That said, the hostess experience has consistently been the weak point for me. On my most recent visit, there were open seats in the bar area and I politely requested to sit there because it felt warmer and more intimate for our group. The request was denied in a way that came across unnecessarily dismissive and unfriendly, which unfortunately set the tone for the evening. I also think the restaurant could improve how the back dining room is managed during colder months. That area tends to be very cold when it first opens in the evening, and guests are often seated there before the room has had time to warm up. It would make a big difference if the area was opened and heated before seating guests, since most people naturally prefer to sit somewhere warm when it's freezing outside. Unfortunately, when customers ask to move to a warmer area, it can feel like the request is treated more as an annoyance than an effort to make guests comfortable. At a restaurant of this caliber, hospitality starts at the front door. The food and servers are excellent, but the front-of-house experience could definitely use improvement.

I was too stunned by the sight to even take pictures. I'll take some the next time we go, which we will definitely go again. The staff is friendly and does a decent job in checking on you. The portions are pretty big, depending on what you order, and it's delicious. It was my first time ever having walleye (a staple in North Dakota) and it was fantastic! Not fishy in taste and had loads of Cajun flavor without being overbearing. We're definitely going to come back for some drink specials and try some other dishes.

With great decor and lots to read and look at and free pool tables in the bar area the wait for food was entertaining at least. Our wait staff was very friendly and attentive. They serve Coke products- my favorite! Very spacious inside with mix of boothes and tables. Large tables to sit a big party too. The bar area is very large with tables in that area. Now the food! It was so good. I got the special which was a prime rib burger with fries- $18.95. It was delightful. So good. The creamy horseradish was excellent too. My husband got the corral burger which was excellent as well-$16.95. Granted lunch was pricey but worth it. Food is not cheap in this part of the country and for quality you pay higher prices. I would recommend the restaurant for ambience and decor and quality food! The nachos looked amazing and lots of people ordered the fish tacos. I would visit again if traveling back through Williston. Good options for kids too.

Being in the industry for over 20 years, to my surprise the bartender said "let me ask the kitchen, we close in 45 minutes.!' 45 minutes to close shouldn't even be a question to ask the kitchen. Then she came out and said they were still serving and takes off. So we are looking for a place to sit and she says' you can't sit there, there are no servers.' Ok so maybe you should have sat us after you told us you were still serving 45 minutes to close. The service just progressed to get worse. The food itself was pretty good but the portions were ridiculously small. Only one side with main dish and my date ordered the duck and got literally 4 small bite size pieces of meat, $32. My halibut was also very skimpy and the Brussels sprouts were burnt, $38. Not once did the server even come back to ask how the food was or I would have had her get me a different side. I wish I would have taken a picture of the food. The food itself was good, minus burnt Brussels sprouts but it's a good thing we got an appetizer too or we would have still been hungry. The server is lucky my date left 20 because I said to leave 10 and I don't even know if that was deserved. I am in the industry and we always overtip but not in this case when it's more than obvious the server doesn't even want to be there. So all in all it was not a good experience. Overpriced for the portion of food and the service was awful.

Very friendly staff. Ordered chicken fried steak which was great. Huge amount of food. The service staff was wonderful. They served coke and pepsi products!! Thank goodness for the diet coke. They even gave me a to go cup. My meal was tasty and flavorful. The ambiance was great. Great signs all over the wall were fun to look at while waiting. Creamers and jellies on the table. Husband ordered some type of chicken sandwich which was very good as well. He received fries with his meal. They were very good. Everything was great. Clean, family oriented. The moment you walk through the doors, you're welcomed with that classic small-town diner charm. The friendly crew of young ladies greet everyone with a warm "Hi!" and clearly know their regulars by heart. This time around, I was craving liver and onions, and Lonnie's delivered. Two perfectly cooked slices, tender, flavorful, and just the right balance between not too rare and not overdone. Served with hash browns, corn, and a warm roll, it made for the perfect comfort meal. Big thanks to Lonnie's for satisfying the craving with some seriously delicious liver and onions. If you're in town and craving a hearty, home-cooked meal, do yourself a favor and stop by Lonnie's. Highly recommended! .
