We've been going to Torreon Grill for about six years, and it's always been nice. One of the upscale restaurants in Show Low. But this past year they've hired a new F&B manager, and they've really picked up their game. They have an extensive menu, with entrees like salmon, steak, chicken etc, along with burgers, sandwiches and great appetizers. We were there last night for their weekly Fiesta night which featured chicken tostadas, along with the regular menu. I tried the tostadas, which were excellent, and my wife the fish tacos, also very good. I don't think you can get a bad meal here, and it's not just for Torreon residents, but is open to the public. Overall experience wasn't the best, the salmon for the menu I had was phenomenal. However the roasted chicken leg my daughter received was far from terrible. The chicken leg was so raw it looked inedible and was a deep blood red color. I asked the waitress to take it back however she came back with the chicken and the statement of the Chef saying it was "cooked to temperature" and that he was a "3 time awarding chef". I was dissapointed by the chefs decisions and won't be coming back ever. The waitress apologized and removed the chicken off of our bill, the food and ambiance was good but the chefs decisions and really raw chicken ruined the experience. read more

Save your money & time, and we are even residents at Torreon. I felt compelled to write this to help someone who is considering dining here. We tried the Wednesday Prime Rib night tonight and ordered the 16 Oz Prime Rib (Med Rare), Baked Potato with Creamy Horseradish. When asked how we would like the Baked Potato, we said fully loaded. I'll add that we waited 15 minutes before a waiter/waitress even acknowledged us. Our food came out 40 minutes later! The potato was bleak and lukewarm. No butter. No anything. Fully loaded was fully barren. No Aus Ju or horseradish for the Prime Rib either, and the Prime Rib was actually COLD.. Cold to the touch. The waiter took our plate and came back confirming that it was cold, as did the Chef.When asked if we wanted a new order, we politely declined waiting another 40 minutes, paid for our Coke, tipped the waiter, and left. We felt bad for him that his Cook is serving cold food. Not his fault.. Terrible service & even worse food. read more

Our party of four sat down and wasn't approached by ANYBODY for 10 minutes. From the looks of it they were either under staffed or over booked. We left and went to a competitor across the street. We were given our drinks immediately and when we got our dinner, a seventh grader in our party commented that we'd probably still be waiting at Torreón. Torreón needs to hire someone with knowledge of the restaurant business. They are losing business big time! read more

So glad the Club Restaurant is open again. My family had reservations for Easter Brunch. The staff at the restaurant are always so friendly and welcoming. They make us feel like family every time that we visit. The Easter Brunch was amazing. My wife and I both had the Chilean Sea Bass and it was to die for. My son and my dad had the prime rib and loved it. Everything was fantastic. We are looking forward to the Mother's Day special. read more

The restaurant improvements are great. The view of the pine trees is very pleasant for a dinner setting. We shared a Wedge Salad which was very crisp and delicious. My wife had the Shrimp Scampi and she loved it. It was a generous meal. I had the Filet with a Loaded Baked Potato. What a great meal. Mikala was the best. After seeing the restaurant through some difficult times, I'm so excited to let everyone know that chef Eric Rippie has taken over as chef, and all I can say is...WOW. We had dinner and every single thing, from the Calamari in AgreDolce, to the roasted chicken with fingerling potatoes, to my husband's salmon dish, everything was cooked to perfection. The dessert was innovative and beautifully presented. Chef Rippie, we are so glad to have you in Torreon. The service has also been stepped up-wonderful! If you haven't been in a while, it will be such an amazing surprise. My three words for this experience, are innovative, surprising, and budget-friendly, even for a special dinner. read more

Food is always fresh and great, upscale atmosphere compared to most other restaurants around. The service is always awesome. Too bad they are not open year round, a shame honestly. I tend to order salads and I'm very picky about my salad greens being crisp, never an issue. The chicken for their salads is not some frozen and reheated piece of chicken, it's fresh and tasty. The food on my plate was overcooked the food on my husband's plate was well done and uneatable! Our two friends said that it tasted like it had been reheated from a day before! When you walk in the Ambiance is nice it's quiet it's peaceful the patio is also very nice that's as far as I will go as far as nice it's concerned. Don't complain about the food because they really don't care if you like it or not! And if you don't leave a trip for the waiter or waitress they will follow you out the door and call you names! ** BEWARE: Patio Seating is for Members Only ** We decided to try this place for lunch because it was a beautiful day and we wanted to sit outside. When we walked in we were asked if we were members. We said no, and were informed that the outside seating was for members only. Seriously. This was a weekday at 3pm and the place was nearly empty. The patio seating was almost entirely empty. We had to sit in the bar. We only stayed because we were starving. The food alright, but we will not be back. read more

