered. I brought in a dress to get hemmed and it turned out great! He brought in a few suit jackets that needed to be brought in and sleeves shortened. Needless to say they turned out terrible. The sleeves were uneven and nothing fit properly. I have had a hard time finding a tailor who I trust, and I feel won't rip me off. I have had a few bad experiences in the past....until I found Saira's Tailoring Boutique! I stopped in to get 2 dresses altered for an upcoming wedding. One of them was a simple alteration to take in the top of a dress, and I was quoted a very reasonable price. The second dress required much more extensive alterations, and she was very patient with me pinning the dress to show me what the alterations would look like, and giving me a quote on what something like that would cost. It ended up costing more than the total of what I paid for the dress, only because it was a lot of alterations and not because the price was unfair. She was very kind and allowed me to think about if I wanted to alter the dress or not, and I chose not to and will be returning the dress instead. In the past I have had tailors charge me for pinning a dress with no alterations, so I really appreciate how she handled this quote for me. I picked up the one dress I had altered and it was a perfect fit. I will definitely be going back, and telling everyone about it! read more

11/10 would recommend. I was very worried when trying to find a new tailor that was both skilled and not too expensive. Since moving out to Colorado three years ago, I have had one garment altered that was very simple and very expensive. A few weeks ago, I came in to Saira's Tailoring Boutique with a jumpsuit that not only needed to have some length added to it, but also needed to be taken in a good bit and have the pockets adjusted-- bottom line, it was not a simple job. I was greeted with warmth and honesty, and I felt very safe with the Covid precautions that were being taken while inside the space. Saira said she first wanted to add the length and take it in, then have me come it to make sure it fit how I wanted it to before finishing up with the rest of the stitching and narrowing the pockets. I was very pleased with the progress when I returned after the first week, and when I came back a week later to try on the finished product I was blown away! It was above and beyond my expectations, the fit was perfect and neat, and the price was just right. My favorite part of the entire experience though was how genuinely pleased Saira was with my excitement over the finished product. It means so much that someone not only wants to ensure that their work is top quality, but also that you can see and feel the pure joy they have from going above and beyond for their customer. From what I overheard once, you can also get a brides maids dress altered for almost $100. So I'm mostly vouching for the boys in this review. I love this place because I had never been in prior to getting one of the most important pieces of my life altered, My wedding dress! I came in here not knowing what to expect, the place is a little run down inside but the customer service made up for it. The lady at the cash wrap was so sweet, I think it's a one woman workforce as I never saw any other workers. She helped me get in my massive wedding dress, commented several times on how beautiful it was and how I looked. We went over in detail what she was going to do and she gave me a 3 week time frame on it being done. She was fast and efficient. On my last visit in for more alterations she showed me how to do the bussel and what she fixed. Again she complimented my beautiful dress and myself. I knew that places like David's Bridal were going to not only be expensive, but also have a lengthy wait time due to high demand. I found Saira's on yelp, so decided to try it. I went in on my lunch break and the woman in the store was able to see me right away. I felt like the price was reasonable ($78) for the amount that needed to be taken off the bottom, the multiple layers of fabric that needed to be cut, and the timeframe. The owner is so friendly! She does a wonderful job on all my clothing! She did a great job with my bustle on my wedding dress, the straps and getting the length shortened. I have taken in jackets with pockets that need to be sewn, pants that are too long, sweaters with huge holes, and a tote bag that my dog chewed on. She did a wonderful job on all of it. I couldn't even tell where the issue was before. Her pricing is great too! I have been to other tailors that charge about the same price for two articles of clothing that she'll charge for working on about 5 things. Now she is the only tailor I like going to.
