Delicious seafood selection
Richard S.

Absolutely fantastic experience! Once a hidden gem in the port, this spot is quickly earning its place as the go-to destination for authentic paella. The staff gave our birthday group a genuinely warm welcome and made the evening feel special from start to finish. Don't miss the paella perelada, where the seafood is expertly prepared out of the shell, or the paella tintada, rich with squid ink and brimming with shell-on seafood. Both are outstanding -- easily among the best we've had anywhere.

If you are in Barcelona, get directions and head to Salamanca! When you combine great sangria with great food and top it off with a staff that is beyond entertaining, THAT is THE PERFECT DINING EXPERIENCE! Every single server has charm & personality! The paella is a MUST, the sangria is A MUST and wait until the finale! When you finish your meal, there is a surprise I won't spoil! When I return Barcelona, this spot is on my list! Thank you Salamanca, 57 years in business for a reason!

Well recommended by locals so I gave it a try and understood why. Got the half order of grilled octopus which is so much food n the grilled Salamanca assorted seafood. So good. I entertained the waiters with how much I can eat. O it's delicious!!

This was an amazing restaurant. The servers were welcoming and provided excellent service. The place's decor was very eclectic and fun. The food was a little pricey but very much worth it. I really enjoyed the Paella which was very flavorful and the pulpo was tender. The shrimp was sweet and was engaged by the loads of oil and garlic. Sangria was on point. Highly recommended

The restaurant was recommended to us by locals. The paella was delicious and it came as a big potion. Be aware that if you order Paella for two you will pay double the price. We also had the goat cheese Salad. It was fresh and tasty. We were too stuffed at the end for dessert but we got some complimentary Almond cake. So leave some room for dessert! The waiter was friendly and interactive.

Good atmosphere, a bit touristy, but overall good quality for the price. Recommended for those looking for good seafood in Barcelona.

Seafood soup! Bland, no flavor and barely any seafood! Used to be red! Now it's orange!

This place used to be my go to spot whenever in Barcelona but it has unfortunately become a tourist trap! Dirty menus, flavorless food, Spanish waiters all got replaced by Indian rude waiters that rush you and demand tip at the end! The waiter actually said pay me for my service! Now in Europe tipping isn't part of the culture! I always tip even in EU but for it to be demanded!! Never going back! I would have been fine if the food was great but they probably replaced their kitchen staff as well! Worst part was while cleaning the table next to mine they moved all the dirty plates and put them on my table while I'm still eating ugh!

Pallela
Jin P.

3.5 stars because the price is ridiculously expensive 36 euros per person for a pallela, minimum two person. However the pallela itself was tasty. They flavored it very well. The location on the beachfront is great though. However, say no to bread because they charge you and it is very very bad :/ Pulpo (octopus) was very soft but bland. Liked the olive oil they used but again, very price around 30 euros. Overall, if you can find somewhere cheaper, would recommend you go somewhere else. If you don't mind the extra $$$ for the beachfront view and a lot of pallela, might be worth checking out. we don't regret going there but won't be returning

This is a can't miss place along La barcelonetta! We arrived right at opening and were able to get a table for two with no wait , however if you plan on going later make sure to have a reservation. We started off with pan con tomate and the pulpo. I would skip on the pulpo as it lacks flavor. The real start was the wine and seafood paella ! It's more than enough for two! Made fresh and served hot ! Make sure to add this to your list!

Calamari, Baby Squid, fried small fish, spicy padron peppers (Pica Pica Salamanca)

Food was great. We were seated right away even though they looked packed. We got our food within minutes. The servers were quick... not talkative as they were so busy. Our friends are local and suggested we come here: they said it is a traditional restaurant for Spain. You get green olives and bread with olive oil, tomatoes sauce on it for free. Love that. This restaurant is right on the beach. (Across the sidewalk from the sand) you can feel the energy in the atmosphere because people are very loud and enjoying their company. If you're visiting the beach or just Barcelona in general, I would recommend coming here.

Homemade lemon cake

This place is WONDERFUL! The food, the service and the staff is absolutely amazing! We enjoyed lunch and dinner on the same day. Tapas for lunch and paella for dinner, delicious.

