Mad Greens is one of my very favorite places to eat... the food is healthy and consistent (most of the time!) The staff is always friendly, and the portions are appropriate for the price. This location needs some fine tuning, but I've still received a good product overall. At the beginning when you order, we ordered (3) bowls. All substituting kale instead of spinach. It seems this information is recorded, but for all (3) bowls the employee started with spinach/ mixed greens. I caught it fairly early thankfully, but we asked 2-3 times for kale. They fixed it for 2/3. An additional time, I was not offered the option to mix my bowl, so when I got home, I had to dirty a bowl to mix the salad. I hadn't experienced this before at a Mad Greens, so I didn't catch it in the store. Small things, but things that alter the experience over time. Still great food and friendly people :-) read more

How did I not know about this place? Came on a Sunday around noon with 4 of my friends. The place was empty which was good during COVID times but did seem strange. I loved how everything is coded esp gluten free for me. Tons of options! I got the spicy bacon grain bowl. Spinach, cheddar cheese, rice and bacon were the main ingredients. The bacon tasted like bacon bits and it just didn't taste natural to me. The bowl was $11. If I had a choice I would definitely go to "Salad and Go" instead. Their salads and wraps are $5.94 and that includes the meat option. They don't have inside dining at "Salad to Go" so "Mad Greens" is a good option to dine inside. So, I'll start by saying we had hoped this would become a go-to place. We reviewed the menu before we got there and it having been our first time, decided to review it again. My wife decided before me and got to Summer, who had an ear pod in, first and noted that I was still deciding and apologized for my delay. When I was ready, I walked up and heard my wife being asked if she wanted a small or large. My wife responded large the action of Summer showing her the two sizes. Summer then begins to place the chosen lettuce into the large plastic to-go container and my wife asked her if she could get another one since that one was dirty. Summer looked at her and said something along the lines of this isn't yours and it's used for everyone. After 5 seconds of silence, my wife just said okay and she continued to put lettuce in this container. She then dumped that container into a stainless steer bowl and continued to make her dish. As my wife was signing up for the rewards program, Summer asked me what I wanted and I told her. After she was done filling up my stainless steel bowl with lettuce, she asked if we wanted regular or spicy avocado and my wife asked if the spicy was gluten free and summer said something along the lines of how would I know that, to which my wife responded with regular avocado. I selected regular avocado too. I believe we were asked about some other ingredient but I don't recall. I do recall being asked how much dressing I would like which I appreciated because honestly most places overdress salads. As we were waiting for the meals, my wife had finished setting up the rewards account. Summer then rings us up and I asked where to enter our phone number. She unenthusiastically canceled the pinpad transaction aggressively as would could push a button and asked for our phone number to which we provided. The computer told her that we were not in the system and that we should have added our phone number. We told her it didn't ask for it and waited hoping she would assist with getting that set up. At this point there was no response from Summer and I said let's just forget it and we'll go ahead and pay. As I was paying, my wife responded to my statement about forgetting it with not like it matters because we probably won't ever come back here again. And then summer said, with an attitude, that's fantastic. She then turned on her heels and went to assist the next customer in line, before my transaction was even complete. I don't know if we'll ever be back, because it cost us $30 for two salads and a tea with service attitude. I don't think the pricing is worth what we received food and beverage wise, let alone the bad service. It was around 3:00 pm Sunday, Mother's day, and most likely the end of the shift as two other people came before she left. It looked to us as if she couldn't care less if she had a job and truly didn't want to be bothered by customers. But to the owners, if your transactions are down on her shifts, now you know why. read more

