First let me say... I love Salata, just not this location. The food is always fresh and taste the same as the other Salata I frequent in Westchester off Preston and Northwest highway. I have visited this location 3 times and all 3 times the workers have horrible attitudes and seem annoyed when your specific about your toppings. They always were stingy with my toppings and the last time I went before I even finished getting my toppings. I left and went 15 minutes out my way to the Salata in Westchester. Those workers are friendly and very courteous. This location sucks big time because the workers make it so frustrating. If they don't want to work, then let someone else work that wants a job. And whomever the manager is at this location must advises the employees to cheat the customers on their toppings. I will never go back to this location, 3 times and that's enough headache for me! read more

I was in the area for work and I saw this small salad place down the street that caught my attention especially since I've been wanting to shred a couple of pounds so it seemed to go perfect with my diet. I walked in not thinking it was going to be packed! But I'm a good way. You enter and it's set up like a chipotle, everything is labeled perfectly in front of each item so you know what it's called. I payed 14 dollars for my meal which is a little much but I did get a bottled infused water that probably added 4 extra bucks. The salads and wraps are around 7 dollars and if you wanna add on meat it's 3 extra dollars. They also have seafood options! Which is every convenient! I loved the atmosphere and the people working all spoke Spanish. Also they had edamame! Which is my personal favorite. Not a lot of American based places carry it. I wish there was one by my house so I can eat there more often when I don't know what to eat and I want to eat healthy. Great place! I hope I'm in the area again soon read more

Definitely easy, healthy, filling... My only complaint was their stinginess of the toppings. They say u can have whatever you like, but then won't give two scoops of the same thing, very strange to me, especially since I only wanted 3 items + the protein. I feel I deserved more than a tablespoon of cucumber. :/ The herb vinaigrette was really good. Service is unprofessional. I asked for shrimp and she muttered extra and shook her head. Then when I asked for dressing on the side she let out an exaggerated sigh. Finally, when my friend and I asked for the bread rolls (included with the salad) she said out loud "extra extra extra". I was lost for words. Everything we asked for was included in a regular salad. I eat at Salata 3-4 time a week and I've never been disappointed. The food is fresh, they have a ton of option, and everything is organized. You won't find the grapes in the strawberry bowl or carrots in the peppers bowl. The potion sizes are perfect for either lunch or dinner. When I first discovered this place I was in love! My husband and I wanted to come every chance we get. More recently they have gotten extremely stingy and today I asked for more spinach and the lady grabbed FIVE leaves and I was dumbfounded. After this, she gave me barely any dressing or fruit toppings and I left very frustrated. It's unfortunate cause this is the closest salata to me but I don't want to continue coming here when I leave disappointed every time. Hopefully they can get it right in the future. read more

The management is awful! Don't go there! The manager will tell her employees, not to serve you a lot of toppings and if you do happen to ask for multiple toppings, they tell their staff only sprinkle a few toppings. This place is ok. The food and price isn't too bad, but, this place might as well be vegetarian because they put very little meat (like the herb-grilled chicken) in your wrap or salad bowl. I can get more meat in 1 serving sample from a taste station in Costco. Sometimes there is a language barrier here, too. Staff appears to be mostly Hispanic and I'll have a really hard time understanding what one of the workers is trying to tell me or ask me. The parking here is usually pretty annoying, too. The garage can get full and parking on the street can be dangerous (based on how people drive around here). Walking through the garage might ruin your appetite as you walk by and get a few whiffs of the stink, rotten-smelling dumpsters right at the exit. This isn't being taken into consideration for my review, since it applies to any place around here, but I thought I'd note this little detail for people planning to visit. I have been going to eat salads all around the Dallas area. Salata's has to be one of the worst places to order and eat a salad from. My biggest issue with them is service and price of their salads. I just bought a $10 salad with chicken but the employee gave me the smallest amount of salad and toppings. I can go to other places and pay the same price but get twice as much. The employee could barely understand English as well. For better salads, go to Whole Foods or Eatzi's, don't buy from Salata's until ownership provides bigger servings! read more

