Please keep in mind, this one star review is not based on the food. I make it a habit of never giving small businesses bad reviews, however this whole situation felt scammy. I ordered from here on Uber eats because I had a gift card, and the driver cancelled the order after picking up the food. I called customer support and they refunded and said to re- place the order. I did, and when the driver went to pick it up, it was the same driver. The restaurant called and said they didn't feel comfortable giving the food to the same driver again (which is understandable) so I agreed to come pick it up. When I got there, they said I had to pay for the food again in order to take the food, despite the fact that Uber already paid the restaurant for both meals (this one and the stolen one). The cashier insisted they didn't get paid for it. I ended up just paying to get the food. Later when I called uber support, they agreed to give me a refund but told me that the restaurant essentially got paid 3 times for two meals (once for the stolen food by Uber, once for the food I got by Uber, and once by me for the food I got). I could chalk it up to a misunderstanding, as I know that Uber is confusing for restaurants, but when I got home, I realized that they charged me for the Uber prices (higher than restaurant prices because Uber takes a cut) of my food instead of their advertised in person price! They ended up over- charging me like $5 more than the price should have been. Overall, I'm super disappointed because the food was good and we would have made this place a regular spot, but the whole customer service interaction left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Ridiculous mentality. The only place where you ask for food and they say they can't accommodate you. I asked for extra of something and they flat out refused because it didn't all fit in one to go box. I said I would pay extra money. I wasn't trying to get extra for nothing. Here's an idea! Put it in a separate container and take my extra money. Never go here. "You buy what we say you can buy or you leave". Any other restaurant would gladly take extra money for extra food. Popped in to this "sort of fast food" restaurant and chose the "Salmon Lovers" from the big menu board in the front. They also have a reasonable hibachi menu if fried rice and noodles are more your style. While the salmon had a bit of a fishy smell to it, it had the right texture and the right taste for sushi. 5-stars for this place...as it is clean, convenient, fast, and most importantly, tasty. The sushi is great...rivaling what we have had at much pricier places. Try the Angel's Kiss and the Double Spicy. They have a great sweet potato roll too. The tempura is really good. The entrees are excellent, especially for the price. Katsu Chicken and Shrimp...teriyaki salmon...there is a wide variety to choose from. All fresh and quickly cooked. Bento boxes are a great value! They stick to Covid protocol. I wish there was a 3 and a half stars. Sakura is the best place in the shopping center. The food is fine but nothing to get excited about. Its what I call mall Japanese food. The price is right, the food isn't poisonous. I order the Pho. For $7 and change its fine. The lady in front is always nice. There is never a crowd and the food comes quickly. This place is pretty good and for all I know is the only place you can get a nice quick bowl of PHO in calvert county. This is a fast food kinda place so you get what you pay for. Food is decent I do recommend the Pho because it is pretty good (especially on a chilli rainy day). Definitely worth the price and helps to satisfy your asian food cravings without going to DC. read more

We really like this place. They are very friendly and always greet you with a smile. The menu is fairly large for such a small place and everything I've had so far has been pretty good. The fried rice is a little weak, but the teriyaki chicken with noodles is pretty darn good. The beef tenderloin pho (soup) is very tasty and rivals some of the more expensive places in the area. The sushi is simple, but tasty. It won't compete with a "real" sushi bar, but it's good if you're in the need for a quick and less expensive sushi fix. We've been going here about once a week for about two years and plan to continue doing so. The whole place (kitchen, dinning room & bathrooms) are exceptionally clean. PRO'S: - Customer service - very friendly and fast - Restaurant is very clean - Easy-to-understand menu CON'S: - Terrible job with their chicken - - a lot of fat and ligaments - - need to take more care as I HATE biting into a hard piece of ligament or bone (yes...that's happened). - Fried rice is terrible - - trying to be nice here, but there is zero flavor. They need to get a new recipe - Shrimp is not deveined - - gross! - Shrimp is regularly overcooked. For anyone who knows shrimp, they understand how quickly shrimp cooks. 2 minutes tops! Anymore than that and you get tough/chewy shrimp. Sakura's has never gotten their shrimp right. Hope you find this useful. When I first entered the restaurant, I immediately felt very rushed with the cashier waiting and glaring at me to order. My order was also messed up. I ordered fried rice, and got fried rice. Great Japanese food! Unbelievably reasonable prices! Eat in or carry out. Their sushi is fresh and delicious. Strongly recommend the Alaska Roll and the Prince Frederick roll. Their teriyaki chicken over fried rice is a tasty treat for those who avoid sushi. Has a great lunch time trade but there is never a waiting line in the afternoon or early evening. The cooks have completed extensive training in sushi preparation. Nothing is prepared in advance so freshness is guaranteed. Never washed, but continued to handle food and took his credit card with the same hand she spit into!
