Woahhhhh! Surprising fresh and amazing! I was in town exciting from Houston and didn't expect to get quality and fresh sushi in the small town of Port Arthur. This was my 1st time here. Very Poor service, my soup & salad came after the main course. The salads (all 6 of them ) where full of water. My wife didn't receive her main course for over 30 minutes after everyone has eaten. And when it came out it was STILL wrong order. Two of the plates had to be sent back because they were cold. We want to love this place so much! We understand that almost everyone is understaffed and are understanding of this. However the service is consistently bad. We keep giving them a chance but have had enough. Last time we came we ordered Bento Box # 6 but never got our sake pork buns. Today we all got bento boxes and never got our soups. No one ever came to our table, not once to check on drink refills or if we needed anything. We even stopped someone to let them know we never got our soups and still nothing. Just terrible service. The menu has gone up in price from the last time I was here (about a year ago) however portions have also gone up in size. It's a fair trade off because I pay a little more but have plenty for lunch the next day. The staff are mostly friendly and young which is all fine however our waiter took my phone out of my hands an used it to show me something on the menu. My husband and I were in the mood for sushi so we decided to try this place out. I have to say, I was disappointed to say the least. The sushi rolls would fall apart as soon as we picked them up. I had the Red Dragon Roll which is supposed to be topped with spicy tuna but didn't taste the kick and it barely had any flavor. I also had the Caliente Roll which was pretty good but I couldn't even enjoy it as it kept falling apart. My husband ordered two rolls as well and only one of them was good. The kids had a chicken teriyaki plate and it was ok. The sauce was good but not sweet enough and the chicken was too tough and dry for the kids. The wait time to be seated was minimal and our waiter, Dillon, was at our table taking our drink orders in next to no time at all. Dillon was attentive the entire meal but didn't hover over the table when he wasn't needed either; he was personable and on point with his recommendations and verifying menu options. The food was doubly fantastic! My sister and I shared the Tuna Tower and it was great; unlike some sushi tower appetizers this one did not have rice but featured other fish including octopus! We've been coming here for a few years. The sushi rolls are good. The chicken fried rice doesn't have enough onion, egg, etc. It's mostly rice with soy sauce. There was a good amount of chicken but it was a little on the dry side. Large portions are nice. I am disappointed in the up keep of the place. The entrance floor is filthy and the walls need painting. There is a cheap plastic plant with lights strewn on it... not a good first impression. The banquet room has chairs piled along one wall. The booth seat's are torn and need to be replaced. The kitchen music was blaring and clashing with music in dining area. Eat at your own risk! The food is good but waitstaff does NOT care about safety during the pandemic! There were at least 6 waitress/hostesses at the front and from what I could tell all of them were part of doing to-go orders in some way. 2 of the hostesses/waitresses (one of whom seemed to be in charge) did NOT cover their nose with their mask and didn't see it as an issue at all. Absolutely love this place! The sushi is amazing. And the service is great. Have been here about 3 times now and have yet to be disappointed. For appetizers we highly recommend to try the tacos. We prefer salmon (it just melts in your mouth) but I'm sure any would be just as good. We've also tried the garlic hamachi. It's simple but tasty. K-poppers weren't too bad but not a big fan. As far as the rolls we love the twister we just request cream cheese and jalapeno to give it a kick. We've also ordered the passion roll which is also great, we'd recommend to request spicy mayo on top to add more flavor. The ramen is a must try. I was in town for work and was looking for a place to order take out since I was limited on time. I decided to choose Sake. Even found out that the owner helped feed many people during Harvey!! Many kudos!! but I have to say I wasn't impress with the rolls. I ordered the scuba diver roll and firecracker roll which took more than 30 mins when I was quoted 30 mins. And was not impress at all.. I felt as if the salmon want fresh leaving quite an after taste in my month. Maybe it's my selection but I will give it another try whenever I'm in town again.
