    Unda Chicken Roll
    Nemrah A.

Went around 5pm on a Thursday. It was pretty empty but very fast service. The restaurant has quite a few tables and old Indian movie posters painted on the walls. The food was good and I would definitely get it as a lunch if in the area. I liked the Unda chicken roll more than the Unda Shami roll. The chicken was very tender.

These rolls were so yummy and great price! We were the only ones in there so service was quick and workers were very nice! The ambiance was cute inside, the wall was filled in cultural movies I think and very clean.

broke girls rise!! this is a great spot to get sustenance at $5-$8 a pop. rolls (almost all of which come with eggs) take less than 5 minutes to come out, fresh with a big bottle of refreshing cilantro chutney. delicious and mild to suit the average american palate. store is clean and cozy and makes for a GREAT casual late night or lunch spot. support local, support downtown!!

I ordered the chicken tikka roll and masala fries via uber eats. The roll was lukewarm but still good. If it were hot, it would be great. It was spicy and flavorful and the chicken wasn't dry at all. I also got the masala fries, and they honestly need to stop selling them. Even if they weren't delivery they would still be bad. Avoid the fries at all costs.

I first discovered The Kati Roll Company in New York eleven years ago so I was surprised -- and thrilled -- to stumble upon it while searching for a quick dinner between checking into our hotel and our 5pm cocktail reservation. My husband has a particular obsession with Indian restaurants that serve french fries so imagine his delight when we spotted Masala Fries on the menu (especially since they weren't listed on the website.) That was already a win. We ordered an Achari Paneer Roll from the friendly girl at the counter, grabbed a seat, and were thrilled when our food arrived quickly accompanied by a vibrant Green Chili Chutney. Every bite was delicious and we couldn't have been happier with the experience. In fact, my husband loved it so much that we delayed our drive home the next day just so we could stop by again when they opened. When we returned, the same girl at the counter recognized us and mentioned that she had thought we were adorable the day before but hesitated to say anything at the time. We ended up chatting about living in Dallas and even optimistically speculated about the possibility of a Kati Roll location in Austin. To top it all off, my husband was so happy with their Spicy Potato Chips that we went back to the counter to buy four more bags to take home -- our own edible souvenir of an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, this was exceptional. If I could give more stars, I would!

Totally nostalgic moment eating at Kati roll after 20 plus years. I used to eat at their OG location back in late 90's early 2000's in nyc on McDougal st. I was in Dallas this past weekend and I know I had to go visit this place. Place was empty simply due to being downtown location and offices are closed on weekends. 2 female employees working behind the counter who helped get our food ready. I ordered 2 rolls including a chicken unda roll and a shami kabab unda roll. Our food came out quick. Food was fine and service was ok. Location was clean with old Indian movie themes on the wall just like their original location in NYC. I would be coming back when I visit Dallas again

I was eagerly waiting for this spot to open up as I had heard good things about it. I tried their Unda Chicken Roll and Unda Aloo Roll Unda chicken roll was good and the chicken was tender but next time I would ask for more green chutney and onions. Unda aloo roll was a little bland for me so next time I would ask them to add more salt/chaat masala and onions. Prices are really reasonable and the interior is nicely done. Only issue I can see is parking when you're trying to pickup your order. Also ask for green chutney on the side if you're picking up so your roll doesn't get soggy. Will definitely be going back again.

The food was fresh and very delicious. The team that work there hustle to get fresh food to you as quickly as possible without sacrificing the quality if your order. That kitchen is right in front of you so you get to see how clean, organized and efficient they are. AMAZING food and service! The rolls were delicious and flavorful. Definitely recommend!

I have been waiting to try this place since I heard raving reviews of locations in other states. Went for lunch with a couple of friends and we all ordered different things. I ordered a achaari paneer roll and a chicken tikka roll. I was disappointed that although the ingredients were authentic but the flavor of the said items was just not there. The actual flavor of ghee food is very diluted. My friends both ordered rice bowls and that was further below the expectations. Not authentic. Will not try again.

The vegetarian buffet is relatively small, but nutritionally diverse and dense. Dishes today ranged from simple steamed broccoli and carrots to curried cauliflower and multiple legume dishes, to a salad bowl with a wide range of fresh colorful veggies. You will leave full and happy, I fully expect, if you try it too. The little restaurant is housed in a beautiful ornate temple, and has a lovely outdoor courtyard to dine in on pleasant days (I eat inside when it's hot or cold out.) Service is minimal, but attentive by buffet joint standards. Parking is a secure private lot and spaces are plentiful. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy, but you are fully separated from it if you park in the secure lot. For $15 at lunch, you will likely have your most nutritious meal of your (pick a time period), and get a free drink and desserts. Some items are available for upcharge, but I find them to be unnecessary. The vibe is temple casual and reminds me of hippy establishments I used to frequent in the 70s and 80s. I highly recommend you try it, if you love fresh vegan fare at a bargain price and want to check out the lovely temple and grounds while you're there.

Getting here was only slightly tricky, as it's not located in a strip mall or anything, but down a somewhat crummy street, in its own gated area, with a parking lot. The buffet was modest but diverse, with a fully vegetarian buffet where 90% of the options are also gluten-free. I really enjoyed the Sambhar soup, Kofta balls in tomato gravy, the spicy-pickled peppers, and the Chickpea curry. The outdoor dining area is just lovely, especially with good weather, and the temple grounds are very peaceful and enjoyable. Very reasonable price for such a relaxing and unique meal, and the staff were very friendly. My only complaint is that since we got there about an hour after lunch, some of the food had gotten a bit dry.

