It was a bit challenging to find a dine in restaurant to eat at on a Tuesday for lunch. Located coastally with a beautiful beach view, we were promptly greeted and seated on the patio. We started our meal by ordering apps: mofongitos (mini mofongos) with beef (so tasty) and cauliflower wings (also very good). As for our entrees, we ordered stewed beef with onions, white rice, and habicheulas (stewed beans). Everything was very flavorful and delicious! The star of this meal were the drinks (pina coladas). OMG, they were the BEST pina coladas I have ever had! Not too sweet, very fresh, and smooth! Our server was also very attentive, friendly, and accomodating (we moved to another table due to the strong sun blaring on us).
Great restaurant with an amazing ocean front view. From the rooftop bar, to the fantastic mojitos. Best place on the Aguadilla beach front strip! The servers are awesome, always making sure you have what you need and are comfortable! Food is top notch! Made to order and taste delicioso!! A must when in Aguadilla!!
I went there one night on a recommendation from one of the locals. I had Grouper that came with two sides. I chose a salad and mofongo. The fish tasted fresh. The mofongo was a slightly harder in consistency than what I had at other places on the island but tasted just as fine. It was a very relaxed atmosphere. It was a shame I went late and couldn't get the sea view but the breeze made up for it. I was greeted by an adorable cat. Relatively affordable prices and prompt service. They do have parking in their backyard but I ended up finding a spot right in front of the restaurant.
Sal De Mar is a must if you are in Aguadilla! The location is beautiful overlooking the water. We sat on the rooftop which was nice. There are also lots of things to do in this area before or after you grab a bite to eat. We tried a little bit of everything here. We started off with bacalitos which I highly recommend! We also got a variety of empanadas. For our entree I got the seafood mofongo with garlic sauce. The seafood was so fresh and tasty! This was the best conch I've ever had -- super tender. My husband had the whole snapper which he also enjoyed. They have some many great options and the price is so affordable! The service here is also spot on.
We were on a romantic vacation in right after Thanksgiving. We stayed in beautiful Aguadilla. Our 3rd day here was raining at night and put a little blunder in our plans. We wanted to eat in a rooftop restaurant overlooking the water. We stumbled upon Sal de Mar . The rain flooded the streets so we had to park a ways ahead to cross the street to the restaurant. We were seated at the top of restaurant . It did get dark really fast so our views went away but by then the rain subsided. We were able to watch the thunder and lightning above which was very pretty. Our meals were very delicious. I had the asopao contestants and seafood. A delicious seafood soup which also had rice and fried plantains on the side. The pot was definitely big enough for 2 but I didn't realize when ordering. We also had bacalaitos about 6 of them( fried cod fish with a coriander cream sauce in top and pico de gallo) . They were ok. Not your typical bacalaitos, these seemed kind of hard and rubbery. My husband had the mofongo with seafood and he did enjoy it very much. The service was ok. Two girls at the top but they kept having to go downstairs for everything and we were the only couple sitting in the rooftop so I felt they forgot us alot. Overall not a bad experience. I would love to come by when the weather is nicer and earlier in the day vs 5pm when it got dark fast.
I come here every time I'm in PR. The food, service, and atmosphere is all amazing. Also, this is the ONLY place I've found in PR with a good hot sauce. I'm telling you - this thing is sold in tiny bottles with a dropper. It goes great on everything. I usually buy a few bottles to take home! The rooftop is nice and it's good for families too. My kids usually have the pollitos. The mofongo is on point. If you come here, you must order something with seafood!
Jomarie is our Server; very professional & sweet. Great cocktail; The Coral is very balanced and appetite opener. Spectacular food; the Tostones with land Crab are huge and delicious. Very chunky Lobster cream with lots of lobster. The Lobster entree portion with Mofongo and the Rice with Crab and tostones is huge. We took it to our Airbnb because is super tasty. Awesome Sunset from the rooftop and very nice ambiance. A place to return many times. Great prices for the quality & quantity. Highly recommended!
When you park and turn around, the view is epic. The restaurant is located on prime real estate exactly where the sun goes down over the bay in Aguadilla. I must say: location, location, location, location! As for the dining experience, there was room for improvement. The seafood mufungo did not have fresh ingredients and I do not recommend it. But my partner enjoyed her meal of whole snapper. The service was slow and a bit inattentive (drink refills and long wait for bill). However, it did not ruin an overall enjoyable atmosphere as we hung around until it was dark out. read more
No wait for a table when I visited, though it was a rainy weeknight. The mofongo is amazing here. Snapper was kind of dry, but the potatoes it came with were fire. Also liked the passionfruit mojito and ceviche. Skip the cauliflower wings. read more
Sal De Mar is a PuertoRican restaurant located south of the Town Plaza on the Marina walk by the beach in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. The place is extremely large with plenty of indoor, outdoor & rooftop seating in a semi-dimly lit, tropically designed setting. There's also outdoor back-of-restaurant parking. The place is loud, festive & great for large groups & families. The food is delicious & typical of island food & the platters are enormous & feed quite a few people. I especially enjoy the sampler platter that has fried cheese, plantain balls, meat, breaded fish nuggets, corn sticks, dipping sauces, etc. The menu has a large assortment of traditional foods to pick from & the cocktails & fresh lemonade are good. The staff is friendly & fast & you'll have no lack of entertainment whether it's looking out at the ocean or listening to the sounds of passerby's or festive cars decorated with lights & playing music. This is a great place to take in & enjoy island life, especially at night. read more

