We have been going to the Mandarin location since we moved to Florida in 2017. Love the food, the staff and the new location so close to our home. My favorite appetizer is the plantain with cheese. My favorite entree is the shrimp with yellow herbed rice. My husband orders several entrees with lots of meat including pork chops and assorted cuts. The fruit juices are unusual and delicious. Could not wait any longer for this place to open! The menu is a little overwhelming but the waiter helped us pick out what to order. We ordered the empanadas and tostones with guacamole for appetizers & both were delicious. They offer several combination plates too but I didn't get a picture. My daughter and I were able to share the combination for 1 which included chicken, asada, chorizo and ribs. She loved the chicken. Most meals come with 3 sides. They do offer a kids menu. Ample parking. Staff is always nice and friendly. They remember you if you are a frequent customer, which we are. Noise level is moderate during peak dinner hours and low during lunch time. Fruit Agua fresca (non alcoholic drink) is definitely a must have. My favorite appetizer is always the pork rind or chicharones. Any of their entree is always delicious and will not disappoint you. Their Saturday soup special, always something to try. It's a big serving so it is meal in itself. My husband loves the trout. Try a different entree every time you visit the place. So glad to have this 2nd location so close to home and it's even better....with a full bar! We enjoyed beef empanadas to start, shared the salento for 2 with beans, salad and potatoes. The mixed drinks are a little on the pricey side ($19 Tito's dirty martini and $15 Bombay gin and tonic) so next time we will probably order wine instead. The menu doesn't really have the pricing listed, so be prepared to ask a lot of questions. We were also charged for sauces that the menu said came with the meal? Stumbled in here on a Saturday afternoon. The place wasn't packed, yet. It was nicely laid out and I was happy that I could hear my company without them shouting. The bar was nice & well stocked and bathrooms are clean. Service was a little slow, but in all fairness they did get very busy while we were there -3 to 5 pm on a Saturday. I ordered the guava juice with water, it was good and refreshing. For appetizers we ordered the sweet plantains, red beans. Vegetables kabob. For dinner we had the dinner for 2, chicharrone, chicken, chorizo, pork ribs & carne asada. Everything was excellent. The salsa and chimichurri had great flavor and complimented everything on the platter! The ribs were cooked perfectly, they were tender and well seasoned. The chicharrone was crispy and tender, your bite melts in your mouth, add the chimichurri sauce and it makes for a party in your mouth! The chorizo was juicy and great on its own or with a spoonful of red beans. Both the chicken & carne asada were the champions of the plate for me. The cuts were seasoned well, cooked perfect, not dry and not salty. I tried with both sauces and hands down the chimichurri sauce enhances their taste! This plate is for 2 and i ended up taking home 1 chicken breast, 3 cuts of carne asada, 1 knob of the chicharrone,1 rib and 1 chorizo. I'm already planning a second visit! read more

This business just opened up in Silverleaf in our amenities center and my wife and I were excited to try them out. Let's talk about the positives first; the food is awesome I must say very freshly made. I ordered the popular Colombian dish bandeja paisa. Mind you I grew up in South Florida and worked in Miami for over a decade so I know good Colombian food. I must say their bandeja paisa is one of the best I have eaten because of the quality of steak which was pretty thick and tender to my surprise usually the cut of steak from my previous stops were not very tender and usually thin. Now to some of the negatives, first they sat my wife and I at one of the smallest tables. I point this out because I'm 6'4 and the bandeja paisa couldn't even fit on the table so I had to ask the server to combine two tables. It's not like bigger tables were not available so I don't why they chose to sit us at such a small table. The food took very long to get to our table and the food was cold which really ruined my dinner and pissed me off. I have never been to Colombian restaurant and the food wasn't piping hot so this was unacceptable! I told the waitress and she told me "thanks for letting me know" no accommodations were offered for the cold food my wife and I had to eat. We couldn't even send the food back before eating because the waitress waited a good 30 minutes before returning to ask us how the food was prepared. This was also unacceptable! We do plan on going again but if the service is the same we will never eat there again. read more

