Just ordered a salad for dinner from this establishment. The lettuce was brown and soggy and the roll was as hard as a rock. When I called to explain the unhealthy state of my salad, it topped out at nearly $30, the rude shift worker (as he called himself) explained to me that I was wrong and it was impossible for the meal to have been as bad as I stated. He additionally explained to me that he was not allowed to refund my money and I would have to speak to the manager tomorrow. Too bad I work during the day and am not available .most of the day. I was not really looking for a refund anyway, but just a fresh salad as a replacement for the inedible salad that was originally delivered. Customer service is always extremely important when working in the food industry and this place certainly lacks it. I am a loyal customer who frequently orders from this place but now I think I will take my business elsewhere. read more

Look, you can always traipse back to the burger boys to get your death star fix of bacon slabs marinated in chili and nachos wrapped in an entire pizza but for today there's the humble salad. I keep it simple... lettuce, tomato and chicken with balsamic or Italian. The place is clean, the ingredients are fresh and the portions are reasonable. Sure, you can probably build a better salad at home for twenty cents on the dollar... but you're not at home and that's why they call it eating out. Saladworks is perfect for those days when you just don't feel like ordering an entire suckling pig wrapped in Foie Gras curry fries and a maximus calzone at the local drive thru. So not only did I have a complaint about the SW store, now my complaint includes customer service obviously not caring. They have gone way downhill. read more

When you think you're doing something healthy by eating a salad... I just had the most unremarkable salad I've ever eaten. First of all, they just put the ingredients in little globs on top of the salad without actually mixing it up. Second of all, I know what ranch dressing tastes like, and that wasn't it. I found this place when I was working in the area. In a effort to eat better especially while on business trips for weeks at a time I was excited to find a healthy option that was close to my hotel. What I will say is that I like the concept, however on this particular visit the produce items werent the freshest. It seemed like the onions were once frozen and were now limp with no crunch. On this particular day I only got a vegetable salad with no meat or cheese, but the girl said that you can get any 5 toppings that you want before you are charged for extras, even proteins. I wasnt too happy with this visit but I am willing to give them a try to see if things may be different a second time around. Pricey but large salad with fresh greens garnished with 5 smaller portions of finely chopped toppings with average dressings. Sorry to disagree with many of the great reviews for this location, but honestly I know a good salad when I have one. For starters they do give you a very large salad, although it's $10. The greens they use are very crisp and fresh. They load up your plate with the greens so you're off to good start! Here's where disappointment begins to set in. Next you are to choose five toppings from a giant number of toppings. And you need to do this quickly by the way. All of the toppings are cut into very small pieces and you get one scoop with a large serving spoon. That's fine for things like chopped onions, eggs, peppers. But that's not OK for your main protein like chicken! Also the one scoop of topping really isn't enough for the size of the salad. And also your protein, such as grilled chicken, counts as one of your toppings. And in my opinion one of their servings of grilled chicken topping is not enough for the size of the salad. So you already need to spend two of your five toppings just to get your protein choice. Oh sure you can add extra toppings, at approximately a dollar apiece of course depending on the topping! So here is one of my big problems, the finely diced up chicken for one thing is too small and it's hard to stab with a fork and tends to settle to the bottom of the plate because it's chopped so small. Usually grilled chicken on salads is either in nicely sliced strips, or large nuggets. Not here! Also the chicken was dry and lacking much flavor. My other problem was the salad dressing that I chose. I chose the classic balsamic vinaigrette dressing. They asked me for one or two scoops, I said two because I'm a guy! Now remember I had a double serving of it. The dressing was plain and surprisingly lacking much flavor. It was 2 out of 5 stars. I do have to admit they offer a large selection of toppings, salad dressings, and soups. Speaking of soups, I tried their classic tomato being a huge tomato soup fan. It certainly was rich and creamy and of course I liked it, but it reminded me more of a vodka tomato sauce than a creamy tomato soup. It's a pricey place, but it is a healthier lunch option and they do throw in a nice, delicious piece of bread. There are better places in Freehold to buy a salad with even tastier bread at the same price, however you do get to choose your toppings here. read more

