When I got home, I pulled the previous 2 exams and the prescription looked wildly off so I scanned the three prescriptions and emailed them, asking to have the doctor review them since I did not want to order lenses that may not be correct. A week went by and no reply.... The previous prescription the doctor wrote but the staff couldn't give it to me when I was leaving because the doctor had left for the day - the prescription has an electronic signature so I don't get that at all! I just don't get the incompetence of this office and their staff. This is the second bad experience but there won't be a third.

Once I arrived on the wrong day for the checkup...they worked me in anyway. Very careful to tell me what I will owe and what is covered. Dr. Johnson is a very caring, kind, high quality doctor, in my opinion. He also identified a very serious issue with my wife's eyes that she was also concerned about and probably saved her vision. His relationships with local professionals allowed her to get surgery right away. Staff is wonderful, friendly and caring. After the appointment, they said I was only partially covered and I owe money for the exam and I have to pay for my glasses. Medicare covers my eye exam and glasses 100%. They said afterwards that my insurance did not cover 100% with them, which they never told us. Was not very happy and will not recommend this place. I will have to report this also to medicare and my insurance company.

I have now had the first eye done and I must say that Dr. Neahring and all of his staff at the Curry County Hospital were extremely professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. I must say that all who attended to me as well as Dr Neahring were nothing less than awesome. My surgery went well and Dr Nearing what's exceptional at explaining everything to me as he progress through the procedure. Now, I am absolutely amazed at the sight I have in this eye!! The clear crisp vision is awesome! The colors that I see are so beautiful and vibrant, especially compared with what I experienced while I had the cataract. I am excited to wake in the mornings to experience this beautiful vision that now allows me to experience all the beauty that coastal Oregon has to offer!! I get my second eye done in four weeks!! Said he didn't know what he was looking at and referred us to retina consultants. 11 days later (Dr. Neahring's office sceduled the app.) we saw Dr. McClintic who diagnosed a detached retina. He was in surgery asap and will recover just fine. What opthalmologist isn't able to diagnose a detached retina? My husband is lucky the damage was not more severe due to the time that elapsed between appts.

They've had to send my glasses back twice because the glass was cut improperly. Covid has definitely made things more difficult, but it seems to me that this is a great opportunity for this really solid clinic (great doctors, friendly and patient staff) to reevaluate their relationship with their lab. I sincerely hope I'm the only one they've had this trouble with, because it was DEFINITELY less than stellar service as a result. I have been waiting for my new glasses for over two months.
