I was introduced to Salento by a friend and I have not looked back since!!! Every time I come here it's a 10/10 or a 20/20. The people who work here are always super nice and respectful. Whenever I come by for takeout Maximo is always the one that helps me..he's awesome!!! I have tried a couple things here and they have all been great. Pizza Diavola (Pepperoni) - Semi thin crust pizza..not too thick not too thin..the pizza itself is tasty and not too oily like other pepperoni pizza!!! You can never go wrong with pepperoni!!! Fettuccine Alla Boscaiola - This pasta is made of a rose sauce. It's a mixture of white and red sauce and it made my taste buds go wild!! The taste of this pasta sauce brings me back to my childhood..when I was younger there was a restaurant in my town that served a sauce similar to this one. Eating this pasta is like bringing my taste buds down memory lane. Yum yum yum!!! Fettuccine Shrimp & Broccli in Gorgonzola Cream - I had to look up what "gorgonzola" was before ordering this pasta. If you don't like bleu cheese you will not like this dish. I am not always a fan of bleu cheese but I wanted to try a different type of pasta sauce so I took a chance and ordered this dish. It was good..the bleu cheese flavor is NOT overpowering but if you don't like bleu cheese don't order it. If you enjoy bleu cheese you might want to order this pasta. It was good..will I order it again? Yes, will it be my first choice..no..but it is my second or third choice. Salento is a top 3 Italian food restaurant in Playa on my list. If you are in Playa be sure to check out Salento!!!

The food is outstanding! The service at first was bad, our two friends got their meals while we waited on ours. I think was the kitchen staffs fault! Our server was polite and he did serve us well. The Devils lobster was amazing! Pizza and Fettuccine Alfredo were spot on! Great Food at very good prices!

Excellent off the 5th restaurant! Fresh bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar served. Delicious homemade pasta. The flavors and freshness were delightful. The portions were so large we couldn't eat it all. The service was superb, wait staff were standing at attention and nearby. Prices are very reasonable. Can't wait to go back tomorrow and try their pizza!

We were a group of 7 that dined on December 18th, food was good but myself and my daughter got really sick after dinner, been up all night.

Phenomenal service from the waiter. Great wine, I had the Pinot Grigio. I've had it another place in Playa and it was too acidic. The linguine is amazing. Definitely coming back on my next trip!

This restaurant was recommended to us by another family who was staying in our same complex. It was a 2 minute walk. The food is delicious. Service is a little slow but hey we're on vacation! I ordered a fettuccine pasta dish and it was delicious and a nice sized portion. My husband got the lasagna and it too was delicious. We ordered pizza for the girls and it too was delicious. The prices are very reasonable, with a very generous tip our bill was less than $60 (dollars). Highly recommend this place!!

    Great vino as well!

OMG, this place is AMAZING!!! If you are in the area it's a definite place to go. We go multiple times while we are in Playa and have also gotten delivery. Our waiter even gives us Spanish lessons with our meal. Too bad I can't get delivery to Texas...lol

Food is delicious, portions are big, and cheap, so you can share your plate. Bread and pasta are made in home. Pasta sauce is so delicious and pizza toppings are delicious too. Love love love! My grandma loved this spot. Alejandro the waiter is amazing, best service!

Hand made pasta, delicious Sicilian appetizers with roasted eggplant peppers and olives- so good. This place makes everything from scratch and it tastes so authentic. Had the fettuccine boscaiolo so amazingly old world in flavor. Pizza in a traditional oven. Yum. All very reasonable. Dinner for two with beers was less than $20 US with tip. Would definitely recommend.

Tried this place out for a quick pizza to go. The pizza was good, the restaurant is nice with cute Italian decor seating inside and out.

There's usually a wait to get in, which says a lot considering most of the other restaurants didn't have much of one. We waited about 30 minutes the first night and 15 the second, and after eating here, I can see why it's one of the more popular spots on the property. We started with several appetizers. The samosas were small but really good. The gyoza was fine, just your standard gyoza. The chicken satay was another highlight, with a really flavorful peanut sauce. The dumpling soup was okay and a little different than expected since it included noodles. For entrees, the mixed fried rice was excellent. It had some kind of unique seasoning that I couldn't quite identify, but it worked. The rice had great texture, and they definitely didn't skimp on the shrimp and chicken. The pad thai was pretty good too, although it leaned much sweeter than I expected. It almost reminded me of a really good upscale microwavable pad thai, with more sweet sauce than spice. The THAO was another standout. It's kind of their version of orange chicken, and it was really good. My only complaint is that the portion size felt a little small, so I'd recommend ordering something alongside it. The desserts were surprisingly great across the board. We tried almost all of them except the mango and turmeric dessert. My favorites were the carrot cake and the leche coconut dessert. Both were excellent. They also have a nice selection of signature cocktails. The Sakarita, a sake margarita, was okay. The Geisha was good if you enjoy the smoky flavor of mezcal. My girlfriend really liked the Leche Martini, and my favorite was the Buddha, which felt like their take on an Old Fashioned. Service was consistently good. What really stood out was that when we returned two nights later, our server immediately recognized us, welcomed us back, and genuinely asked how we had enjoyed our first visit. It felt sincere and not scripted, which was a nice touch. The only downside is that the restaurant is entirely outdoors. They do have fans, but on really humid nights it can be rough. The second time we visited, the humidity was intense, and even sitting directly in front of a fan I felt like I was melting. That's more of a weather issue than a restaurant issue, though. Overall, this was one of the best meals we had at the resort. Great food, good drinks, friendly service, and a menu that had several items worth ordering again. If you're only trying a few restaurants at Live Aqua, this should absolutely be one of them.

We were in Cancun, MX and stayed at an all inclusive resort called Live Aqua, great resort,…read morerecommended. Came to Hidden Garden for one of our dinner for a special birthday celebration of my friend. The food was great and the ambiance was great. The service from our server was great. It was such a nice special touch for the chef to come out and ask how everything was, and the server brought out a birthday dessert for my friend. 5 stars on all of that. So why 2-stars then? The hostess of this place that evening was rude and out of place. We were all dressed VERY NICE in all black, however, one of the guy in our group's outfit was sleeveless. He was wearing a very nice leather sleeveless vest. Mind you, it wasn't a tank top, it wasn't swim wear, it wasn't athletic wear. It was an expensive leather vest, very fashionable. Nicer than all of the old men wearing shorts and Hawaiian shirts or basic polo shirts. The hostess didn't allow him in until he changed to something that had sleeves. Friend changed and was allowed in. Once inside, he put the vest back on for photos since everyone in our group coordinated to be wearing black fashionably. On our way out of the restaurant, the hostess had the nerve to stop us and say something about it. Lesson here is, do better. We understand that there's dresscode, but know what should be acceptable or not. If it was a tank top, swim wear, or athletic wear, we'd definitely understand. But it was not, it was upscale and fashionable, just without the sleeve. Plus, women are allowed to be sleeveless but not men? What year do you live in? Train your hostess better.
