We get food from here about 4 or 5 times a year, usually fried chicken meals or party wings. Always delicious and fresh. I usually get hibachi as well. Chicken, shrimp or beef, always yummy and hot as its fresh made. Sometimes we might get General Tso, eggrolls and spring rolls or crab rangoon. There are more things on the menu to try, they have quite a selection! I have always gone in to pick up, whether ordering there or over the phone. Always friendly and helpful. Used Grubhub for delivery yesterday evening, everything great as usual, no long wait! They even called me to verify something I wasn't sure about, easy process and friendly. Can't speak to ambience other than when waiting for my orders. Its appears pretty clean, well lit, fairly spacious dining room, basic but nice decor. Of all the "asian" options in the area to get food, it's my go to for sure! read more

Ok, I read a lot of reviews that said so so. I am no food critic, but I do love to eat. I give this place 5 stars for the following reasons. - The diversity of food will satisfy anyone. Yes, great fried chicken strips. But also seafood. And the Thai dishes, stir fried eggplant, drunken noodle, and pad thai are very good. All would qualify as good at a decent thai place. The Chinese dish we love is the general tso's chicken is fantastic. The hibachi is good. The soups good. The salads good if you get chicken or shrimp. - We order takeout and we order for 5 to 7 people. Not once do they get the order wrong. - Convenient. They will do curbside pickup if you call and ask them. But they also do grubhub and other delivery services, making it super easy. - Nice people who work there. Efficient and courteous. read more

The rice bowls at this place are the best - the meat is super tender, and the veggies are crisp. Unless you're strapped for cash, fork over a little extra for the higher price steak, and you won't regret it. It's really lean and melts in your mouth. I haven't tried the chicken enough to form a really solid opinion, but I know my dad's a fan, and he's pretty critical about his fried chicken. Blah! Not sure how to categorize this place. They have American, Chinese and Japanese options. I am not a fan of places that do not 'specialize' in a certain cuisine but instead attempt to do too much. I ordered: collard greens that I watched the cashier heat up in the microwave (didn't eat them), a shrimp bowl that was bland and the 'fried rice' that came with it was nothing more than white rice with soy sauce heated up on the grill. Tom Yum soup with shrimp, ate about 5-6 spoonfuls and there was no shrimp to be found. Would not recommend this place as it is not for me. I will say the prices are reasonable if you are on a budget. read more

Didn't know what to expect as the sign out side said Japanese grill but the menu had a large cultural variety of different foods. I asked what they are known for and, obviously being a Japanese grill, they told me the hibachi. I tried the steak, chicken and shrimp combo and was pleasantly surprised how good it was. I would call this fast food hibachi, where you order it at a counter and it's prepared to order in about 5-10 minutes. They even have a large window to the kitchen if you want to watch the chef prepare your meal. The brilliance of this place is they have something on the menu for everybody, so of you want hibachi and your kids don't care for it, there's plenty to choose from to make everybody happy. Went here for some dinner. Nothing fancy. My fiancé's food was good, mine on the other hand was just.. Bleh. I ordered shrimp fried rice. It was bland with no taste and just... How does someone mess up on shrimp fried rice? How can you make something taste like nothing? I feel like I could have gotten plain white rice and frozen shrimp from the grocery store and eaten that. One of the few fried chicken places in the area. Always get an 8 piece family meal and a side of chicken livers. Usually lasts 2-3 meals for 2 adults and 2 toddlers. Mac and Cheese and mashed potatoes with gravy are good with 6 biscuits. Can't really beat it for the price!! read more

The only reason they got 2 stars is because the food was decent, I ordered general tsos with white rice and went to go pick it up they gave fried rice, so I tried to suck it up but it was disgusting so I went up and asked for the white rice I ordered then I got told I did not ask for it even though the three other people in the car heard me ask and as I am a picky eater I have always said with white rice. So he said I'll just have to get a side order of it. Did not want to pay for more rice so just sat back down, I guess they decided to give it to me anyway which is nice but the lady who brought it over rolled her eyes and just set it down and I said thank you and she ignored me and walked away. This place is great if it is the only place open. How do you make bad Miso Soup? Not just bland, but actually bad. The scallion pancakes had a texture that can only be described as fried plastic wrap. Very strange. Potstickers/fried dumplings come right out of the freezer. Kind of slimy. Not terrible, not good. I would not recommend the full hibachi entrees - mostly zucchini, which is cooked to the point of being totally limp. Just order the rice bowl. Other reviewers have mentioned that the chicken in the hibachi/bowl is good. I suppose it is. My kids like it, but I don't particuarily like the sticky sweet teraki sauce it is covered with. You can't get it any other way. Don't bother to order the tenderloin bowl. You pay extra and don't really get tenderloin. The meat is so chewy and full of gristle, you will throw almost a third of it away. Get the steak bowl instead. The meat won't be any better, but you'll pay less for it. I keep going because every time I think that it will be better. It isn't. i don't think I'll go back again. Oh, you want iced tea to drink? There is plenty of SWEET tea. You can usually get unsweet tea, but it comes out of a scuzzy looking plastic beverage server that looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years. As far as the atmosphere goes - there are two small TV's on opposite walls. Tuned to different stations. Most of the time there is no sound, also no captioning is on. What is the point???? read more

I like the environment. It is clean and encourages customers to come in and stay a little while. I like how I am able to watch food being prepared and cooked through a glass window. The food is of both good quality and quantity. I usually get their general tso's chicken. I like the flavor of the orange glaze. It is sweet with a little bit of spice and has a little bit of orange peel as an added touch. To top it all off, their rice is soft and steamed to the right texture. Hailing from Charleston, where food is predominantly magnificient, my standards are extremely high; this weekend i went to Japanese Grill with a group of friends. Upon entereing the Japanese Grill in Lusby, Maryland, the cashier greets the customer at the register, but she makes it clear she is rushed to take the customer's order. They then bring the food to the guests, who are often exhausted from long days of commuting. When I recieved my meal, my taste buds were anticipating an explosion of flavor, mostly because my nose had been wrongly deceived. In fact, in the end, I was highly disappointed in what i consumed. Just to have some sense of flavor, i had to pour practically three pounds of yum-yum sauce onto my food. Of course coming from Charleston, my taste buds are very refined, and my expectations are set at a high level. Ultimately, my experience was lackluster, but realistically, i don't expect a gourmet experience from a Lusby establishment that only claims expertise in seafood. read more
