Shakira Japanese Steakhouse is an amazing restaurant with an Asian inspired atmosphere. They have a Budda statue and coy fish. The service was excellent and everyone that worked here was very attentive and friendly. Our food came out quickly and we felt warmly welcomed as soon as we walked through the door. It was an all around amazing dining experience. I ordered the tempura shrimp roll and a miso soup and we shared an order of spring rolls. The food was absolutely delicious! This place is a vibe. It's not much to look at from the outside, but as soon as you walk thru the doors you are transported into a fun Asian inspired atmosphere. The decor is appealing. There is a neat Buddha statue across from the bar where people have made donations (left money), and at the base there is a moat of water with dozens of koy fish This is a Japanese steakhouse, so, there are a variety on entrees, appetizers, and sushi to choose from There is a bar, dining area, and several hibachi stations. Hibachi is a crown favorite, so, HOU might have a wait... but it's well worth it. The performance is a comedic and skillful spectacle. There are props, "classic moves," and other bits. Instead of squirting water in our mouths they actually squirted sake, which was a nice touch Some tips: I would recommend the hibachi. I love eating sushi and ramen bowls but this is the 1st place I've been where I didn't eat my food. I got the seafood bowl & some sushi. They smelled soooo bad, the sour fish smell was overwhelming, my seafood bowl broth didn't have much flavor, the noodles were super rubbery / gummy. Maybe the noodles were supposed to be like that but I did not like that texture. I tried to eat the vegetables in my soup instead but I couldn't, there was a very slight chemically taste on everything in the bowl. I ended up not eating anything I got and getting food someplace else. read more

I am not a big fan of Hibachi, so I ordered Sushi but was a bit skeptical. However, I ended up pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Cow Boy Roll and onion soup. I did ask the server if I could substitute the spicy turn on the roll for salmon and they said YES. I was very happy that they we willing to make the change. In town on a travel contract and I had to find a good hibachi place. The rice and yum yum sauce tastes different than back home but it was still pretty good. I got the lobster and shrimp and wish I had just gotten the shrimp. Overall I enjoyed the meal. read more

The food was ok considering the geographic location. My real complaint is with the cleanliness of the facility. I had two small children with me. The booster seats which were available were encrusted in filth. I had to use my wife's antibacterial wipes in order to wipe down the chair. I'm not even worried about the germs, I'm more worried about the sticky food and debris all over the chair. Same experience in the restroom; utterly filthy. I've been cleaner restrooms on isolated interstate gas stations. The worst part was, there were four young employees just standing around; the place wasn't busy. Are these young people not trained on how to clean a bathroom? I paid over $100 for lunch for my wife, son, and myself; is a clean bathroom an unreasonable ask with employees standing around doing nothing? There needs to be an adult on duty or something, this place is absurdly filthy. I'd rather go get hot dogs at the Love's travel center on the other side of town, at least they keep the place clean. read more

