Menu and magazine article about restaurant are present on window
    Rika M.

I was truly hoping that I would be able to give this place a solid 5-star rating but unfortunate I couldn't. I placed an order through DoorDash (Pickup) as I wanted to go and look at the restaurant. Placing the orders in that portal was easy. It gave me an estimated time for the food to be ready (about 20 minutes from 2:20pm when the order was placed.) Upon arrival at the promised time, the guy behind the kitchen window (or should I call it thr "ordering counter) immediately took notice of me so he greeted me to welcome me. Once I had given my name, he wasted no time to give me my food (Salad Maison and Combination Kebab as they had already been in a plastic bag.) "This is it. Thank you, Rika. See you next time." was said by the guys with a nice smile on his face. Even though brief, I appreciated this pleasant exchange of kind words. Service appreciated to be pretty solid here. I also noticed that the interior of the restaurant was quite quaint and cute. I couldn't help taking a few photos of the entire dining room. Now the food.... -Combination Kebab was overall quite dry especially the meats. They tasted like they had been sitting on some food warmer thing for quite sometime. The rice (bed spread underneath the meats) was also dry. -Salad Maison: Very unique salad. More than a handful of small-cut pita bread pieces were placed all over the salad where the some of the pita pieces got wet soggy so I removed them from it and placed them on the open lid to take a photo of the entire plate. If I were the restaurant worker there, I would put them in a small bag separated from the wet salad. Other than that, I found the salad unique with some distinct flavors or spices which I couldn't make of. However, I don't think I will order this again as it may not be my cup of tea. Maybe this dish is super authentic where only the real Middle Eastern or Moroccan people would understand it. Not sure to be frank. Well, I know other people rated Cafe Paprika very high which I don't disagree. There's got to be an appeal that resonated with them but for me, there are other similar restaurants that resonated with me more than this place. Hence my conclusion is, this place didn't make the list of my "favorite Mediterranean/Middle Eastern/Moroccan restaurants" unfortunately. I might give it and try in the future and that is not going to be anytime soon.

Apricot lamb (it was a special at the time)

A small, unasuming restaurant thag packs great flavor and wonderful service. I always order the lamb and finally convinced my best friend to try lamb too. He got the apricot lamb stew and has not stopped raving about it since. He isn't a big fan of fgamey meat but how the stew was made was to his liking. The lamb was so tender and practically flew off the bone. When in Rome, you do what the romans do, so we also ordered some Morrocan mint tea. Highly recommend this place. Easily missed but once tried, you'll miss it!

This place has literally been here forever and has solid reviews. I believe it is only one of two Moroccan restaurants in the broader Denver MSAs. I've traveled to Morocco and I would say excellent Morrocan food is very hard to come by in the states. We ordered two tajines, a harrira (chickpea) soup and two mint teas (a hallmark of morrocan culture. The food was good, but it didn't blow us away. The service was friendly though and the ambiance felt like a blast from the past. Overall I recommend - it's pretty good.

Everything was absolutely delicious! The owner of the restaurant was so kind and welcoming, and chatted for a while with my husband, who had studied abroad in Morocco. The mint tea was delicious, and we received refills without even asking. There were pretty murals and ambient lighting around the restaurant. It's on the smaller side, but it doesn't feel cramped - just comfortable and welcoming! Each plate of food was cooked perfectly and had plenty of flavor and great serving sizes. Our two friends and my husband and I ate our fill and still had plenty of leftovers to take home. There wasn't one disappointing plate out of everything we ordered. I think our overall favorite was the kefta tajin! We will definitely be back again, and we can't wait to try more dishes at Cafe Paprika.

    Maison Salad sooooooo good!!

