The guacamole and the accompanying flour chips were a great start, and the Carne Asada Enchiladas were packed with flavor, though the sauce was a bit milder than I expected. The Beef Enchilada was outstanding, featuring delicious tortillas and a bold, savory profile. We also tried the Navajo Taco, which was very good, though like the enchiladas, it leaned toward a milder flavor profile. The drink specials are a steal; the Margaritas were delicious and a great value for the size at just five dollars, and the Estrella Jalisco was a solid pick at only three dollars. Beyond the menu, the service was incredible. The staff was fast, well-mannered, and attentive. The food is always great, but what really makes this place shine, is the staff! Always friendly, and fun. They work so hard to make sure their customers are taken care of. We gave our two breakfast plates 4 stars. Chips & hot salsa was very good. Chorizo plate delicious, but/and very mild - I like chorizo and thus added a lot of salsa to mine. The beans are very good, and take note.... no need to order hashbrowns extra crispy here - let the cook serve them as he most often does. The Mexicano Plate was beautiful- tasted good but my husband didn't like the pickled jalapeños in the dish at all as it made the eggs too sweet. He preferred my chorizo in the end. Tortillas very soft and nice. Service was quick. We bought green corn tamales and can't wait to try them. read more

Wow. Just wow. Let's start with the service. The unpleasant "hostess" sat me at a nasty booth and left. No greeting. No"your server will be right with you". Once I finally got a menun the waitress acted like she was put out to take my order. When my order finally came...: The most horrible mexican food I have EVER had. The salsa appreard to be a can of stewed tomatoes thrown in bowl. The taco salad "special" was special alright. Special that it should have gone strait in the trash. I paid $13 for a bowl of lettuce, a few tablespoons of shredded beef (at best boiled in plain water), a few CANNED bean. Honestly, it was disgusting and inedible. I was served flavorless gruel and I couldn't wait to get out of that place. But could I? No! They held me hostage! First had to ask no less than 3 times for the check. Then never came back. Food so under seasoned. Tasteless & dry shredded beef. No flavor and very little red sauce for $3 extra. My so called flauta was really a well overdone taquito. Even hot sauce was bland. Even salt did not help the guacamole. Really wanted to like this place but we will not be returning. read more

Horrible!!!! Felt off entering, the vibe is strange. Was seated and brought drinks. They were busy for 1pm Thursday. Waitress was answering phone, bussing tables and waiting on the entire restaurant. Explained this was our 1st visit, we asked questions but waitress was so vague. The food arrived and it was horrible. Red Chile beef burrito. Red is hotter than green. NO!!!! We were thrilled to find this place for lunch and had high expectations. It was after 1pm so we missed most of the lunch crowd and found a table outside. The chips and salsa were delicious, we had both the "hot" and mild and both were tasty with out much heat. And then we waited and waited, by the time we got our food we were so hungry. It obviously had been sitting a while, the green chili, which was pink, had skin formed on it. My pósale was good, also lukewarm warm, as was the Machacha and beans. Yeah I know we should have complained and sent it back but 1) we had waited so long already 2) hot food is basic minimum. We won't be making a return visit, but i hope they can improve. read more

Keep looking for good Mexican food in the area. Honestly, I haven't found a place locally that is any better than mediocre. And this place was mediocre. With one exception, nothing was terrible. It was just pretty bland. And the homemade tamales had nothing in them to speak of, were too doughy and made with too much maza, and relied on some sauce to flavor them. The only bad part of the meal was the margarita. There was little or no tequila evident, and the ice actually tasted bad, like the icemaker was dirty. We have liked Sal & Teresa's for sometime. The Show Low location was always full. Good food and service. They moved to Pinetop-Lakeside. It's just not the same. All three times we dined there was problematic. Order incorrect. Breakfast barely warm and burnt. Dinner mediocre. And our last visit 3 times my husband's burrito was incorrrect. How can they screw up a meal 3 times. By the time he got his correct order my food was cold and our friends had eaten and were leaving. For our trouble we were given a 10 percent discount on his meal only. We won't go back. read more

1.5/5 stars I am so sad to have to give this restaurant a 2 star rating. I had high hopes it would be good but it just wasn't good :( We got there and the place was packed!! And the couple before me and the pile after me formed the second wave that would keep the restaurant packed for a couple more hours! This gave me more hope. We were told a 10 minute wait and 15 minutes (quite good for guessing how fast people would finish & leave) later we were shown to our table and given menus. Adrian (more later about him) took drink orders and our food order since our menus were closed. Great eye, Adrian! I ordered margaritas and mentioned the $1 off for Yelp check-in and he started saying it's Tuesday (so I started the evil eye) so margaritas are $1.50 off for happy hour! Our margaritas came fast in a large plastic soda glasses (guess that's because they ran out of margarita glasses I saw on tables due to the large group). Ok. I'm not gonna complain since it's big. Chips and salsa were also given. The chips were just ok. Thin and crispy but no flavor-maybe old? The salsas (we were offered hot as well as the regular salsa. YES!) were ok. Food came shortly after the drinks. Hubs ordered beef & chicken fajitas and I got the Teresa's especial chile rellenos. It looked as if the kitchen was crazy busy. On hubs plate was a big ball of sour cream which obliterated the salad and onto the rice-beans. The tortillas wrapped in foil were plopped on the refried beans so they stuck. I had to remove them and scrape beans off. The fajita meat was over marinated and hubs said the chicken texture was like marshmallows. Eww! The chile relleno was barely warm, had a thick enchilada type sauce not the thin fresh sauce I'm used to and an orange cheese inside that wasn't good. We didn't eat either meal. The food was just awful. The beans and rice were the only thing we both ate. They weren't great but not bad. I didn't even finish my margarita as it had an off flavor =0 Service was the one bright spot of tonight. The kitchen and servers were a well oiled machine. They put food out fast. Adrian was amazing. He was friendly, professional and never missed a beat. He knew what we needed and even offered more salsa when he saw one bowl was low. He is 5+ stars by himself. Too bad the food brought the score down to 1.5/5 stars. If they could improve the food, they would get higher scores. But I guess, cheap wins over flavor here. read more

I stayed up the street @ the holiday inn and I went with the reviews on Yelp and decided to try this place rather than the one that's literally next door. First off the place was busy so that made me think ok this will be good but overall it was a mistake. There's no social distancing due to Covid just so u know. The chips were horribly stale and I asked for a new batch & the second round was really good but she said if I wanted another round it would cost me wth seriously your first batch were not even edible. So here's where it went south. I ordered the #6 but I asked for one chicken one hamburger and one cheese with double rice. She said absolutely no problem & walked off. The food was actually really good & I have no problem there. The issue was when she gave me the ticket she charged me for the #6 then added on for a cheese enchilada. $19.75 for what should've been $13 I just feel like I was bamboozled I asked what the heck and there wasn't much explanation other than I was charged for the beef when i had originally asked for hamburger not shredded steak Like I said the food was outstanding but the explanation on what I was getting never was explained before I ordered. We had dinner there after hearing how good the food was and I was very disappointed with the amount of green chile that they put in a burrito. It was maybe a large spoon full with 4 small pieces of meat, just enough to taste the green chile, ordered the chimichangas plate and paid $18 for it. For a minute i thought it was a pancake that is how small it was. When the waitress asked how everything was , i said not that good and she walked off. We had to ask 4 times for the extra hot salsa and more chips. Service was slow to start but ended good only because it was time to get our check.
