I have not had SaG in a while. It used to be a go to when I was working in the office. Today I picked up 3 Cobb Salads with the upcharge for"double chicken". The salads were a disappointment. If what we received was double chicken, I would hate to see what the regular order would have been. The salad dressing was almost nearly flavorless. Produce - leafy greens weren't too bad. Tomatoes in every salad, rotten. It ruined my appetite, so I only ate about half. My husband reported the same, rotten tomatoes. I have been to another Salad and Go location in Gilbert, and the portion size has gone down dramatically at the ST Valley location. The flavor was good, but the avocado slices were very paltry, the hard boiled egg was the size of a golf ball and the overall portioning was a major disappointment. Also was told that due to a romaine shortage, that I would have to have half mixed greens and half romaine on my order. This is odd because if you go to any nearby supermarket, there is plenty of romaine on the shelves. The staff was certainly polite, but the bang for your buck just did not make it worth it. Only been here in Az a few months and never knew about this place until they built one down the street. My son who has lived here a long time suggested Salad and Go telling me it was awesome. Well he's never wrong and oh my lawd it's good! I got a buffalo chicken salad wrap (hope that's right) and it blew my tastes doors off! He got the Cobb and I was drooling between tasty bites of my wrap. So today my wife are there and called me hysterical telling me why I never told her about it! Lololol (I actually did). This was my first time at this location, and I specifically ask for 3 salads with all romaine lettuce because the mixed greens do not taste good, and when we got to the window we repeated the order all 3 should have had all romaine. Came to Salad and Go as I was feeling guilty for having not so great eating habits and thought I would clean up my routine. In America it's more expensive to eat healthier sadly, that my POV. So I order my salad, which was online. Process was easy enough, so props for that. Pickup was good, got home and dug in. It was a very good salad, fresh ingredients, decently portioned, tasted great. Husband said his salad was too " liquidy" when I asked what that meant he explained that the lettuce was really wet from having been washed. He didn't enjoy his salad, I loved mine.
