I have been looking for someone to remove one wall of wallpaper after a skylight leak. I had two estimates where someone came out, but never sent an estimate. I recently use Salacki painting (finished this Wednesday April 3, 2019). - Ray was prompt and quick to come for an estimate - The crew he hired did an ok job painting my house. Note, only on the painting itself. - I've now been back to my old house since and see a lot of issues after the painting, hence the update. Looking back, I should not have use this company at all, I was hoping that they did a professional job, so when they're done, I can have the old house ready for listing. Instead, his crew did a terrible job that left me with a lot of work, cleaning up after his crew, I literally paid somebody to paint my house, then not everything was painted and left a lot of mess I have to deal with, I wasted my money and my time (taking about 2 days to clean up). What upset me the most for my last job with Ray Salacki painting are: - The painting is not professionally done. A professional painter would not leave so much splatter of paints all over my wood floor. I had to kneel down and spent a lot time, literally use my nail to get some of the paint off my wooden floor. This paint splatter is all over in all the rooms everywhere. So after Salacki's crew is done, I have to spend the entire day to clean up the splatter paints all over. - The crew painted shut some of my windows. I had to spend a lot of time carefully using scrapper and knife to free the window from the frame. It is very unprofessional because nobody would paint somebody's window or door shut. After the paint is dry, I can NO LONGER open those windows. - The crew also did a half ass job on some of the doors, for example, he would paint the inside but not outside, he would paint the top hoping that you did not see that bottom was not painted. - The house look like a mess after his crew were done, and I was counting on being able to be show ready after they're done. Looks like I have to spent a few more days to really clean up. - The crew left 4 big bags of trash, not the kind that neatly put away in the bag, it's the kind that left soiled paper towel all over, the paint can was not closed properly and so it leaks. So I took care of everything carefully still got some paints leaked out. - The thing that frustrated me and disgusted me the most is: his crew stuffed about 6 or 7 folded paper towel in my toilet. I'm not sure what happened, maybe he's in a rush or something, the paper towels are probably soiled with paint. At first I just notice a small corner of left over paper towel in my toilet hole, so I flush thinking it needs to go down. Then water backs up and over the toilet bowl and flooded my bathroom floor. I ended up grabbing the corner and pull out, not one or two, but 6 or 7 paper towels. Only god knows how many more the crew stuffed in there. Who does that? Is he stupid or something? - Some of my windows are painted shut, so I am going to have to cut it open. read more

Salacki Painting has done two jobs for us, both to our total satisfaction. The first project was to remove wallpaper from our foyer and then paint the foyer, living room, dining room and upstairs hallway after removing wallpaper trim. After the wallpaper removal the walls needed quite a bit of spackling and fixing and even with all of the preventive measures of plastic being placed on the floors and hung over door openings is was quite a dusty mess. The final project turned out great. Being as pleased as we were, Salacki Painting came back to do the kitchen and upstairs bathroom, again with excellent results. We recently hired Ray with the high recommendations and praise from my parents who have been using him in the past. He provided us a very reasonable quote for the amount of areas we had painted- 2 bedrooms, a hallway, stairwell and their doors, ceilings and mouldings. He also went above and beyond with making sure all of the dings, dents and chips were properly patched up before the painting (vs. just painting over them). Ray and his crew are painting pros that have a terrific eye for detail. They know how to paint and repair almost any surface, interior, and exterior. Just completed a long project that went much faster than anticipated. Started with power washing my 40 x 10-foot deck and finished with a perfect staining job. Then they tackled the nasty job of removing several rooms of wallpaper, including a large hallway, and smoothing out the walls. You will want to have all your colors selected because when you see the outstanding work done by Ray and his crew, you will start adding more rooms to paint! Trust me, I know. Ray's recommendation is that you don't buy any paint until you are ready to paint the room. He's right on that advice, and I took it. Our final project was our garage, which now looks like a showroom. I have worked with a lot of painters, and the one thing about Ray and his crew that stands out from the rest, other than price and quality, is that they are passionate about their work. I hired Ray in Aug. 2015 based on the other 4 reviews on Yelp. But my experience was not as satisfactory. You be the judge. Per agreement I supplied the paint. This was 3 sides (the front is vinyl sided) of a small ranch house. The sq. footage was 648 sq ft times 2 coats of finish paint = 1,296 sq. ft to cover. The good-quality Benj. Moore exterior paint coverage is listed as 300-350 sq. ft. THEY USED 10 GALS OF IT! That would be enough to cover 3000-3500 sq ft. not 1296. So how did they do it? Let's judge by results: It became apparent after Jorge finished the south side wall of the house. The other 2 walls had wood siding that was over 30 yrs. old since their last paint job & needed a good bit of scraping old paint & puttying separated spots. But the south wall had brand new siding as of Oct 2014 that was preprimed & in perfect condition, only needing the final 2 finish coats, unlike the worn other sides that needed fixing & priming too. But the nice, perfect finish (BEFORE they painted) of the new grooved cedar plank siding now looks worse than before. Namely, many, many spots of paint runs that are thick, & paint globs accumulated at the bottom edges of the siding. There's even a spot where it looks like they rested the roller against the house, & didn't lay of the marks after doing so. A professional painting crew might roll the paint on initially, but especially with grooved siding, should have laid it off with a brush afterward. And shout NOT be leaving raised ridges of paint horizontal to the grooves & at the bottoms. So I think that rolling the paint on thick & heavy is where the 10 gallons - & the $513 I paid for that - went.Sure the siding's grooved, but not to the extent that you use up the equivalent of 3000-3500 sq. ft of paint on less than 1300 sq. ft. And to top it off, Ray added an extra $100 to the original estimate which was for painting some basement window frames - & I had been ok with that when we originally agreed to him doing the work, but after we clearly voiced the displeasure with the result..... Yes, I paid him exactly what he asked for. - but he didn't offer to reduce the amount any nor try to remediate the work. It was a rainy day & he had his van filled with workers to go off to the next job too. The bottom line was that the price of $1050 ended up being $1563. because of the excessive use of paint that I bought. After they left, we could see that they left lots of paint in all 10 cans too, & made no effort to use it well. Is it a horrible job? No - because it's exterior it isn't as awful or apparent as it would be on an interior wall, or a smooth surface. Was it worth the true cost of $1563? No. But you be the judge. read more

Hired Salacki Painting for most of my interior house. They did a great job on the exterior of my old house years ago so I hired them for this job. The workers are very skilled and courteous. They have been doing one or two rooms at a time each week, working around my schedule. I have been able to text Ray on short notice on when to come over since I have a busy work schedule. He was able to get his painters over every time on the day I requested with a few quick texts with the day, time, room, color, and finish. This was very convenient. The workmanship was excellent. I had some really dark walls and trim and they are all refreshed and lightened up. I didn't even think to ask but many of my walls needed repair and they just did it where needed including a skim coat over some bad sanded paint in my hallway. Also repaired numerous nail pops and gaps due to house settling. My wife and I are very happy with the jobs his team has done and we have a few more rooms to go. And his rates are very reasonable. I would highly recommend Salacki Painting. They helped paint my townhouse recently and did a great job. Ray Salacki is a gentleman and very polite. I believe that his charges were appropriate. Ray has good tips on the paint finish required for each area - if you are confused about Eggshell, Matte.. I am very pleased with Rajmund Salacki's work on my house. He and his crew painted the exterior of my two story home. His price was very reasonable ( well below the other bids that I collected). The work was started and completed on schedule. He and his crew acted in a professional way. His communication with me was excellent...answering my questions and keeping me informed on the progress of the project. His crew even put up with the constant barking of my two dogs.
