I was very excited to work with this company on my bridesmaid dress and jeans. when I was at the first fitting, I felt confident that we were on the same page, my dress would be dragging barefoot and you would not see my shoes when on, and my jeans also dragging even wearing some shoes. I was extremely disappointed in paying $106 for the hem on my dress alone for it to be 1/2+ inch shorter than I wanted. and my jeans will only be good in flats (no boots and these were my everyday riding jeans). I was fought with saying they did everything right to what I wanted and that this was basically my fault. Lesson learned that you ought to tell them you want it longer than you want it so they don't blame you and ruin your clothes. I was originally picking the clothing up on a Saturday (the only day I have off that works with their schedule), but then a week before was called to ask if I could come in on Thursday or Friday. I was traveling and could only come in Friday after hours, which the owner was fine with. when I expressed my issue and disappointment with the gem she tries to use the fact that she stayed for me as a point somehow? If the date I originally provided was not suitable, I should have been told the day of. I appreciated her attempt to steam my dress to make it longer and for staying later to allow me to get my belongings, but I have lost my trust in this business, especially for the price they have a standard (one layer hem). read more

I have been SO impressed with the level of service alterations plus delivered. In spite of Covid and the fact that they had some issues with delaying the project due to illness they delivered an absolute beautiful product to me! I had some slip covers custom-made for some very old couches that I love. I have been going back-and-forth on how to handle it for years. I didn't want to buy new couches but they definitely needed something new to brighten them up. Marta it was excellent and her communication with me and keeping me posted on the time frame on the slip covers. It was a big project and took longer than expected but I definitely had patients and it was well worth it. I had a terrible experience here. I went to Altar Bridal to buy my wedding dress. I fell in love with this strapless dress but wanted straps added. Maureen convinced me that these alteration ladies next door (Alterations Plus) could add straps and make it the dress of my dreams. I worked with Marta and Bianca at Alterations Plus. When I went in for my first appointment, the dress zipped up and fit me perfectly except for the bust and the hem. They pinned the dress on the sides and around the bust. I didn't have my shoes yet so we waited on the hem. For my second appointment, the dress didn't fit me. It was too small to zip up. They accused me of gaining weight (which I hadn't). What happened was they had taken the dress in too much on the sides so it wouldn't zip in the back. They told me they could let it out but also told me to lose some weight. They measured with my shoes to do the hem, pinned more around the bust (because it still didn't fit well), and started to add the straps. For my third and final visit, absolutely nothing had been done. This was six weeks before my wedding. In addition to nothing being done, they told me now that there wasn't enough fabric to take the dress out. They suggested doing a corset (which I hate the look of). Also, there was damage on the dress - a lot of the lace was pilling because of how careless they were in storing it. This was SIX WEEKS before my wedding. They also again accused me of gaining weight. Altar Bridal gave us a refund for the alterations and after many negotiations and conversations eventually gave us a refund on the dress. These ladies were unprofessional and very rude. I don't even know if they know how to altar a dress. It made my dress buying experience terrible, and I had to find a new dress six weeks before my wedding. I highly recommend you avoid this business as you will probably regret it. If I could give them zero stars, I would have. read more

All I have to say is these 2 ladies did a wonderful job on my wedding dress!. Martha and Blanca worked her magic and made my wedding dress fit like a glove! At first I was nervous because I didnt think they would have enough time to alter my dress with such short notice. Due to Covid, all my wedding plans plummeted but Marth and Blanca came through for me, AND they were both still recovering from the virus too!. They were way more affordable for wedding alterations than a few other places I called too. With the help of Bianca daughter and Chero (their fearless dog) they exceeded my expectations with the alterations. Definitely would recommend, you won't be disappointed. read more

My daughters wedding dress was perfectly fitted and bussled, and my other daughters dess was fitted perfectly. The other bridesmaid's dress too was fixed to fit her pregnant form. More importantly, these ladies worked until everything was perfect, with more than a smile. The pricing is below what they should charge, and even sent us off with a gift. If I could give it no stars, I would. This place had my friends pants for a whole week for a concert. We scheduled to pick them up at 2pm the day of the concert, we went at 3pm and they said they haven't even started. We told them we need them now and they said we could come back at 4:30pm and the green ones will for sure be done. We came to pick them up, had to wait 30 whole minutes (the concert was 45 mins away and started in less than an hour). Then they came out and gave us the wrong pair of pants. Don't let their modest little shop fool you, this place does top notch work! I don't usually need much altered, but the few times that I have, they have done a great job! Several years ago I needed my bridesmaids dress for my sister's wedding altered. Anyone that has ever bought a bridesmaids dress knows how weird the sizes are; you have to order a dress that is usually too large to accommodate some part of your body that is, according to the designer, out proportion to the rest of your body. In my case, I had to buy a dress two sizes too large to accommodate by chest. Low and behold, the dress looked like a sack on me. We took it to Alterations Plus since it was just down the road from my parent's house and my mom had heard good things about them. They took my sack-like dress and made it fit perfectly!!! It was exactly what I had imaged the dress to look like! They made the dress fit so perfectly, that years later (and 15 pounds heavier) I actually have issues getting back into the dress! Last summer when I got married, I was lucky enough to get a dress that actually didn't need any alterations. The only thing that I needed done was to have the train bustled. Since the alteration people at the bridal shop only had a packaged deal for all alterations costing $200, it wasn't worth it to just get the dress bustled there. Since we were so happy with their previous work and the location to my parent's convenient, we took my dress to Alterations Plus and they bustled it for only $50! They took their time to make sure the length was right and that the layers matched up. In the end, the bustling looked great and went perfect with my dress's style! read more

