Green chili is "spot on", margaritas are great, service is attentive and the DJ was fun. We really enjoyed it here!

Jan 2024. Show Low location CLOSED! New location is in Pinetop, one block behind the movie theatre right on Woodland Road! No need for the address it's easy to see the big sign. We gave our two breakfast plates 4 stars. Chips & hot salsa was very good. Chorizo plate delicious, but/and very mild - I like chorizo and thus added a lot of salsa to mine. The beans are very good, and take note.... no need to order hashbrowns extra crispy here - let the cook serve them as he most often does. The Mexicano Plate was beautiful- tasted good but my husband didn't like the pickled jalapeños in the dish at all as it made the eggs too sweet. He preferred my chorizo in the end. Tortillas very soft and nice. Service was quick. We bought green corn tamales and can't wait to try them.

Wow. Just wow. Let's start with the service. The unpleasant "hostess" sat me at a nasty booth and left. No greeting. No"your server will be right with you". Once I finally got a menun the waitress acted like she was put out to take my order. When my order finally came...: The most horrible mexican food I have EVER had. The salsa appreard to be a can of stewed tomatoes thrown in bowl. The taco salad "special" was special alright. Special that it should have gone strait in the trash. I paid $13 for a bowl of lettuce, a few tablespoons of shredded beef (at best boiled in plain water), a few CANNED bean. Honestly, it was disgusting and inedible. I was served flavorless gruel and I couldn't wait to get out of that place. But could I? No! They held me hostage! First had to ask no less than 3 times for the check. Then never came back. I finally just slapped a $20 on the table and got the heck out. How they are in business I'll never know. Sal and Teresa should be ashamed.

Best Mexican food in Pinetop. Green chili is great, margarita was too. We judge Mexican food by its rice and this was good rice!

They have live music on Friday and Saturday nights, and every band we've seen has been fantastic. We also joined in on Musical BINGO, and my husband actually won! It was such a fun and lively experience. The bartenders are friendly, engaging, and made us feel right at home. They even recognized us on our second visit, which was such an unexpected and wonderful touch. The food is amazing, too. The hamburgers are terrific, and the drinks definitely hit the spot. You can sit at the bar, relax at a table inside where it is nice and cool, or enjoy the outdoor deck overlooking the sound stage. There is also a lower seating area for anyone who likes being closer to the music and all the action. The Den is also dog-friendly, which is a huge plus when you are traveling with your furry family member--just remember to keep them off the grass. During the band, children were playing on the lawn, families were relaxing, and everyone seemed to be having a wonderful time. The entire evening felt fun, welcoming, wholesome, and full of great energy. Between the music, food, drinks, friendly service, and beautiful outdoor setting, The Den has quickly become one of our favorite places in Pinetop. We highly recommend stopping by!

Evidently she was the owner's sister but, the way she treated me and a few other people in line blew me away. She made a much older, disabled woman walk all the way back to her car to get her ID even though the woman was in the night before. When someone pointed out that she could look her name up on the guest list, the owner/sister(?) said, "that sounds like a YOU problem" ~ what?! You'd think they didn't rely on customers to keep their doors open. I drove 8.5 hours to go to Lions Den and see Pinetop. I doubt I'd come back that way. And, the Wine Burger? It's "OK" ~ it's a burger. I'm not sure what the big deal is.

At dinner, each of us had one espresso martini. No one was intoxicated, slurring words, or behaving badly. We arrived together in a lifted pickup truck Uber. As we stepped out, one friend--wearing stiletto heels--briefly slipped on the gravel parking lot (because let's face it, gravel and stilettos gravel don't go together) She immediately caught herself and was completely fine. The moment we walked inside, we were met with the craziest hostility. The brunette behind the counter aggressively interrogated me and another friend about how many drinks we'd had and where we'd been. I fully understand that staff have a responsibility to monitor their guests for safety, but the condescending tone and confrontational delivery were entirely unprofessional. This rbf brunette was literally yelling at us for no reason at all. So as I'm trying to calmly answer all her questions, (even though her tone was rude as hell) she actually turned her chair away from me and began vaping mid-conversation. Yes--vaping. I'm like, are u really just going to turn around, treat me like a dog and start Vaping?! So I asked her to please turn around and at least look at me while I was speaking. But at this point, now I feel incredibly disrespected and ask to speak to a manager. So she rolls her eyes and yells for the "manager" to come in. I started laughing at this point because whoever came in was clearly not the manager... It was a blonde girl who appeared to be just barely 21 and had glowing neon paint drawn all over her nose, eyebrows and jaw, and was wearing booty shorts and some other raver attire. This chick looked like she was on her way to Coachella over actually managing an establishment. I wish I was making this up!! In all of the years that I have worked the service industry in my 20's (serving, bartending, cocktailing, in Scottsdale) I have NEVER been treated with such disrespect and hostility. At this point, my friends and I didn't even want to go in and spend $$$ there. From that point on, we were dismissed and treated like a liability rather than paying customers--all because someone briefly slipped on their own gravel lot. No one was drunk. No one was disruptive. We were simply asking for basic respect and professionalism. We won't be returning, and I strongly suggest others think twice before coming here--especially if you value being treated like a human being. I rarely leave negative reviews; most of mine are positive. But this experience earned every word of mine if not more. Final thought: If a place is this eager to judge, dismiss, and humiliate guests before they even make it past the entry, imagine how they handle things when something actually goes wrong. (Which I'm sure is a nightly event) And know they're going to somehow turn this around on us like it was our fault, so I'm grabbing my popcorn and will be ready for a good laugh bc this place was a JOKE!