Their menu is straight forward and you can make swaps as needed. Our go-to is either the Don Quixote salad or the shrimp rice bowl. Both are delicious and the large is enough for two lunches. Manager Tyler was very friendly, professional and helpful suggesting their new lemon pepper shrimp bowl(since I told him I like shrimp). It was super delicious and I liked the high quality greens, veges in the bowl. I'm a big hummus fan so I added their Hummus Trio and not only was it super tasty with excellent warm pita bread but in my opinion the best hummus side value in town(only $6 for a side which could equal 2 regular meals). My strawberry smoothie was also great with a nice healthy invigorating effect. There is ample comfortable seating and the other staff, Ben & Lindsay, we're knocking it out of the park(some pun intended). I was Stark Raving Mad with hunger and I wanted a cool refreshing meal for lunch so Mad Greens fit the bill perfectly. There's a good variety of salads to choose from. Most of them include chicken as protein but you can customize any salad to your liking or make your own, mixing up any ingredients you want for the tinkering Mad Scientist in all of us. The proteins they offer are chicken, tofu, shrimp and beef. All the ingredients seemed like they were fresh and good quality. No need to worry about Mad Cow Disease from here! The shop is in the Dana Park shopping center. With its easy convenient access you won't have to go Mad Max offroading trying to find it. I got here in the early afternoon so there was no Mad Rush of customers to get salad. A few more customers trickled in as I ordered and finished paying. I got the Don Quixote salad, subbing tofu for the chicken. In any salad that has avocado they will ask you if you want it dipped in Mad Spice. My answer is always YES! It's a spicy punch of heat and piquant flavors that goes well with the creamy avocado. I looked at a bottle of Mad Spice for sale at the counter. In addition to the chiles and spices they put in some chocolate extract, very interesting! At the end, they'll also ask you how much dressing you want on your salad. I opted for light dressing which was perfect for me. The actual salad itself was nice. I enjoyed the combination of flavors and textures from the sweet mango, crunchy mixed greens, corn, creamy avocado, jack cheese and creamy ginger dressing. This Don Quixote salad is fit for a Man of La Mancha but please, no tilting at windmills allowed! The total for my regular salad was around $10. Not enough to dip into anyone's Mad Money but it did seem a bit pricey for what I got. To be fair though, they offer more variety plus a sit down atmosphere compared to their competitor Salad and Go. Came here Sunday afternoon, walked in, floors were wet and chairs were up? I honestly thought they were closing up shop til I saw people sitting there eating and three people at the counter. The girl "helping me" with my bowl was a bit rude, she asked me a series of questions when preparing my bowl, but I couldn't hear her, she spoke too fast and there was just too much tude to understand. When I asked her to repeat herself, she just gave me more tude, so I just picked whatever to get it over with, then she slid my bowl over the the guy. The guy on the other hand didn't even know what type of bowl mine was, so I wonder if my bowl was even made correctly!? I mean it's a signature bowl... I thought? Second girl was nice though and brought over my hummus plate since it wasn't ready by the time we paid. Food: A three star at best, just too pricey for what it was, barely any protein but a crap ton of wild rice, but flavor was there, only ate maybe 1/4 of it and brought the rest home. This is my second trip to MAD Greens and it was SOOOO much better than the first experience! I came straight from work and I was starving, so I needed a quick, healthy, filling option. This time around, I ordered the Annie Oakley wrap (chicken bacon ranch) and added red onions. I don't love that they charge you to add some onions, but. It was worth it! The wrap was fantastic. The bacon was crunchy, the greens were fresh, and the dressing was creamy and coated everything nicely - no dry chicken here. The first time I visited this location, I ordered a grain bowl and it was extremely dry and had very little flavor. I had to add a ton of sauce, and even then it was meh. Luckily, I discovered how great their wraps are! I can't wait to go back and try another! OH, and their salted caramel cookie is to DIE FOR! read more

Stopped in here one weeknight last week around 7:30pm. We're fans of Salad 'N Go and figured MAD Greens would be even better. Horrible first impression! I ordered a Buddha bowl and the first young lady said they were out of rice but they could sub quinoa. Then she told me they were out of tofu. I'm ready to leave at this point but the boss wanted to try this salad and a happy wife = a happy life. I asked for chicken on the side and she puts it in a plastic container in front of the next young man in the line. A moment later when he is done assisting the person in front of me, he tells me they are out of tofu and would I like chicken? I tell him yes and he goes to put chicken in the bowl when I point to the chicken in the container right in front of him. Zero peripheral vision and zero communication with his co-worker. Next he asks me what ingredients would I like in the bowl and I tell him it's my first time eating there and I'm not sure what comes in a Buddha bowl. He didn't know either and looked at a cheat sheet. Next he tells me they are out of red onions. I opt for pickled red onions instead. Now I'm finally at the last young lady at the cash register and she asks me what did I get. (It wasn't that busy in there) Not a big deal, but again, zero communication. All three employees seemed new, seemed lost and seemed as though they were making rock-bottom minimum wage and had very little training. (Salad 'N Go and In 'N Out Burger both pay several dollars and hour more than minimum wage and you can tell) They were also out of the plastic container it was supposed to come in, so I get this large container with a tiny salad inside. And of course no discount or anything to offset all their shortcomings. What a POORLY managed business! To run out out of three ingredients and the container and charge almost $11.00??? How does Salad 'N Go never run out of ingredients and charge half as much? First and only time I plan on going to this overpriced place.
