Ordered takeout through their website and it was a friggin disaster. The site ordering has an "add on" section and a "wrap sides" section - this implies the former would be inside the wrap and the latter would be on the side of the wrap, right? Well I chose hummus, baba ghanooj, and fries as sides, but when my husband picked up the order for me, everything was inside the wrap. Gross. He asked them to remake it with the extra items on the side, but they gave him a plate instead of a wrap.... but the plate didn't have the things that would normally be inside the wrap (lettuce, tomato, onion) so my lunch was pathetic and nothing close to what I wanted, ordered, or expected. read more

I'm not one to leave a 1 star review. My girlfriend and I decided to finally pay this restaurant a visit this past Saturday August 14th 2021 around 7pm. Our initial impression as soon as we walked in was not great, but perhaps the food would make up for the subpar service we thought? We were mistaken, not only was the woman taking our order very short and rude to us as well as other customers the two workers behind the counter were moving at a snails pace with zero sense of urgency. Thirty minutes passed before we finally received our food and by that time they were about to close so we decided to bring our food home with us. My girlfriend had ordered a steak shawarma plate I got a chicken shawarma plate. Her steak was burnt to a crisp and inedible because it was so over cooked, she had also ordered a side Greek salad which greens were wilted. Our rice was old and some parts were hard as a rock, the hummus was tasteless and my chicken was flavorless. I had called them that same evening when we discovered the state of our $45 meal to request a full refund to which they "obliged". Wait time was pretty crazy. I order a three kabob entree. What I got was approx 4 ounces of meat (3 ounces of chicken and 1 oz of steak) and little bit of rice, no hummus (which I ordered) and salad. I usually get the beef shawarma pita. I love the beef here, mediteranean food: wonderful. This is the first location to carry desserts and BOY ARE THEY GOOD! I love the fruit tart, creme brulee, and also believe it or not the cakes: chocolate and cinnamon are to die as they are so moist. I honestly liked their dish. One of my favorite Mediterranean restaurant is the 'Jerusalem' near DU campus, but I gave this place a try. This store impressed me with a phenomenal service and clean environment. We ordered Chicken Shawrma and the meat was juicy and tender. The only reason I give this place 3 stars is because of a small portion compared to its price. I wish there were more rice and hummus rather than the salad. The amount of meat was decent. I love Mediterranean chains like this, because it makes it easy to get a vegetarian meal while I'm out and about. I stopped into Saj yesterday after doing some shopping in the area and ordered a Falafel plate with several of their sides. The gentleman that was working the counter was helpful and friendly and was explaining the different options that they had, and when I was ready to leave he met me at my table with a to-go bag. A+ for customer service. In addition, the restaurant was very clean and all of the prepped food items looked fresh and of high-quality. The main downside, was that my falafel was undercooked in the middle so I wasn't completely crazy about it. I used to love this place and have either picked food up or had delivery from Postmates. However, today's delivery was a different case. We ordered today and they completely jipped us on portion sizes. For 3 Saj plates, our total was almost $50 (which I know some of that is fees from Postmates) we were still hungry after eating our lunch. The portion size was half of what it normally is. We were very disappointed. The flavor was delicious as always but we were very bummed when we opened the box and there was hardly one fork full of the cabbage which was supposed to be one of our sides. I placed an online order at 6:38 on Sunday 10/23/22 my confirmation email said it would be ready for pick up at 7:09. I was charged the 67.00 for my order and when went to pick it up all of the employees were walking out the door and all the lights were off. I love the Middle East flavor and I really miss that! It is pretty close to the real thing. The hummus was amazing!! The best in Denver Area! They have really nice dishes. The chicken kabob and the kofta kabob are delicious! The only thing I didn't like in this place is the Greek salad. The vegetable was not fresh especially the tomatoes. For those who need filling in, Saj Mediterranean Grill takes the Chipotle Mexican Grill format and applies it to kabobs, schawarma plates, wraps, pitas, and paninis. I went with the beef and chicken combo plate, with 4 sides. The chicken and beef were both very good. Very juicy and heavily marinated in what tasted like an olive oil based sauce. The basmati rice was disappointing. Some pieces were rock hard and others were burnt. The hummus and pita were decent. Falafel was definitely a highlight, very tasty. The Tzatziki sauce was very cucumber heavy, which is not my personal preference. Overall, some ingredients were good and some were bad, but nothing wow'ed like a truly great Mediterranean place. This place used to be great, but ever since the Centennial location opened and the owner has spent less time here, it has slipped both in terms of food and service. The last few times I've come here, the food is not as good as it used to be several months ago. Then today I went in here with my co-workers, and I sat there for 30 minutes as they screwed up two of our orders once, and then screwed up my order a second time. The person who got my order wrong then said she would fix it. By this point, I was irritated and didn't want to wait for another 20 minutes for them to finally get things right. Then I had to engage in a debate about getting my money back because I no longer wanted the food. This place is a disgrace. First off, the restaurant was empty, smelled peculiar, and the atmosphere was stark and depressing. The surly man who took our take-out order was wearing a filthy, torn t-shirt. He slopped the food, all of which was uncovered and looked the opposite of fresh, into a container, while another sour looking man, visible in the kitchen, prepared the grilled chicken. I managed to catch my daughter's eye just as she paid $27 for the messy lumps of salad, tabouleh swimming in liquid and wilted greens. We agreed quietly that this food was probably not fit for consumption and she asked if it was possible to have a refund. The man said that was an option but asked, rather agressively, why she wanted it. Instead of saying truthfully that the food, and he, looked really unsavory, she said politely that we'd changed our minds. He replied that this wasn't a good reason. I had seen a woman flitting about at the back of the kitchen who I assumed was the owner but we decided to just get out of there. There was no way we could have asked her, in front of this man, how she could have allowed someone in dirty garb to serve food in the first place, so we just left and deposited the package in a garbage bin.