To update my most recent review of this place after getting me the Kafta Kabab plate…read more... Amazingly good quality food and friendly service!! On a super chilly Friday night, after I had been done with my second hustle business not too far from this restaurant, before I headed for another business I would need to take care of, I stopped here as I was famished. I simply couldn't think of any other place where I could get food that always promises quality where I wouldn't have to wait too long to get it. I was truly fearful that my uncontrollable appetite would swallow me had I gone to a different restaurant where I might end up waiting too long (LOL!!) My choice was right. And to be greeted by the same kind gentleman (who had always assisted me in the past) warmed up the core of my heart and soul. He did say to me that I should have called in to place my order ahead because he said that the kitchen was quite busy and that I might wait at least or as long as 20 minutes. I told him I was willing to wait although my stomach continued to yell at me from inside!! Well, I got lucky; it didn't take long. See...my assumption was right; this place never disappoints. This time, instead of the usual I get (the vegetarian plate), I tried something different. It's the Kafta Kabob plate. This is another great dish to consider ordering at this place as long as meat is part of your diet. The meat was unapologetically tender and well-seasoned. It was hard to fathom as to how they perfected this technique to cook it to its perfection. The accompanying salad and hummus were gracefully served in the same container. Did I say that Golden's hummus is one of the best? I think I did at least once. It is because of its impeccable creaminess. Awww...I can eat this thing almost everyday if I must. This is a tiny, more of a family-run restaurant type place. Inside is quite basic and yet it's never messy or dirty. This is a place you can comfortably sit and dine without worrying about its cleanliness; sanitation is not an issue. But most of all, you go here for the quality of food. This place easily beats a fine restaurant in an upscale neighborhood for sure.

The menu was recently refreshed and it shows. The mushroom paella was loaded and perfectly cooked, the burrata was a solid start, and the Turkish pizza with halloumi was a surprise standout. The poached cod was also great, especially the sauce. The drinks were just as strong. The L5 margarita with salt foam was really good, and even the frosé, which I usually skip, worked perfectly here. The vibe is a big part of it. The downtown views are hard to beat and the patio is easily one of the better ones in the city. Inside also feels intentional and well designed. Service was excellent. Avery was our server and it was her first day, which you wouldn't have guessed. Carl and Mark also made the experience feel smooth and welcoming. For dessert, the Lisbon chocolate cake and Turkish kunefe were both great. The Basque cheesecake and lobster salad also stood out and had those memorable bites that stick with you. Overall, a really strong experience and definitely a place worth making a reservation for.

The flavor on everything is elevated and fresh!! We had hummus w/pita, falafel, and fries to start. Amazing falafel! Perfectly crispy outside and pillowy inside. For entrees, I had the lamb gyro which was one of the best I've had. The lamb is perfection and they wrap it in a roti instead of pita which was absolutely the move! The house-made pickled veggies served with it were amazing as well and really balanced the nice waiting of the lamb gyro. My wife got the Caesar salad with chicken Shawarma. That was Incredible as well! Try a side of the Harrissa in the zhug sauces to add a little fresh heat! The restaurant has great ambience with some Moroccan type vibes and a great patio. The bartenders and waitstaff were attentive, friendly, and professional. If I were rating only those things, this would be an easy 5 stars. Then the yellow rice arrived cold and crusty. We sent it back. It came back slightly improved but still not properly hot. After a few bites, we found a piece of plastic in it. The half chicken was a mixed bag. The crispy skin was delicious and well seasoned, but the chicken itself was served only lukewarm. Some pieces were moist and enjoyable, while others, especially toward the end, were noticeably dry. It wasn't bad, but had I known it would be served that way, I probably would have ordered something else. The kitchen issues alone would have dropped this to 4 stars. What pushed it down to 3 stars was the billing. A 20% service charge had already been added, yet the payment process still encouraged an additional tip. If you're not paying close attention, it's very easy to leave 40% on an already expensive meal. Whether intentional or not, it feels confusing and misleading. Even if it's disclosed somewhere on the menu, that doesn't make it customer friendly. Customers should not have to do math or hunt through fine print like a budget airlines to figure out what their meal actually costs. Build your labor costs into the menu price and be transparent. Surprise fees create frustration and leave customers feeling misled, regardless of how many disclaimers are printed. To their credit, they removed a couple of drinks from the bill, and I want to be clear that the staff handled the situation professionally. The problem was not the servers. The problem was a kitchen that missed the mark and a shady billing practice that leaves customers with a bad taste in their mouth at the end of the meal. Great hummus. Great pita. Great cocktails. Great service. Cold rice. Plastic in the food. A chicken dish that didn't quite live up to the hype. Confusing service fees. That's how a restaurant that could have been 5 stars ends up with 3.