I worked there for about six months and I loved the staff and the customers. Great place to work, amazing fun atmosphere to have dinner or dinner partys. This is not a negative review, but it was my first time here and I ate the chicken pad Thai. It was just so so. I don't think it was bad by any means. It was just kinda plain and they served it in a plain white bowl. I'm not one who usually condemns food for things like napkins or silverware or apperance (some of the worst looking restaurants serve the best food). Went here for dinner with family, some had been here previously. I ordered the fried dumplings appetizer and it was quite tasty. For dinner I had the combo dinner of chicken and lobster, hubby had filet mignon and lobster. Combo dinners come with soup, salad and choice of rice on side. The soup was delicious, the salad was good but I thought there was a bit too much liquid in the bottom of the bowl. There were a lot of noodles with dinner but they were good. The chicken and lobster had great flavor but the chicken was a little tough and dry, and the lobster had been cooked too long. Hubby said his steak was tender but lobster overdone. I've never been so disappointed in a place... I don't even know where to start... Between the loud ass Mexican music in all Spanish, the fact that my whiskey crush had absolutely no alcohol in it and the muddled mint was brown, the completely un-bussed tables, the bar tender who was supposed to be serving us but only talked to us twice and then walked out fifteen minutes before close without even asking if we wanted our ticket, or the fried food that tasted like the fryer hadn't ever been cleaned but has been over cooking food for years... idk. Check the place out if you want... I mean it's North Dakota sushi how good can the seafood be? But you'd think they'd try to up sell on service, and there was absolutely none. Good luck! Such a fun place to go if you like this style of food! Went here while visiting family in town. They cook the food on a grill right in front of your table and are very entertaining and involved in the whole process. Only thing that was weird to me is they automatically add a $10+ service charge at the end. Also their bathrooms were surprisingly gross and run down for being a nice restaurant. This may be the best sushi in Williston, however it is the worst sushi I have ever tasted... And I eat a lot of sushi back home. Beware of the "king crab crunch roll" mine has a huge chunk of salmon, a tiny bit of tuna and ZERO crab. NADA. I took each piece apart and could not find ANY Crab. When I called they said that the roll actually has mostly salmon and a tiny bit of crab. I hunted and hunted and couldn't even find a tiny piece. The "King roll" that has lobster was meh... My order was take out and they smooshed both rolls into one container that was too small. The Shrimp Tempura was ok. I've had much better elsewhere. If your craving sushi and you happen to be stuck in Williston.....don't bother with this place. I paid $47 for three items and it was very disappointing. read more

We just moved to town and Hibachi is our favorite. The reviews for this place are so up and down. When we seated I was quick to jump on the loser star rating due to the fact that it took like 10-15 minutes for a waitress to ask for our drink, then another 10 minutes before the soup or salad came out and then another 15 -20 minutes for our cook to even come out. Mind you we were the only ones in the restaurant. Our female waitress was very nice, prompt (once she finally came out) but spoke very very soft. She was sweet and did a good job. Our chef did an awesome job. He was so entertaining and made delicious food. The price isn't too bad for the portions. You get your soup, salad, and dinner!! Again this place is good. Although Sakura has some great food, it also has some very disappointing food as well. Two examples of this are their California Roll, which consists of one small chunk of crab with the other 70-80% being cucumber and avocado, and the Sakura Ramen. The house ramen is some of the saddest, most disappointing ramen I've ever eaten in my life. I'd rather have made own 30 cent ramen block with an egg cracked in it than eat their poor excuse for ramen. The fish cakes and eggs were rubbery beyond all belief, the noodles were overcooked and stuck together into one large clump, the broth was overly sweet and off putting, and the pork was mostly fat with the rest dry and old, if you could even imagine the concept of dry pork thats been marinating in broth. I immediately felt sick to my stomach after eating it. For the price of $15, you might as well buy three packs of cigarettes and eat them if you want a cancerous, disgusting experience to choke down. Never again will I make the mistake of thinking that I could find a decent bowl of ramen in Williston. read more

My fiancé and I used to enjoy this place at least once a week, but the service and food today was terrible. They apparently didn't clean their grills properly so water leaked out in the floor underneath our seats and all over our feet.. DIRTY GREASY WATER. It was disgusting. On top of that, the hibachi chef wouldn't stop talking about his medical problems, and clearly overwhelmed the five year old girl sitting next to us by tossing food at her even though she blatantly asked him not to several times. In fact, she nearly started crying because of the pressure he put on her. I love this place. Imthe inside is decorated so nice... wouldn't mind having the owner decorate my place. Im really tall and some restaurants do not accommodate for taller people and they do. I love the hibachi grill. Its always fun to get broccoli thrown at u. My daughter loved it. We dont drink alcoholic beverages, however others that did were getting free squeezes of a alcohol in theor mouths from a distance. I go.on lunch breaks as well. Quick service.
