I recently visited Saki Sushi Bar and had a mixed experience. The food itself was good, and we enjoyed what we ordered. However, the service was quite slow during our visit. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy, but we still had to wait a long time for different parts of our service. I understand that every restaurant can have an off day, so hopefully this was just a one-time experience. With a little more attention to service and timing, I think the overall experience could be much better. The food was definitely enjoyable, but based on my visit, the service is the main area that could use some improvement. read more

I will never again eat at this restaurant. First, there were 3 of us on a Saturday night and there were only 6 customers total in the place at that time. We ordered 3 rolls......it took 30 minutes to get them..... The overwhelming smell of the salmon roll I ordered turned my stomach, not to mention it was not even close to what the menu said. I sent it back and ordered something else.....so the "chef" decided to come to our table and argue with me about what I ordered..... The only saving grace about this place is the server AJ. He needs to go find an amazing restaurant to serve at and I would be there all the time. read more

It's not like he went so far and beyond the normal service although he was very good, he was just so sweet. I did really enjoy my roll although I'd get a different one next time. I tried this place because of the reviews. I wish I had not. I was incredibly disappointed in the quality, size, and presentation of the order. There was barely any salmon in either of salmon rolls I ordered. One roll looked like a 5 year old made it because it was basically empty of ingredients and literally falling apart. I did not get $40 worth of sushi. I agree with another reviewer that this sushi tasted worse than grocery store sushi. read more

Sushi wasn't bad but nothing special (Rainbow & OKC Roll) and all but the rice in their shrimp fried rice was terribly over cooked. We had been to Saki once before, but it was years ago. Too long ago. Crab Rangoon and Edamame seem to be our go-to appetizers, so, of course we started with those. So yummy! The Crab Rangoon is so easy to eat with its slender roll shape. The Edamame is stir-fried with garlic. What do you eat after two of the best flavors ever? A Mongolian Combo Bowl! With its fried rice and veggies, it was a perfect entree to share. You can see how much we liked it in the picture below. :) Because of a baseball game, we walked in after 8:00 pm. My food was okay at best not bad but I have had much better in the city. My fiancé said her sashimi was on the better quality side and portion was big for the price. My sons meal was frozen fried food which if we wanted that for him would have went to target and heated that up at home. Best children's menu is whiskey cake because they actually make their food at the restaurant and not just fry it or heat it up. A diamond in the ruff and ken was a gem. Will definitely be back. Tried a couple different sakes, pad Thai, crab Rangoon, and the rock bowl jalapeño chicken. The pad Thai wasn't the best I've ever had but was pretty good. The jalapeño chicken was DELICIOUS but not too spicy, just a kick. And the service was great. I had happened to have a deal through Restaurants.com and decided on coming here after the reviews. They did NOT disappoint! We ended up with 6 rolls after we had ordered edamame to start, then complimentary crab Rangoon, which was delicious. Sweet cream cheese and crab but still hot and fresh. Really enjoy the sweet, chili sauce that came. Ordered the Angel, Aruba, PayDay, Christmas Grenade, Red Devil, and Jackpot. Think our overall favorite was the PayDay. Really enjoyed the spiciness of the Red Devil, too. The Siracha has a nice touch with it. They fit almost all of them on a boat for us. Wonderful presentation, too! If you're an avid sushi eater, order from the Special Maki part of the menu. Even the boy said the Aruba was a bit white for him, and he's white . I've taught him to get out of his comfort zone, and now he likes the more exotic combinations. We will definitely be back even though it's nowhere near us. Service was more than excellent. Overall this is an excellent sushi restaurant. I loved the decor. I love the cool booths but they weren't offered to us (boo!) My biggest complaint is that when it says snow crab THAT DOES NOT MEAN CRABSTICK! This is not the first restaurant I've had this discussion with and I seriously doubt it will be the last. Overall our favorite roll was the Omega 3. In fact, I'd come back for this roll alone. The fish was fresh and tasty and pretty. This is "(avocado, salmon and seaweed salad) red snapper, snapper and ponzu sauce, spicy herbs and cilantro." We ordered the Naruto Roll, which is the aforementioned roll with crabstick (grr!). This is "(avocado, Kani, sashimi), wrapped in cucumber, snow crab, masago and ponzu sauce." We also got the Christmas Grenade, which in my opinion, had too large of pieces of jalapeños. Everything was actually really good! We started off with a sushi appetizer which was AMAZING! I can't remember the name right now it was "something bomb" but that it was BOMB! My taste buds did a happy dance . Me and kids for some normal stuff like noodles/glass noodles/sushi. All was very good except they chopped my flat noodles up into almost mush.-- I still ate it, it was very good! They have good flavor and cooking style. We got two desserts - the chocolate bomb and fried Oreos . Please do NOT leave without trying the fried Oreos. Best I EVER HAD. The tempura cut the extra sweetness and was PERFECT! Came here for a quick bite last weekend. The restaurant was not busy, only one other table besides us an hour before close. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress got our drink and appetizer orders, and our food came out really fast. For dinner my son had the chicken and fries kids meal, I had eel nigiri and salmon sashimi, and my fiancé had some type of spicy udon bowl. We all shared gyoza and crab Rangoon which were just okay. My son didn't like his food much, and my fiancé also didn't care for his udon. However, my sashimi was super fresh and cut thick. The value for what you get when you order sashimi is really good. The eel nigiri was the more cheaper version where the eel is small and thin and not the more meatier version. The rice was at least cooked well. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly so, service was great. Ambiance is kind of like your typical hole in the wall in a strip mall vibe, nothing fancy here. Place was clean, and if I lived closer I'd come here again. But.. I don't live that close and just wanted to try a new sushi place. There are better sushi restaurants near me so, I won't be back unless I'm in the area. If you live near here I highly recommend ordering the sashimi. read more

A very professional young gentleman was my waiter on a cold Friday evening. There wasinimal wait-time as a table was wiped down for me during my arrive. I was very impressed with the generous amounts of mushroom in the soup that came with the entree. The maki's rice was a tad bit too sticky although there was a good amount of substance (meat, avocado, etc) I was very impressed when I witnessed that the shrimp in the garlic fried rice were all de-shelled including the tails. My sister and I picked this place as our midpoint rendezvous to exchange Christmas presents (yes, I'm late in posting this). I was immediately impressed with the Decour and the friendly waiter, seated us and was very attentive throughout. Hi husband and I ordered like we are rich people and started with an appetizer; mine was tempura vegetables and his was calamari. We all ordered bento boxes (except me) which comes with miso soup but we all uniformly requested the clear broth. As you can see from the picture it is rich. I ordered the pictured sushi roll. Apparently this place has an issue with interracial couples. I have been a few times by myself and have received service promptly, but every time my African-American husband goes with me it basically takes an act of congress to get anyone to help us. I suppose a business can harbor an innate hatred of people of color in 2023, but at least fly your flag proudly and let everyone know so we don't waste our time. My only complaint was how large the pieces were cut. I took a picture for reference, but they were so big I could barely fit them in my mouth.