This restaurant is near the beach in Aquadilla and a beautiful view of beach. The food was large portions and delicious. The prices are great! Our server was wonderful and her suggestions were superb! A definite place to check out if you are in town. read more

I still think about my first time on the island by myself and I smile when I think of Sal de Mar. I stayed in the AirBnb right next to this place, enjoyed the ocean lulling me to sleep, and had many a snack and cocktail! read more

Hands down my favorite restaurant I went to in PR! Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding and I had plenty of leftovers that I enjoyed the next day. The rooftop seating was also very nice! I'll be returning next time I'm in Puerto Rico! read more

While in Aguadilla, PR I was recommended this restaurant for dinner and must say it was the best choice for the night. It is located in front of the beach great view, The service was exceptional and friendly, and the vibe in the restaurant was very Jolly and happy. The food was delicious and very well prepared and the portions were out of this world. I had the seafood Paella and wow it was delicious seafood was hefty meaning not a blind paella. My son had the stuffed mofongo with chicken and the same he said it was one of the best mofongos he's had. we also had drinks he had the arenas and I had a coconut mojito very well prepared and we enjoyed the drinks a lot, there's a downstairs area to eat with a bar and a second-floor open space with a bar as well. If you are in the Aguadilla area give this restaurant a try. read more

We came here last minute while looking for a place after taking fat nap at our airbnb... We really appreciated the staff working after work hours to accommodate us. For the price, this place was so worth it. The vibe was good too as it was by the water and they gave a hint of night life with their music. The mofongo was one of the best I had in Puerto Rico. It is really big portion so I suggest sharing with another friend or two!! read more

Food was great but service lacks a lot. Appetizers were served with no plates, even though they were big chunks of fried fish. When we asked for plates, the waitress brought only one. We were a party of two. We also asked for extra sauce but it never came! Main course took forever; over an hour. Drinks took forever too, so you better be ready to eat without a drop of liquid in your mouth. Part of the issue was that the kitchen and the bar are located on the first floor, although most of customers were sitting on the rooftop because of the very nice view. Waitresses weren't equipped to provide other than plastic utensils and water bottles. Good management will reconsider configuration and logistics of this place to efficiently and timely better serve the customers. Make sure you bring a flashlight if you are eating here after sunset. Very poor lighting. Very challenging to see what you are eating. I'm still wondering how an unleashed dog was allowed into the restaurant. The dog was free range, wondering around every table. read more
This is my favorite spot when I come back home. The views from the entrance to the restaurant and the rooftop is absolutely breathtaking! The lively music from my island compliments the experience. The food is always freshly cooked, comes out on time, the local fish, calamari and shrimps are fresh caught and delicious as well. NOW...let's talk about the service.............ALWAYS warm and very attentive. Gracias Carol! Impeccable service with a smile! Arrived late, decided to check out this beachside spot. Prime location, diverse menu, fantastic drinks, and the snapper I had was a perfect 10/10 - incredibly fresh! You can eat inside but there's also a cool rooftop. read more
I came here with a group of girls for dinner one evening, and we were immediately sat on the rooftop. There happened to be a heat wave moving through Puerto Rico at this time, so it was very hot up there, but it did not take away from the overall experience. The restaurant sits right on the coast and has spectacular ocean views. Our service was top-notch, and we were immediately greeted by our waitress as soon as we sat down. For appetizers, we split the mofonguitos de ropa vieja, ceviche and calamari. Every single dish hit the mark. For my entree, I chose the tri-mofongo. The creamy garlic sauce was a nice added touch. I wish we had more time to enjoy Aguadilla because it's a nice, lively beach town. If you're in the area, I highly recommend coming here! read more

One of the best restaurant we ever been to!! That day was NYE and we didn't know we had to make reservation through phone call or Facebook. We told them we are Deaf and can't hear on phone and on Facebook, its doesn't work to get reservation. Luckily, the owner is very nice and let us dine in. One of our waiter was so nice and friendly! Very patience with us and communicate with phone. He gave us many good recommendation on food. We didn't get his name , he looked pretty young and wear cap. We recommend him for best service! Even other staffs are very friendly too! Anyway, their food are the bombs! Soo good and overwhelming to taste it! Haha! We didnt know that have options sauce for mofongo! We will visit again to try different mofongo & other dishes!! It is in Aguadilla, have plenty street parking, and they do have nice bathroom. They play pretty good music based on our feeling of vibration of music beats. read more