This review is for the Torreon Grille, at Torreon Golf Club. It is more like a bar with a very limited menu, but they did have good options and surprisingly very good prices as well. They do have some $7 specials, and $5 soups. The view from inside and from the patio seating was beautiful. All the staff we interacted with was very friendly and our server Jennifer took really good care of us, she also set up the heater for us in the patio. We had a few drinks and some food items from the specials and the regular menu, including cheese dip and chips, soup of the day (chipotle chicken) and green chili. Looking forward to visiting this place again once we are back in town. read more

My husband and I are new to the area and have eaten here three times and the food has been outstanding. The dinner menu is limited to about 10 things but you can also order from the lunch menu, which has a good selection. The service has been very good except slow on one occasion, but in all fairness they are having trouble getting staff. This chef is very talented!!! I hope everyone will ignore last years reviews from what I understand at that time they had a different chef!!! Give it a try!!! read more

I eat out quite a bit in Show Low, Pinetop-Lakeside, wagon wheel and snowflake. I'm not a food critic but I do consider myself a picky eater. This is one of the better Golf Club restaurants I've ever been to. I like the soup/chili of the month. I keep my ordering simple and so far everything has been good enough to keep me coming back. The staff is nice. My drinks are never dry and atmosphere is comfortable. read more

We walked up for breakfast with our dogs. Last year Torreon welcome our dogs on the patio. This year they asked us to leave and they asked if they were service dogs. I was very disappointed since this is our local restaurant. We will go to more dog friendly patio from now on. It is a shame since there's not that much business at Torreon for breakfast. read more

Had lunch there last week. Ordered a Ruben sandwich. Asked for it on sourdough and not rye. Sandwich arrived on rye and without sauerkraut and loaded with cheese. Never had a Ruben like that before. Whatever happened to their wonderful menus? Things have really changed since my last review and I will not return. read more

One star for the views and server effort. We had dinner this Saturday night, group of six. We were greeted and seated promptly. Server was pleasant and she did a good job of explaining the specials of the day. We order our dinners and three of the guests order the pork chops. Upon receiving our dinners, the runner had no idea who ordered what as he was trying to figure out where to put each dish. Lack of training by management, who by the way kept walking back and forth asking if the servers were ok, but never bothered to pick up a glass or carry anything back to the kitchen. Here is the problem...one of the pork chops was served raw. How do you get two out of three right when you ordered the same meal times three. They go down at the same time and come out the same time. The raw pork was sent back. Server apologized and reordered the pork chop. Kitchen did a horrible job. It took a good thirty minutes to get the food back to the table and by then we all had finished eating except for my wife who was still waiting for her food. In that time not once did the manager on duty come to our table to apologize for the wait or the kitchen screwing up. The server however did apologize and told us they were comping the raw meal. This review is for the restaurant. This place is nice but that's about it: Pros- 1. Beautiful views. If you are a golfer you will enjoy a great trip through the pines and evergreens. 2. The weather. To get away from the heat of Phoenix or any other low lying metro area. 3. The staff is nice. 4. The food is better than most golf club fare. Cons- 1. Slooooowwwww! The wait staff and the kitchen is slow as molasses and that is fast for them. They open the restaurant on a Sunday at 7AM & only have 1 wait staff to attend nearly 20 patrons. 2. The club members are pretty intolerant of visitors. Down right mean. I may return to play golf, but likely will eat in town or pack my own. read more

Great location in the pines but the quality of the food and service is not good compared to 3 years ago. On July 4th we had dinner reservations and the meal was a disaster. The gnocchi was cold, chicken for the 2 salads did not come until we were close to finishing the salads, a burger was ordered medium rare and came well done, etc. etc. The menu is limited and prices high. In the future better option to drive to Show Low or Pinetop/Lakeside. They have some good restaurants with quality food and prices are reasonable. read more