Compared to the other locations this is by far the worst!!! The staff was as friendly as a dried prune. I asked for a large size and the salad Barely filled the box. She gave me what little was left in the salad band and I asked for more and she said that is the amount we give you. Wrong !!! Many items were almost out or at the bottom and I was not given any adequate portions. she also would not fill it up when I asked for more. She responded this is a portion. Right 5 seeds. Salata has excellent customer service, I had a pick up order and was accidentally given the wrong salad and drove all the way back to the office, BUT as i was walking in i received a call notifying me of the mix up with news that they already had someone on the way with the correct salad!! They delivered the salad to us which was so unexpected, no other restaurant has ever fixed a mix up like that for us. PLUS the salads are very tasty its so nice to easily be able to pick exactly what i want online. We WILL be return customers for sure! read more

I love Salata as a resturant but this location needs major improvements. They are so stingy with the toppings and lettuce- If im paying 12-15 dollars for a salad, I better get more than 4 cucumbers in my salad. Im not sure if this is a tactic they use at this one or they really just do not care. The last couple times ive gone there, I've gotten a regular size salad and they load it up like its a small. Especially the Older Hispanic lady, She barely sprinkles any toppings on. I always leave feeling rather ripped off. Im never full when i go there. The salata in Southlake is SOOOO much better. Management at the Blackburn Salata needs to take note that the staff isnt very great, Last time they didnt even mix my salad for me, they just threw it in the container and gave it to me half closed. I have been here *plenty* of times. You ask for garbanzo beans, they literally give you 5. You ask for carrots, they give you 3-4. I have to ask for "extra" everything, each and everything, each and every time I come here. And when I do, I get mean mugged? Really? I am paying $13 for a salad when I could go down McKinney to Del Frisco's Grille, and pay the *SAME* for a salad that will actually fill me up! I am changing my rating to one star since I am not allowed to give zero stars. Went to Salata again and ordered a small salad. Upon checking out, the cashier charged me an extra $2 for a large salad even though I pointed out to her it was small. (usually when they make your salads, they will mix the components into a small or large bowl and mine was obviously in a SMALL bowl) After making the mistake, instead of refunding my $2 the cashier simply said "sorry lady sorry lady". I am assuming she just wanted me to leave and forget about the $2 but its the principle that matters. Since I have been rudely treated in the past by these people, I wanted my $2 back. The cashier then went to the back and called out another employee, who could have possibly been the manager, who gave me my $2 back. Even after making their mistake, the cashier looked disgruntled as I left the restaurant. Seriously?!? I first saw Salata in Preston Hollow and thought I'd like to check it out. A day later I happened to be at my friends apartment in uptown and noticed the Blackburn location. I stopped in to grab a dinner salad on my way home. The place is clean and fresh feeling. This being my first trip, I asked the salad maker to walk me through the sizes and options. I wish they had some 'pre-fab' options to choose from (I was tired and I just wanted some veggies), but I did like they had calorie counts with each topping option. As far as I can tell, they would let you put some of all of the veggies on the salad for no extra charge. I also ordered a piece of multigrain bread. For a decent sized salad with a good portion of chicken and a roll, I didn't think the price was too much. Then again, the Whole foods salad bar has more options and about the same price. Good place to grab a salad to-go, but nothing special. I might be back if I happen to be in the neighborhood. read more

Salata is my new go to place for a salad, not what you get at your typical salad bar. The space is clean and fresh and the employees are warm and inviting. When ordering you choose the lettuce and all of the topping and the salad is made fresh. I like the fact that the salad is made behind the counter because there is no guessing as to whether the ingredients have been contamination by other guests. After choosing your lettuce the fun begins, they have an array of toppings to choose from and you can have as many or as few as you like. They also have an great selection of top quality meat and seafood to add to your salad (My favorite is the pesto chicken). But, the thing i like the most is that they serve the salad in the big metal bowl it was made in....I hate ordering a salad and having half of it fall onto the table because it is in a container that is too small! swing by an amazing healthy lunch next time you are at west village. read more