Great little place. Friendly staff. Clean work. Good place for first responder uniforms, law enforcement personnel. I had five shirts hemmed (+ 4 patches sewn). Cost me $142. On another occasion, I had six patches sewn. Cost me $25. Kind of gives you an idea of the cost. I'll definitely be going back. read more

I was in a desperate situation as I needed my daughter's long gown to be hemmed in a 24 hour period! We were to head out of town for my nephew's formal wedding in just 2 days. I left a message on their website on Labor Day and within just a couple of hours, Carolina responded and set up a time for my daughter to come in the following day. They did a beautiful job with hemming the dress and had it ready for me within 24 hours. They were professional, kind and extremely accommodating...and wonderful seamstresses! Do not... I repeat DO NOT go here for wedding dress alterations. Their website makes it look like they do wedding dresses all the time, so I took mine here. The dress had sleeves that wouldn't allow me to move my arms. They assured me they knew what to do. When I went for my last fitting I still couldn't move in the dress. I was mortified. My wedding was only 2 weeks away and most alterations take months. I paid 500$ for them to ruin my dress. Do not go here if you need anything more than a pair of pants being shortened! read more

They are a little pricey, but worth it, since I no longer have the time nor the inclination to do the sewing myself. Unfortunately, I did not have a great experience here. I had a cotton strapless top, and I wanted to have removable spaghetti straps added. I expected to get something similar to what you get when you buy a dress that has removable spaghetti straps - little straps with a flat hook on both ends, and tiny loops on the piece of clothing that the flat hook fits into (much the same as with strapless bra straps). I sew myself, so I'm not entirely ignorant when it comes to knowing when something is sewn well versus badly. I just don't have the time to do sewing projects myself. When I received the top back, I was a bit shocked that so many things were wrong with the quality. 1) the top consists of a corset covered by a loose fabric overlay. The strap should have been sewn to the corset, since the overlay is too loose to hold any weight and the structure of the top is in the corset, not the overlay. Instead, the loop was sewn into the loose overlay; wearing the straps like this would rip the overlay material very quickly. 2) the spaghetti straps were left with raw ends - they just cut the straps but didn't bother to turn them in and sew them to prevent fraying. 3) Instead of using a flat hook like those used on bra straps or what you get when you buy a dress with removable straps, they used a "hook and eye" style hook, which is not flat, tends to move around, and itches like crazy against bare skin. I thought about taking it back and asking them to redo it, but seeing as how the quality was poor the first time, I decided it was a $20 learning experience. I undid their work and I plan to take the top somewhere else. I give them two stars because despite the issues above, they were extremely nice and the price would have been good had the quality been better. read more

In August 2016, I brought a bridesmaid dress in to be hemmed. The dress was bought online and tried on at home and then kept in its original bag. During the fitting, I had a great time with the seamstress who was very nice. During the fitting, no flaws in the dress were seen by me or the seamstress. However, when I picked up my dress a week later, I pulled the dress out of the plastic garment bag (I had provided) and immediately saw multiple snags in the top layer of material. The hem was fine, but the material was ruined in multiple spots. The seamstress refused to take any accountability for the snags. She said that it had to have been like that when I brought it in because there is no way for her to snag it in their shop. She said that I didn't notice the snags before because the dress was wrinkled. So now I am out $55 for the hemming, $180 for the dress that looks like crap, and a month to figure out if I can find another dress and have it altered. read more

These ladies have made me a very happy bride-to-be. I found a beautiful wedding dress at a thrift store and assumed I would need the zipper replaced with a corset because I couldn't zip it up all the way. I was a bit bummed about that because the zipper was button-lined, and I'm not a fan of corsets on a wedding dress. The ladies here were able to let out the sides and after a couple other suggested alterations, the dress fits wonderfully! I had 4 pants measured and hemmed .... all super short by one inch. Also the stich on one of the pairs partially came out on the first wear. When I brought them back to be corrected, they charged me again! Because I was in a bind I had them fix 2 out of the 4.... the other 2 I will find someone more competent. ... so essentially $100 for 4 pants to be hemmed. NOT HAPPY read more