Typical tourist trap. Mediocre food, rushed service. The waiter and manager asked for 18% to 20% tip.

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

For an early dinner by Spanish time, we started with the croquettes. Crip and wonderful. Then the tenderloin which was taste as well, though we should have a sales what is on the top. It seemed like mostly a flavored fat. The tomato with toast was lovely. Soaked with natural tomato juice. The skewered prawns were the best. Get them. And we ended with coconut pudding. It was like a flan with a coconut base. All together fun and delicious!

This restaurant was literally right next to our stay in Barcelona--skipping it felt like a crime,…read moregiven the rave reviews. So, on a rainy afternoon, we gave it a shot. We arrived just after lunch opening and were the first customers. The guy at the counter was... efficient. He simply told us to pick what we wanted, tossed it in a bin, and that was that. No explanation of pricing or preparation methods. When we asked how they'd cook it, he casually offered "fried or grilled." Obviously, we chose grilled--why fry fresh seafood? We picked two giant prawns, two octopus tentacles, and two fish (since hubby can't have shellfish). He asked if we wanted salad or soup--reviews hyped the soup, so we went with that. Then he handed us a receipt, told us we were order #3, and sent us to the bar. At the bar, we ordered two sangrias and a water. The bartender asked if we wanted bread and sauce. Sure, why not? We assumed they were included. Surprise! The tiny baguettes cost €0.50 each, and the mystery "house sauce" (a questionable mix of thousand island and horseradish) was an extra €1. We only realized the charge when we saw the total: €73. Oh well, too late now. Then came the food pickup experience--chaotic, to say the least. The server practically barked at us to bring our receipt, aggressively crossed off items, and handed over soups and octopus, crammed onto a greasy tray. No effort at plating, just food haphazardly dumped onto plates. The second round--grilled fish and prawns--was more of the same. Now, the verdict: Soup (5/5) - Delicious and reasonably priced at €6. Would order again. Bread & Sauce (0/5) - Not free, not worth it. Hard pass. Octopus (€31.80 for two tentacles, 1/5) - Overpriced, greasy, and drowning in molten salt. Basically, eating a sodium bomb. Grilled Fish (€10.50 & €8.50, 3/5) - Decent, but unnecessarily oily. Grilled Prawns (€5.59, 0/5) - Mushy, not fresh, and borderline inedible. Final thoughts? Not worth it. With so many incredible food spots in Barcelona, why waste your meal quota here? If you want quality seafood, go to Cervecería Catalana--we spent €5 more, but a meal a thousand times better. Spend wisely and eat like a king.

I've had fried anchovies before but this was too heavy for us - Octopus: This was a bit oily but but not as much as the anchovies. Potatoes were nice and soft and absorbed all the sauces. - Small Clams: My favorite dish out of all we've ordered. Although the clams were small, the sauce it was cooked in was delicious! [Service] - Line up, order what you want, some seafood have various cook styles so they will ask you which you'd prefer, pay, find a table, and pick up at the pick up window once your buzzer goes off. [Ambiance] - Mainly indoor seating with 2 tables outdoors [Overall] - Would come back again as I love this kind of seafood eateries! Will definitely try other dishes next time as well

Two of us picked 5 types of seafood, a salad and a fish soup. We tried the sangria as our drinks. Everything is beyond fantastic! We would highly recommend this seafood gem to all our friends. Here are a few tips for the first timers: 1) The workers at the order area don't understand English well. We pointed at the seafood for ordering. 2) Recommended to have the fish soup over mixed salad as an appetizer. The fish soup is made with lots of fish and ginger; and it carries so much flavor. 3) The mussels are a must-have and are so cheap (Under 10 Euros for huge portions). It's recommended to prepare in two ways: white wine and tomato sauce 4) The La Paradeta sauce (I e. A green basil sauce) goes very well with shrimps and razor clams. 5) The fried calamari was so delicious and perfectly paired with drizzles of lemon juice. Yet, it's so expensive (24 Euros for a very small portion). It doesn't feel as worth it as compared to something like lobsters (29 Euros/single lobster). 6) I noticed many people ordered a bottle of wine instead of Sangria. Will need to try next time!