I went here for my Birthday in Dec 2024. I wanted to go to the Texas Roadhouse, but my wife talked me into coming here to try it which is fine I love trying new places. The waitress was great she recommended the ribeye. So that's what I ordered I don't know what spices they put on the $70 Ribeye, but they ruined a good steak I could barely taste the steak, and the flavor was terrible. My daughter ordered a salad without avocados instead of making her a new salad they just took some avocados out of one they had made with avocados. She ended up not eating it when she found the avocados in her salad. As I said the Waitress was great the whole time, But I wouldn't recommend ever eating here. The food was really delicious and I plan on coming back because the food is that good! But the staff aren't so welcoming. I worked in the biz for a long time in college so this is my observation on dining here. The place is super cute and has great ambiance for date night or girls night. They are not open during the day like the other location. They open at 3:30pm and they do not have a website or phone number up and running for this location yet. I didn't even know they opened until I drove by. My husband and I went for a date and the place was busy but not too busy. I noticed they were short staffed because there was a small wait to have a table when there was over 15-20 tables empty. They are just starting out so I understand they might need more staff. They placed us in the middle of the restaurant at a 2 top when every other couple was comfortable at a booth. There were two booths the needed to be cleaned and yes we could have requested to be sat at them but we didn't mind. I did think it was odd they sat us there when nobody else was sitting there. The hostess was a super nice young girl, but was very quiet and shy when first entering. I'm sure she is new at possibly having a job so that's to be expected for a young girl learning. She didn't ask what we preferred to be sat at and wasn't very welcoming with her greeting. The management was the same way. I watched the woman manager help clear tables and speak to some customers and her demeanor was not very friendly. The look on her face was more annoyed she had to speak with customers. The older man manager was not happy either. Not one time did they come check on the table or any table for that matter to see how customers were doing. You want people to return so happy staff is a great way of making sure you have repeat customers. Our waitress was young and sweet, but possibly new. Our food came to the table warm, not cold but not hot at all. She didn't come ask how we were doing until we were half way through eating. By that time we were so hungry we ate it cold anyways. The nicest person in the restaurant was the girl who brought us water. She had the biggest smile on her face and sparked up a small convo with us. She was the most welcoming thing about the place. Our waitress was busy and I'm not sure how many tables she had because my back was to her, but she took quite a bit to tend to us. We waited about 10 minutes for her to ask us for our order, but she could be very new at waiting tables and the place might be short staffed. So I get it. I will be back because the food was so good, freshly prepared and tasty. I live right down the street and plan to frequent the place often. I can be their number one customer, but if the service lacks again I might not even bother going in. I don't want to be treated like an inconvenience that I came in to eat. What a find! We celebrated our wedding anniversary last night at Salentos and it was one of the best places we've ate at in the area. We got the salentos for 2 which came with an assortment of different seasoned meats (steak, chicken, ribs, chicharrones, & chorizo) it came with 3 sides which we opted for the vegetable skewers & plantains. We also decided to add the grilled pineapple which was a great touch. It comes with two complimentary sauces, a chimichurri and a hot sauce, both paired great with the meats. We also ordered the garlic shrimp which was seasoned to perfection and by far our favorite meat of all of them, it has wonderful pepper and garlic flavoring and the shrimp were so fresh and plump. We chose for our sides with that the arepa, fried yuca and fried potatoes. All in all, our dinner was amazing and it was way more than enough for the 2 of us, we had leftovers for the next day. The service was fast and friendly but what really shocked and impressed us was the amount of food for the price. I cannot say that the food is not good, it is very good, but my criticism in this post is for the new place located at Sain Agustine SR 210, the attitude of the girls who are receiving people at the door is very unpleasant, they have no ethics And they are not friendly either, at least to me they were not, I went to dinner with my family and when we first entered they did not greet us, they looked at me from head to toe and told me that we had to wait 45 minutes when it was just us in the waiting room. And excuse me, but there were seats. I asked her. She told me that they were short on staff and that's why they couldn't give me the seat (absurd excuse). I looked at her and asked her, "I don't think you're not going to give me the seat just because I'm Hispanic." ? Did it really hurt me that a Hispanic restaurant has favoritism or just because of appearance? .
