This night I felt like some Asian food and one of my favorites is Sakura. As you enter you're greeted by the hostess and taken to your table. On this particular occasion the person that took our order was Jennifer, a very kind and attentive person. She took our order and checked on us periodically, she's very good at her job. The place is adequate in regard to seating, a larger group might need to wait a bit so they can accommodate you. Now the most important thing is; the food. You have a variety of options from fried rice to noodles and other dishes, they also offer a good variety of sushi's crafted to your liking. On this occasion I chose Hibachi Steak, the order comes with fried rice steamed vegetables and a side salad with Miso soup. The hibachi steak was absolutely delicious cooked just as you prefer, the teriyaki sauce brought a great kick and a delicious flavor to the meat. The soup was good as well as the salad which you can choose ranch or a ginger dressing. The vegetables and fried rice complemented the meal just right. Overall this a great option for Asian cuisine. It's one I recommend if you're in the area.

Sushi and Jennifer were great. Hibachi terrible... drenched in teriyaki. "Fried rice" was steamed rice with soy sauce. Vegetables were edible. MIGHT be back for sushi but hibachi was terrible.

Decided to go here for a late birthday dinner. It was a very relaxing atmosphere, quiet, clean, and a chill vibe all around. Our host sat us quickly. Our server was friendly and sweet. She didn't check on us often like I'm used to. She only came to us when we called her. I also didn't get her name because she didn't really speak, but all in all, she was nice. Our food was hot and made fast and it was so good! My soup was tasty, and my salad was good. The egg rolls were AMAZING! My steak was very chewy and hard to eat, but its flavor was good. My fiance got sushi, and he loved it!

We always love coming to Sakura! It's our favorite sushi place but they also have other delicious entree options. Everything is always so fresh and hot. Service is always on point! Their bento box options come with a little bit of everything so you don't feel like you're missing out! The tempura veggies were nice and crisp.

This is an unsuspecting sushi place - doesn't look like too much from the outside (in the same parking lot as H‑E‑B, next to the dentist) but the prices are great, decent menu options, and the sushi is amazing! Came here on a Sunday afternoon around 3pm and wasn't expecting many people inside but it ended up filling pretty quickly. Was seated right away but just a note, the floors are a bit slippery as there looked to be some powder or water under the table and I almost slid under when sitting. I feel that it is rare when I see hand rolls on a sushi menu as they are usually a special item off the menu but this place has them and at a great price! It looks like most of the rolls you can order as a hand roll. I ordered the spicy salmon and the baby green dragon hand rolls, jalapeño white tuna roll, and crazy yellowtail. - spicy salmon hand roll: good ratio of fish to rice, lots of spicy mayo and avocado. Yum! Could use a bit less of the spicy Mayo but that is my preference. - baby green dragon hand roll: I LOVEEEE seaweed salad and I will almost always order the roll if I see that it is topped with seaweed salad. I tried it as a hand roll this time and it did not disappoint! The snow crab was flavorful and was nicely enhanced by the cucumber and avocado without being overpowering. - Jalapeño white tuna: simple and classic roll with white tuna and diced jalapeños. The jalapeños were flavorful without setting your mouth on fire. - crazy yellowtail: wow, you definitely get your money's worth on this roll. There are 12 pieces! It was a refreshing roll with the cucumber and there were even some extra generously sized jalapeño slices. This was just the sushi spot I have been searching for after moving to the New Braunfels area - local spot with fresh fish, great menu, and decent prices! Can't wait to stop by again!

The food is delicious, however the server had no clue on stunts of meals. One gave my dads order to the other table and seemed clueless where the order went as we waited over 30 minutes. I'd suggest they be more mindful of customers time and show a bit more concern about the food being ordered

We have had several fabulous meals here. Last time my friend ordered a tempura roll and yummy! We also got an appetizer that starts with a U but I can't spell it or pronounce it. Plus the fried tofu. Everything was fresh and so very tasty!

Somehow I managed to eat a three Japanese steak hibachi spots in two days. This one was my favorite out of the three. I asked for steak and chicken and they brought out steak and shrimp lol. It was really good though. Which made me get steak and shrimp for the next two places I visited. Food: the steak was so tender and had lots of flavor. I really enjoyed the protein. The shrimp was just as good. The miso soup was decent. The fried rice was full of flavor. I really like the grilled veggies as well. I would definitely stop by again if I was in the area. Service was good. I think they are above your average hibachi Japanese steak place. The food had lots of flavor. Stop by and try them out. Price: is it worth it? Not sure. Lunch specials seem to be priced fair.

Our appetizer was fried calamari and had it actually been meaty and palpable like normal calamari with the crunchiness and flavor of the batter it came out with it would've been phenomenal but unfortunately the calamari was so thin you couldn't differentiate between the calamari or the crispy fried breading. Two of us ordered hibachi and immediately I was disappointed because although I could tell the steak and scallops weren't spoiled there was this detestable after taste I tried to overpower with three different sauces at the table to no avail. It was like meat that had been sitting exposed in an unclean refrigerator absorbing malodors or something previously frozen improperly for a long time, not sour or rotten just very unpleasant tasting. The fried rice was fairly flavorful and the vegetables were pretty good. The steamed rice wasn't a hit with one other person at the table. The sauces were so great from the salad, to the sweet and spicy sauce with the rangoons, and the spicy mayo, the sauces were delicious. If I were to come here again I'd stick to the sushi. Anything else wouldn't be worth the money or risk of dislike in my opinion.

But my son, bless his heart, wasn't exposed to Officer Whats-his-face explaining to a class of fifth graders how deviously addictive substances like heroin, crack, and hot pot can be. So my kid has had a habit for about three or four years now. Chinese hot-pot barely tempts me these days; I don't need a numb mouth like that. Mongolian...that level of sodium was fine in my twenties, I guess. Shabu proper - served with ponzu and sesame sauce by some fella wearing a headband starts to get tempting. But I'm doing well this year, I've only flown to LA's Japantown for my fix once. And honestly, this is not that anyway. Most of these restaurants, where they expect me to boil my own dinner, are pretty easy to wean off of. I mean, seriously, how lazy can a restaurant owner be. Here's some raw meat, cook it yourself, folks? Unfortunately, Wild Japanese's offering is more akin to the most delicious of the hot pots. Singaporean or Malaysian style, with a gigantic assortment of sauces and a flavorful selection of broths, and the best soup you've ever had waiting for you at the end of your meal. And I hope that helps explain why when we go two weeks without a visit, my son starts to get really antsy and sees bugs crawling under his skin, just like Officer What's-His-Face said he would. I think originally you could get just not-shabu; nowadays, they make you pair the hot pot with some inferior food. We've tried the sushi a few times. That was a huge mistake. The Korean BBQ pairs well, it's just a lot of effort, and not a lot of soup, so we grill a token steak or two but otherwise stick to not-shabu. Anyway, that's a short entomology of hot pots throughout the world, excluding fondue, according to my tummy. I could probably stop anytime if I really wanted. Eating this delicious not-shabu. But for my son's sake, I go.
