They charged me a lot more to resize a ring. I was not notified that it was going to cost more, or I would have taken my ring somewhere else to get resized. They had my phone number, a call would have been appreciated before doing the work, or maybe the sales lady should have told me when I dropped off my ring that there might be an additional charge. You jewelry lovers ever shop Marble Falls? The family did shopping proud today hitting up Salem's. Located on the main MF drag which is 281, we managed to find a few bargains on one of the coldest days ever in our parts. The wife got a pair of diamond earrings for Christmas only to have a slight malfunction when one of the backs broke right off. I called ahead to let them know thanks to the distance we would be in at some point with the original receipt. They offered to fix the broken post and mail them back at their expense so that was a glimpse of the customer service level to come. We had the boy so the wife and I took turns keeping him off of near every display in the building. With some borrowed keys to every display case in the building little Rooster ventured around trying to unlock the world. Jenny ended up pulling the trigger on some striking star shaped diamond earrings. I fared well with 75% off a Technomarine watch. We saved a combined $750 on the two items. Did I mention their pipes were frozen? That with mandatory rolling blackouts probably was a good sales day. We left with some new bobbles and then headed over to Ginger and Spice for some Thai food that also got interrupted by no power. Great experience with the folks at Salem's. Watches for all, classic LLadro figurines, fashions, jewelry, and a service level that is second to none in Marble Falls. Well done, highly recommended. Visited with a friend who was picking up some jewelry from repairs. It's the only place she trusts with her treasures. Although I didn't purchase any items, I did get to meet Wayne Salem and the staff. They were all very small town friendly and not pushy. Which is to say they were nothing like your typical big city chain jeweler. Wayne showed us an exquisite cushion cut diamond ring, one of the many unique pieces they had in their large selection. He seemed ready to make a deal. Too bad I had no one in mind for that piece. If you're looking for that special piece to say "I do" or even just "I love you", give Salem's a chance to earn your business. First ever time going into the Marble Falls store today to ask about some earrings that I was gifted 20years ago. I knew the earrings had been made at Salem's and was interested in possibly selling them but also just wanted to see if any information on them. I needed to have a bracelet repaired, have two charms reattached and a new clasp on it. First person I talked to gave me a huge price of $120 and after thinks NGIC about it overnight, o decided to call them and cancel it he repair. Luckily a lady named Suzie answered my call and said let me look into it. She called me back and said she could do it for $12 and I could pick it up that day! I have a special watch that I cracked the bezel on and isn't made any more. I took it to Salem's thinking they are a great Jewelry store and had done well with a different watch before. I was told no prob and it would be about $40-$50 to fix it. So I left the watch and was called four days after to be told the repair in watch was good but it would cost $160! Despite the considerable amount over what was quoted, I had good hopes and feelings using them! Today was called and told the watch was ready. when I got there they handed me my watch with the bezel now missing the little chip and said Oh I'm sorry we couldn't help you on this! Now I have a totally broken bezel watch that isn't useable and no where to turn to get it fixed! I even asked if it was going to be an issue to please let me know before taking it all apart! They might have some nice jewelry but they are no experts on repairing a watch!!! totally bummed out cause the watch is very important to me.... read more

just now Took a one carat diamond and to be reset that I've had for 30 years, it was high-quality and it was given to me by Mrs Sales. When I got the diamond back it was not the same Diamond it was a very low quality diamond and I had no proof of it. Even with my appraisal they denied it. The next experience was my son who took my fathers wedding ring of 60 years and to be melted down into another ring. Salams just bought another ring put diamonds in it and then charged my son $2800 for doing that. We provided the silver diamonds and they charged him $2800 for a men's wedding band with five diamonds on the inside of the band. The next incident was my son at the same time he took his ring and took my gold my wedding band setting with 18 diamonds in it baguettes is having a meltdown to build a ring for his fiancé... salems charged them an ungodly amount to build that ring . Have known Salem's since 1997 since the original owner has Ben becoming less involved and his "son" has been more apart of the business my family has had very important pieces traded out and been charged insane prices for casting AFTER providing the gold or sliver and diamonds. I even took a old wedding band in with 5 diamonds wanted one made from them for my daughters wedding day out of MY diamonds - Salem's just ordered something similar and thought I would not notice. I did however it was 2!days before I got the piece back and I could not prove they were not my diamonds - other than they were not the same size. I trusted them with precious's meaning full pieces and they abused their position and basically screwed the family money wise and Sentimental. My diamond that was traded out was a 12,000 dollar diamond and according to a new appraisal it's barley worth 4 thousand dollars -- disgust me ---- Recommend trust them with NOTHING DO NOT LEAVE STONES OR ASK TO HAVE PIECES MELTED DOWN AND CREATED INTO NEW PIECES. THEY DONT DO IT -- They will show you cast and explain to you how to be done etc. and then all I do is go order a piece from the manufacture sell your peas and give you some and meaningful gold or silver and they will swap out your expensive Jules for substantial replacements. I would not trust them with another piece of jewelry if they were the last store on earth. And it's sad to say because I've known them for so long and never thought they were that dishonest. I took my bracelet to them to get it fixed which they told me they totally could fix it. 3 weeks go by and I call them to find out if it was ready or not to have them tell me "opps forgot to call the person we needed to so we could get a spring for the bracelet". so they assure me they are going to make that call and it will be a couple weeks and my bracelet will be fixed. Well today they called me and its been a total of 6 weeks now to tell me "sorry it doesnt appear we can get a spring for your bracelet and get it fixed" So thanks for lying to me and failing to do your jobs repeatedly. 6 weeks of my time wasted. I recently had some jewelry appraised at Salem's, and I had a missing diamond in my wedding band replaced, and had the ring retipped so that I wouldn't lose another. Less than 3 months after having that done, I lost another diamond. I was at HEB when I noticed, and I drove straight to Salem's to let them know. They were very apologetic and said the diamond would be replaced.. and that I had year's warranty if this ever happened again.