I have used Alterations Plus now for over 6 years and take about 10 garment pieces per year to them to alterate. Some of these pieces are fairly complicated to alterate (e.g. heavy ski wear) and yet Alterations Plus has always done a great job on all of my clothes and converted my alteration wishes into practice. I would HIGHLY recommend 'Alterations Plus'. They are located on the North side of Chatfield, just WEST OF KIPLING, next to the GARLIC KNOT! Blanca, the Owner does not speak English too well, but Martha does. They have owned the Shop for 19? years. They were able to alter my GRANDMOTHER'S WEDDING DRESS that was 104 years old that I wore in June for my wedding. They are VERY CREATIVE!....then ended keeping some of the material that I asked them to keep to make a 'keepsake' ring bearer pillow for me as a surprise gift for me! That in itself showed me how Compassion they were in wanting to respect the fact that this was a 104 year old wedding gown that was only worn by my Grandmother....a lady that died when I was 4 years old and only remember of seeing 1 time. She also made the flowers bouquet for the 4 Bridesmaids, one Groom Boutonniere and my Bride bouquet and the matching Flower Ring for my head. These are very creative woman who really cares what their work looks like when providing excellence for that 'SPECIAL DAY'. :-) They have now become friends of mine. I asked them how many Brides that they fixed their dress ever invited them to their wedding...and was told "none of them". I was the first one who ever invited them...they both came...had a great time...added their name and the business on the wedding program and they also came to my Husband's 'Golden Birthday Party' two weeks ago. They are Honest and Hard Working ladies, and are fair with their prices. That is the kind of Company that I want to do business with....one that is willing to give you what you want and then goes beyond your satisfaction. Love these 2 Ladies. :-) read more

Terrible customer service. I left my wedding top with this company at one location in east Centennial where I paid in full to have my top revamped to fit me snug on my wedding day. The seamstress did a botched job of adding bra cups and taking in the sides, it did not fit in the least when I came to a second fitting appointment when I was told it was 100% completed. Because of this I chose to find a different top and work with a different seamstress completely. Furthermore the seamstresses Martha and Blanca failed to notify me that they had changed locations and were now located in the Chatfield area. Not my ideal wedding seamstress. read more

Mostly patching and straight cuffs on one pair of trousers. Loose threads all over all five pieces. Marked cuff was the correct length, but the other cuff is 1/4 to 1/2 inch longer. Two large knee patches with material I provided were poorly done in that the patches were not flat against the underlying material resulting in gathering and buckling of the edges of the patches. One leg patch which I had expressed concern to the lady taking my order that it had just been zigzagged with no material under the patch had additional zigzagging attaching material beneath the patched area with the underneath patch edges not sewn down. In general, just shoddy work. Not worth the money charged for the work based on the low quality. read more

If anyone in littleton is looking to get anything altered/ fitted. DO NOT GO herr. They are by far the worst company I have ever had to deal with in my life and worst customer service and work. They messed up on my dress seems looked horrible uneven. And on top of everything rude. And cheapskates. And they never had my dress done when promised and having my dress for almost 2 weeks. And then didn't start yet and told to come back in a hour. This happened 3 times you first two times after I dropped my dress off and then when I went to pick it up after them offering to fix it.they said they would give me full refund and then I get dress finally and they don't give me full refund. And argued saying they gave half of it when I first paid for the dress. And everyone I in countered hardly spoke English. read more

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE reconsider taking your wedding dress here. Find the extra $100 and take it to professional wedding dress alteration. When we first dropped off the dress, we did have an uneasy feeling. The seamstress' were very nice and reassuring that they knew what to do. But when we came in for the first fitting we knew we had made a mistake! We went back first thing the next morning to get the dress and take it somewhere else. They kept shaking their heads saying no, we fix it. They didn't understand that there was NO WAY we were leaving the dress with them. After arguing and getting heated, I brushed past them and went in the workroom to get the dress. Told them that they really need to refund the money. They only gave us $175 back. We immediately made an appointment with a reputable professional wedding dress seamstress...which by the way we should have done in the first place. The hem was absolutely horrible!! I could've done a better job. They pressed the hem with a presser not a steamer, and this resulted in the material to be wavy, almost burned. Then if that wasn't enough, they only took in one side of the dress at the waistline...but it gets worse...they did not open the seam, just sewed over a bit. When looking at the dress we could tell there was something wrong just couldn't pinpoint it until we had a professional look at it. Thank God they did not touch the bust area yet!!! We came back to the shop to get a refund with photos and documents in hand, we tried to show them that they just about destroyed the dress. They all came at us yelling and saying they would not refund...but it gets worse, again...they actually threw out the race card. They said they should call the police, we said please do. All of the sudden it changed, they refunded the rest of the money. Unbelievable, insane, nightmare!! read more
