I have eaten here once before. The food was ok. The young man who runs this counter has awful character. I sneezed on myself and was covered in slime, but when i asked him for a tissue, he told me to go to the Ethiopian restaurant next door because i was eating their food. The hospitality I was shown was out of this world. The gentleman that took my order AND made my food was so kind and personable. After overlooking their menu, I decided on the Syrian Pizza. I wish they had the gyro on the menu or maybe it was called something else because I definitely would've gotten that. The type of pizza I got was packed with spices. I wasn't a huge fan of it. The mouth feel of all of the spices was pretty and unpleasant, the flavor however was nice. I did wish there was something to break up all of the grittiness. The flatbread that it was served on was pillowy soft, an amazing to bite into. I think I could give them another chance. I just think ultimately the Syrian pizza was not for me. read more

Falafel was perfect. Not too greasy golden and delicious and it comes with a side. I'm talking about the appetizer, so we got baba ghanouj, as the side. They were out of tabouli today, but it is one of my favorite Middle Eastern salads. We also had the lentil soup which could kill any virus for sure. Very delicious and creamy ! The mango house is where this resides and this is a place for people from different countries to show their talents and start their businesses when they come to the United States. Almost a week later and I'm still thinking about this food. I stopped in between work and an engagement looking for some delicious food fit for the cold weather. While I had heard of Mango House, I didn't realize they have the whole building with an international food court inside. Jasmine Syrian Food was one of several places (and I fully intend to come back to check out the rest!) and had a very nice selection of dishes. I picked the chicken shawarma with hummus and lentil soup. This left me with a bounty of food, half of which I took home to enjoy later. The lentil soup was incredibly flavorful and filling. The chicken was well seasoned, rice was great, and the hummus was perfectly smooth. The man who took my order was also very friendly and came to check on how everything was. It is a blessing to have so much quality Middle Eastern/West Asian cuisine in the Denver metro. Prices here feel reasonable and match the quality. Cannot wait to come back for more! read more

There were several types of cuisine which looked enticing, including Burmese, Ethiopian, Haitian, and Syrian. We elected to try Jasmine Syrian based on the greater number of reviews for the restaurant. There was only one person running the food stall. He took the orders, made the food, and served it. He had a lot of customers, and he was swamped, but he still worked with a smile on his face. The food was really good. Some of the better Mediterranean food that I've had. I'm not sure we had anything that specifically distinguished it as Syrian, but I may not have known what to order. The portion sizes were huge, but it was also not the cheapest Middle Eastern food that I've ever gotten (~$25 per person). Regardless, everything was freshly prepared and delicious. I will certainly return to Mango House, but I may try one of the neighboring restaurants at a future visit. read more

Service was like we were visiting family and honored guests. My only caution is that the entrance is on what looks like the rear of the building (NOT the door on Colfax). I have been to Jasmine twice now and loved it each time. Yesterday, I ordered falafel and knaffa. My friend and I shared them and they were so amazing! The falafel was freshly made and came out hot and crispy. The knaffa came out later and was heat hot as it's a traditional hot dessert. The only thing you have to worry about is that it's so delicious and because it's hot, you'll run the huge risk of burning your mouth. I got one to go and wish I would've ordered 50. This was one of the best desserts I've had in a while, packed with flavor, yet only with a subtle sweetness. It was well worth the drive from Denver. Wow!! So happy to have found this gem! The center where it's located it feels like home, everyone is very welcoming. We order vegetarian platter #23 and #22 meat combo platter with mango juice. The service was great from the beginning as we placed our order, young men taking our order was very friendly and awesome customer service. The vegetarian platter was delicious the falafel was cooked perfectly and the salad and rice with the hummus. The mango juice was perfect with any platter, juice is pure sweetness delicious. The meat combo was delicious, the chicken was super juicy my favorite and the beef kabob was good. When the sun is shining and it is a scorcher, Mediterranean food hits the spot. Based on the Yelp reviews, we gave Jasmine a try and unfortunately it did not hit the spot. Chicken Shawarma Wrap - the chicken was so dry and no taste wrapped in a dry pita. We ordered baba ghanoush for a side and my husband thought it was tasteless hummus. Chicken Shawarma Salad - the serving is large and can definitely be shared. The salad had iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, almonds and garbanzo beans. Again chicken was so dry that I had to pick out the chicken and threw it away. The dressing was oily with no flavor. Hummus with Pita Bread - the humus was the highlight and even then I have had so much better. They must have removed the skin because the hummus was smooth, but not creamy. It was not buttery, nutty or tart. The pita was dry. Foul Medammas - I love Fava beans. This was more like a salad then a stew (I have had it both ways). I prefer for the edible outer peel to be removed, but I could live with the peel. I wish they could have coaxed out more of the umami and I did not taste and garlic, lemon oil. We put in frig and will try and doctor up for breakfast tomorrow. I rarely give anything less than a 3, but there is no excuse for tasteless, dry chicken which was our main dish. Who knows maybe the heat scorched my kind cell and maybe we caught them on a bad night. But honestly the entire meal was less than stellar. As always, I think you should try and maybe order the lamb since I understand that is their specialty. On a high note - they have fabulous plastic silverware! read more

This place is still a 5! Great, tasty food with friendly service. They're now starting to sell their garlic sauce separately in a large container and I'm so here for it! When you pay, they'll tell you that you don't have to tip or just skip the tip section all together, but I always make sure to go back and give them a well deserved tip! I'll be honest, I was a little dubious... Syrian food, 5 stars? But, they've earned. I've honestly been giving out more 5 star reviews than I ever have to every restaurant in Mango House, and Jasmine Syrian is no exception. So the rundown: my dad and I got Syrian pizza. Simple. Delicious. Next up was the hummus: you could tell it was homemade and fresh. Texture was excellent. Pita was soft. Perfect. Finally, the gyros. They have an excellent garlic sauce, quality French fries, melt-in-your-mouth meat, and perfectly proportioned vegetables. Truly up there with the best gyros I've had in Europe. Only downside? If you fill up on appetisers and entrees you'll have no room for dessert! (We are part of this category). They look delicious too though. Really good food that you must check out for yourself. I regret not trying this place until a few months ago as this is, without question, one of the top 2 or 3 Middle Eastern cuisine restaurants in the Denver area. The Syrian nuance to the cuisine comes out well in the marinades and sauces as well as in the perfect use of nuts in each dish adds to the other layers of flavors and textures, not something you get at any other Middle Eastern restaurant. Don't let the food court atmosphere and the austere location fool you, as it did me, this is some seriously good food. I'll love getting the vegetarian combo plate at ever Mediterranean restaurant I visit. It's so nice getting a variety of dips and salad. The rice was light and saffrony. Falafel was crisp on the outside and flavorful moist on the inside. The hummus was strong in tahini flavor, with not much or any lemon. The babaganoush had a very pungent, smoky flavor. Everything is made in house to the point the man at the counter hand made my tatziki sauce when I asked for some! The falafel is made from scratch and perfectly moist but slightly crunchy on the outside. It has blown away any falafel I have ever had. I would have a picture of the food but I couldn't stop eating before I wrote this. It is in a building that offers refugee services I believe so the aesthetic is incredible! The massive bonus is there is also African, middle eastern, Japanese, Burmese, and other food options. Upstairs there are several authentic retail shops with things ranging from clothes to rugs.
