Before the Sayville office opened I would go to the Wading River Office, where I have gone for years. The level of care is EXCELLENT!!! I have two children, one that is on the spectrum and the other that is 4 years old. Both of them were terrified to go to the dentist until they went to Suffolk Pediatric Dentistry. What I love most about going here is how in-tune Dr. C with his patients. He listens and answers all of their questions no matter if they are only 4 years old or 12 years old. The level of care, patience and time they have spent to make sure my children are comfortable is incredible. My daughter who is on the spectrum had so much anxiety and was so nervous, however Dr. C was able to make a connection with her and build her trust. Unlike other Dentistry's that wanted to sedate her because too much time was needed. Dr. C did the opposite and made sure she was comfortable before the procedure. He spoke to my daughter the entire time, comforting her and making her less anxious. The procedure went by so fast my daughter didn't realize it was over. I highly recommend this office and wish they saw adults. Thank you Dr. C for taking such great care of my girls and making our trips to the dentist not so scary.

From the moment we stepped through the doors, the environment felt warm, friendly, and perfectly designed for children. The waiting area was colorful and fun, with iPads, coloring pages, books, and even cartoons playing--everything to make little ones feel relaxed, entertained, and happy before their appointment. The entire staff greeted us with big smiles and kind voices, making both me and my child feel completely comfortable from the start. They were incredibly patient, taking the time to explain every step in kid-friendly language and always making sure my child felt safe, heard, and confident. The dentist was absolutely wonderful gentle, knowledgeable, and full of positive energy. You can really tell they love working with children and care deeply about helping them build good dental habits in a fun and encouraging way. My child actually left smiling and talking about how they want to come back again (which is something I never thought I'd hear after a dentist appointment)! The whole visit was filled with kindness, care, and professionalism from start to finish. It means so much to find a place where dental visits are no longer something to be nervous about but something to actually look forward to. Thank you to the entire team for making it such a positive and joyful experience--we're so happy to have found this dental home!

They charged me for fluoride treatment which I refuse every time and still insisted that it was given to my daughter. $45 for fluoride that he never received and every time I should up for the appointment I appeal it and they don't believe me. I dont have a problem paying $$ but when your wrong your wrong. Why should I give free money for something that was never given and hygienist didn't update the chart. The manager insisted it was given. You have to be stupid to pay $45 for fluoride when its in vitamins and toothpaste that is taken every day!

I have been going to this location for a few years, and unfortunately, my Dentist left the group…read more My Hygienist, Natalie, is always exceptional! I visited the group on Wednesday, October 16, for my six-month cleaning, and Dr. Michael Wakily was assigned to do my checkup. When he entered the exam room, he did not introduce himself; however, trying to bypass that oversight on his part, I joked that he came highly recommended as my regular Dentist left the group. Dr. Wakily examined my mouth and found three cavities. I asked if it was possible to have the three cavities repaired the same day, which he affirmed could be done as it would only take 30 to 40 minutes. He also indicated he would forward the information to the front desk, after which he left the exam room. While in the exam chair, a lady approached me and presented paperwork indicating the amount covered by my insurance and my out-of-pocket cost to repair the three cavities. I explained to the individual that I had overpaid on at least two prior occasions when immediately paying out-of-pocket costs calculated by Smilist East Islip, as confirmed by the Explanation of Benefit (EOB) that I receive a few weeks after every procedure. I further explained that in none of these instances, I was reimbursed by Smilist. On that end, I asked the individual if they could bill me when they ascertained the amount I would owe, as I had no problem paying it. The individual explained she would check with the doctor (Dr. Wakily) and get back to me. No more than two minutes later, the individual returned to the exam room and explained that I would have to wait until the bill was submitted to the insurance company, at which time I would know my exact out-of-pocket cost, which would be a few weeks. Here's the kicker: The individual said Dr. Wakily would only do the procedure after my out-of-pocket cost was determined. My problem with Smilist East Islip is that they seemed overly concerned about money, I/O the patient. No one truly heard me regarding my overpayment scenario. I have always paid for my out-of-pocket costs without incident. Instead of taking the time to understand my situation as a patient, they preferred not to do the procedure, even after it was affirmed that it could be done the same day. I have worked in corporate America for over thirty years, and every time I had a conversation with one of my clients (large and small), they would always tell me that customer service is more important than costs. Smilist East Islip needs to be reminded of that critical fact! Smilist East Islip lost a long-standing, good-paying customer today!