I've been going to this location since it opened. The salads have always been "ok" enough when I don't feel like cooking. Chicken/turkey questionable quality, so I usually pay extra for a (skimpy) shrimp skewer. Just a few months ago my "custom" salad with 5 toppings, plus extra $$$ for shrimp, was around $16. Today it was over $19!!! I'm sorry, it was expensive to begin with, and no way to blame the new, higher price on inflation. Plus, I asked for "light dressing". When I got home, and opened bag, I see that it is SATURATED. I actually had to add some fresh spinach to cut it a bit. NEVER returning. read more

Tasteless tough bbq chicken. Horrid in-store music. Upbeat but all screamy vocals. Worse than CVS. They used to mix everything in a big bowl, add dressing if you want it, stir it up and present to you. Now they just pile in a plastic container without even asking if your order is to stay. Some of the lettuce already had rusty stains on it. Huge chunks of cheese were a liability. Soda fountain "not working well" so now you buy a bottled drink. Salad roll and drink now over $20. No more trays. Not sure if it's just this salad works or everyone that has gone downhill. read more

Ordered a kids quesadilla for my son with sides of cucumbers and grapes. Sides were put into the quesadilla, which was just a big burrito sized tortilla folded in half. When we called about it, no apology. Roll was hard, weird crunchy bits in our salads... won't be going back . So sad because I used to really like this place. read more

We walked in at 10 minutes to 8. There was 1 person in front of us but all the lettuce was away. The soup was away. The lights were low. We were greeted with "you're the last salads" we close in 5 minutes. The sign didn't say they closed at 7:55 AND it was 7:50. We got a side of rudeness when we asked for soup. Nothing was mixed or even asked. We had to ask about getting extra dressing which only was provided on the side not option to put on it and we were not asked about bread which was shoved in the ripped bag. I would have kindly declined the bread as I have celiac. So, needless to say I spent $30 on 2 salads to not eat one as I was nervous of the cross contamination. It's unfortunate because they're aren't that many good salad places around and Saladworks is only average at best. But this took the cake. My wife and I have eaten at multiple Salad works location and have been very pleased with the freshness, quality and portions of the salads we have purchased. Unfortunately neither of us can say the same for the salads my wife picked up for dinner this evening. The quality was up to pat however the portion size was approximately half of what we normally receive. Also they did not include napkins or butter for our rolls. That being said, for the price what we received today was not a good value. Sadly, I cannot recommend this location for that reason. However, if you love great salads, I suggest trying another of their locations. read more

I've been to this location many times and order the same salad each time (tivoli) I usually substitute the provolone cheese for goat cheese and instead of tomatoes I get egg and it's usually no problem but this time they tell me there's an upcharge. It's great having a Saladworks in Freehold. Today I am having the Bentley salad. Always fresh, always delicious. Today I had the chicken parm panini. Comes with chips and a pickle. Good sandwich - it's not just salads here. Last week I tried the watermelon basil Agua Fresca drink. Today I tried the cucumber ginger. Both are excellent drinks, very refreshing and different. Ok, I have to admit it.... I'm hooked on this place! Lol This has quickly become my go to lunch option whenever I'm too lazy to pack lunch( which is often lately.) I've tried several combinations and I've only been disappointed once. The ingredients are really fresh and the size of the salads are quite large not to mention they come with your choice of a wheat or white roll. I've also tried a few of their soups and they are good as well. My favorite is the cream of broccoli. The only real draw back to this place is it can get a little pricey depending additional add ons so be aware of that. Other than that I really enjoy this place. read more

I went with the Sophie's salad spring mix, chicken, green apples, dried cranberries, glazed pecans & blue cheese it's recommended with a raspberry dressing. I wasn't sure so I had them put it on the side. I tasted the raspberry dressing and didn't like it, so I asked for a different dressing they charged me .75 I said okay because I didn't like the other dressing. Often times that's a better value than preparing a comparatively healthy meal at home, which is especially helpful after a long day of working and commuting. It's unusual if we're here less than twice per week -- it's that good. What's more, the staff is pretty friendly, and on several occasions the manager has come over to us to ask how things came out, which is pretty unusual for such a casual eatery.