Ordered through Uber Eats for lunch. Was only me so I wasn't able to try a lot of items. I ordered tikka masala (chicken) ($21) and vegetable samosa ($10). The tikka masala is the best I have had in a very long time. Absolutely delicious! I got medium and it had a nice spice to it. Not too much at all. The rice that comes with it is a yellow rice with a bit of flavor and not plain white. Enjoyed that. The vegetable samosa are huge. They taste good, but I will say i prefer when are made with cubed or crumbled potatoes. These are made with mashed and very sparse on the peas. The naan had a different consistency than I'm used to. Was very flat and almost crispy. And they charge extra for it. ($3.50) I feel it was a bit expensive. $50 for 1 entree and samosa and naan. That did include driver tip, but still $50 for 1 for lunch is a bit high. Delivery is often higher than if one visits the restaurant and I have not been in person. The tikka masala portion size was a good size but $21, I'm not sure. Sure was delicious! Really good! I do look forward to trying to other dishes and hope to visit the restaurant. This is the kind of food that'll make you crave it randomly!

The service is amazing and personalized, the drinks are on point, and the food is outstanding. Having lived in Houston and Chicago, great Indian food has always been a staple for me, and it was something I really missed after moving to Dallas two years ago. Despite the large Indian population and many restaurants here, the quality and authenticity usually fall short of cities like Houston, New York, or Chicago--until I found Delhi 6. I've already been back four times. The dhaba-style butter chicken is one of the absolute best I've ever had, and the Rogan Josh is another personal favorite.

My "quick search" for local Indian food spat out Delhi6 Indian Kitchen & Bar as the top choice. Thirty minutes and 14 miles of Highland Village pavement later, I checked Google Maps only to find there was an Indian spot one mile from my location. At that point, I wasn't just hungry; I was "Yelp-betrayed" hungry. Walking into Delhi6 is a bit of a trip. I expected a standard restaurant; I got a lounge that felt like I should have traded my sneakers for a velvet blazer. It was dim, moody, and featured tabletop lamps that made me feel like I was about to negotiate a high-stakes merger--or at least a very serious order of Garlic Naan. I was greeted by Rohi, a man so well-dressed he made the rest of the room look under-rendered. He introduced himself as the acting manager and dropped a line so bold I almost choked on my own anticipation: "This is the best Indian restaurant in all of Texas." Sir, those are "fightin' words" in a state that takes its spices as seriously as its brisket. My expectations didn't just rise; they hit the ceiling. To see if Rohi was a prophet or just a very stylish salesman, I applied my standard Indian Food Litmus Test. No fancy bells and whistles--just the classics. Their menu, by the way, is a literal tome. It's as thick as the Cheesecake Factory menu, but thankfully with fewer pictures of Glazed Salmon and more promises of cumin-induced euphoria. The Tandoori Chicken was smokey, tender, redder than a fire engine. It had that perfect "kissed by the flames" char and a deep, smoky soul. The Chicken Tikka Masala balanced creaminess and spice. It was sweet, savory, and vibrating with bright spices. The chicken was so tender it practically dissolved on impact. The Paratha was dry and a bit tough--the one "C" on an otherwise straight-A report card. Despite the paratha being more "cardboard" than "cloud-like," the rest of the meal was a revelation. I found myself nodding along to Rohi's bold claims with every bite of that Tikka Masala. The flavors weren't just good; they were "I'm glad I drove 14 miles for this" good. It's right up there with the heavy hitters like Taj Mahal and Café Maharani. If I ever find myself in Highland Village again--or if Yelp decides to trick me into a cross-state road trip--I'm stopping back at Delhi6. Thank you, Yelp, for being terrible at math but excellent at finding me a five-star "mistake."

I made a 9:00 PM reservation because the restaurant's posted hours showed that they were open until midnight. We arrived shortly after 9:00 and were seated, but the experience felt off from the beginning. There was bottled Acqua Panna water on the table, and when we were asked whether we wanted regular water or the bottled water, I chose the bottled water. The immediate response was, "It's $5." I had absolutely no issue with paying $5 for water, but the way it was communicated felt unnecessarily presumptive and rubbed me the wrong way. A simple explanation that the bottled water was available for an additional charge would have felt much more welcoming. Then, around 9:20, we were informed that last call for food was at 9:30. When I asked what time the restaurant closed, I was told 9:30. That was extremely confusing considering the posted closing time was midnight and, more importantly, the reservation system allowed me to make a 9:00 PM reservation. At that point, we decided to leave. I personally don't like ordering food right before a restaurant closes, and had the correct hours or last-order time been communicated when I made the reservation, I simply would have chosen somewhere else from the beginning. Instead, our dinner plans were disrupted and we had to find another restaurant after 9 PM. I will say that the restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and has a really cute, inviting atmosphere. That's honestly what makes the experience even more disappointing. I had been looking forward to enjoying the food, drinks, and overall atmosphere, and it's unfortunate that we really didn't get the opportunity to experience any of it. I can't speak to the food or drinks since we never got the chance to try them, but the reservation availability, posted hours, communication, and overall experience upon arrival definitely need improvement.