Tonight I went and after them being exceptionally stingy with the toppings they refused to give me a reasonable amount of toppings. I'm usually a salad at home type of guy, but upon raves from one of the Demerara store owners I decided to check this place out while in the area. Glad I did. I've never been to a salad bar before, but it probably does not get much better than this in the area. Four different lettuce options to choose from. A ton of vegetable, fruit, cheese and legume toppings. A few animal toppings as well. Nine different house made dressings to choose from. I went with the spicy chipotle. Nice kick right at the end of it. Good stuff. The salads are $8. I know, a little steep, but the portions are large. It is $2 more for chicken and $3 more for seafood. The chicken comes grilled and herb marinated, pesto style, spicy chipotle marinated, or in Asian bbq. All of it looked great sitting behind the glass. Being that I went with the spicy chipotle dressing, I figured I'd keep it simple and go with the same style chicken. Simplicity is bliss. My salad was terrific. I went with all kinds of other toppings. Everything was presented so fresh and tasted the same. I cannot remember much about the seafood options. Shrimp, salmon, and crab meat were the choices with the shrimp coming seasoned a few different ways. Will have to look into it more as well as the wraps they offer on my next visit and give an update but I am a fan. Geaux Salata! read more

everything looks fresh it is a nice clean well taken care of place. but i was a bit concerned with the fact that i asked for a Greek Wrap and the woman didn't know what i was talking about. so she continued on making my "greek salad" and read every ingredient off the menu. then she asked for help which became her and the other woman both looking at the menu trying to figure out what tortilla goes with it. i ended up just getting my food although i wasent sure if it was even made correctly. i asked for dressing on the side and was told it was already mixed and i asked for some on the side and they both looked at eachother and said it's on there. horrible service. i was concerned most of the time. read more

Well, don't bother ordering online if you're hoping for a quick run in and out. I come in 30 minutes after placing my order, at the exact pick up time. Just then do they see that my order came through. You'd think that would prompt at least one of the 5 employees to spring into action on a not very busy evening. But no, one of them proceeds to start wiping down counters, then the others start helping people in line who walked in minutes after me. I finally have to ask the cashier whether SOMEone is going to make my order, which prompts her to finally start making my order herself. Just an odd "customer service" experience. It would serve management best to be more in tune to the customer. Ever so often well get service from a employee who doesn't seem to understand a question or a manager who hesitates to go the extra mile for the customer. What IS inconsistent is the handling of the food, some handle "things" with the gloves on before handling the ingredients by hand and others are more conscientious. Management please use tongs. This is not an inexpensive place to eat, but darn the quality of the food is good. Loved the tofu to add to the salad. I had the Herb Vinagrette dressing and it was very good. I would definitely get it again. There is nutrition information on their website. The broccoli soup was the healthiest soup option and was delicious. Lots of drink options at the drink fountain bar (lemonade, teas, etc). Salads are huge and if it wasn't so good, I would have taken some home. HIGHLY recommend the salmon option. Really good. Extremely stingy with toppings. The lady put THREE slices of raddish and FOUR chick peas on my salad. Other toppings the same tiny, tiny portions. My friend ordered a small salad, I ordered a large. At the end of the line our salads were EXACTLY the same size. They said all we can do is add more greens. I said, just charge for two small salads...they said we can't do that and put sprinkled another tiny portion of greens on tip. The iced teas were all old/bitter...tasted like they were made the previous day. You can go to Eatzi's and get a much better salad with generous portions for the same price! read more

However the portion size of the toppings is tiny and acts more as a filler than actually getting to taste everything.
