Purchased my wedding gown last year on Super Bowl Sunday because they were offering sales on their wedding gowns. I didn't find the place very helpful. The woman I had wasn't very knowledgeable. Also, I'm not a very big person, but I had to get a gown to fit me almost 6 sizes bigger than what I usually wear. Which meant I had a lot of alterations up at the top . The dress never did fit me right the dress was gorgeous however, they do not have sizes to accommodate you it seems that alterations are definitely necessary. Their alterations are very expensive and I chose to go somewhere else. So in the end, even after my alterations, it was very tough For the dress to fit properly. I was also recommended double-sided tape which did not hold a word to the wise check out other places don't settle for this place. read more

The best. After impersonal cattle call experiences at those bigger bridal stores in the city, where my sister was limited to 5 dresses that a stylist chose, we headed to Sales Unlimited. What a difference! The owner and every staff member we interacted with were just wonderful. They care about the bride and her squad beyond the $$$. Beautiful dresses, of course, but also impeccable service. I bought my maid of honor dress there and the alterations (complete with 2 fittings- unheard of for someone who isn't the bride!) were less expensive than if I'd gotten some dress from David's Bridal. I fell in love with a specific wedding dress, and Sales Unlimited offered the best prices - their costs for their actual styles and tailoring are so reasonable and fair. More importantly, their seamstress team is highly-skilled, beautifully making complicated alterations - like adding inches of lace applique to illusion sleeves so they could be exactly the length I hoped for. This place is a nightmare! Last Saturday we drove 2hrs to pick up my daughter's and her friend's bridesmaid dresses, only to find out they weren't ready. They still had the pins in the dress from the prior appointment. When they questioned the red headed manager about this, she was very rude, and quite argumentative with us. We were told to come back to pick the up another day. The final outcome - the dress is completely awful...one side is very large in the bra area, and the other is too tight. They can't fix it! Another bridesmaid dress is too short, they were told there's nothing they can do. There are so many wonderful places to buy dresses, and receive terrific service, this is not one of them. read more

BUYERS BEWARE DO NOT GO TO SALES UNLIMITED BRIDAL IN BAYVILLE - This store lies and keeps your money! Sunday I went to this store with 5 other bridesmaids. My future sister in law liked a dress that we all tried on and ended up purchasing this dress. She had a change of heart and contacted the business to let them know we all wanted to cancel the order on Tuesday when the store had reopened. She told Karen (the owner) she didn't want the dresses and needed to cancel. Karen nastily said FINE but I'm charging a 15% fee . A 15% fee for what? She is charging all the bridesmaids for measuring us! Which I will say legit took 2 seconds. When called out on this "MADE UP" fee she states it has been her policy for years. Mind you, it is NOT on the receipt that list her policy nor on her website anywhere! She also failed to mention it verbally until now since we cancelled the dresses! IF SHE HAD A MEASUREMENT FEE I WOULD'VE PAID $299 INSTEAD OF THE $260 which would've been the additional $39 (15%). The ONLY ADDITIONAL COST mentioned to all of us was the alterations fee of $75 if the dresses needed it! She refuses to give us the full refund! As a future bride myself and my mom needing to eventually purchase 2 dresses- one for my brother's wedding and eventually one for mine...never will we step foot back into this store to purchase anything nor would I recommend this shop to future mother in law along with fellow friends! read more

BEWARE DO NOT GO TO SALES UNLIMITED IN BAYVILLE - The owner is a straight up THEIF. Myself and 5 other bridesmaids went there on Sunday. Our friend the bride liked a dress we had all tried on and we purchased. Later on that night she had a change of heart . She contacted the business on Facebook Sunday evening to let them know she had changed her mind and that we all wanted to cancel the order. She was told to contact Karen on Tuesday morning when they reopened. She did so and once she told Karen she didn't want the dresses anymore Karen tried saying she would issue us a store credit and we could come back and try another dress. The bride stated that she rather have us have our money back because we were not sure when we can even all get together to go look at dresses again and wanted us all to have our money back. The owner Karen nastily said FINE but I'm charging a 15% fee . Well Karen you can not do that because we all have receipts where it does not say you get to randomly choose a fee to charge us none the less 15% on $260 . $39 your taking from 6 girls . Absolutely upsurd. Contacted the bank and because she is disputing it with this made up 15% fee that is not on the signed policy/receipt that I I have , it will take up to 45 days for me to get ALL of my money back . So now this owner is holding on to $260 of MY money plus 5 other girls. It's completely unacceptable .Also I would like it to be noted before I wrote this review I contacted the owner one more time to see if she would do that right thing and give me my refund and she kept making up excuses saying oh well my husbands a lawyer and he said she can do this , and that she's charging the fee because we were sized for all of 15 seconds / then she said it was because the credit card company was charging her . Rude, Unprofessional, & always looking to see where they can throw another charge onto your bill. Dress came in four weeks before the wedding. They knew we lived 2hrs away. Came down 4 times to alter and pick up the dresses but it was never done. Still had pins in them. A week before the wedding finally have the dresses. They're horrible. Hems completely messed up, some bridesmaid dresses too big, some too small. Broken zippers, hole in the chest of the dress, fraying of another dress- what a disaster of a place. And all they say is there's nothing they can do about any of it. I would not recommend anyone going here. A complete joke of a staff. I've never met people more rude. read more

I wish I could give this place zero stars. By far the worst experience I have had as a bridesmaid. Not only is the staff rude, their work is absolutely terrible! The dresses came in only one month prior to the wedding date. We drove two hours for the "final pickup" only to be told they were not ready and the pins were still in the dresses from the first fitting. The staff had a nasty attitude when we questioned them, and told us to simply come back the week before the wedding to pick them up. When we did, the dresses were completely butchered!!! Multiple problems with multiple dresses. Too short, too tight, too big, crooked hem, broken zipper! Their response "there is nothing we can do." Absolutely insane! They also charge $50 ahead for alterations and $20 extra for "bra cups" that look like they came out of a bathing a suit. I would not recommend this place anyone! read more

I am a bit biased, as I really didn't check out many other bridal salons BUT...the reason that I picked this one was because I saw this amazing Maggie Sottero dress in a mag and they were the closest vendor to have her stuff. I got engaged in February and my wedding was in October, so we wanted to make sure that we all got our dresses early on. The minute we walked in we shopped and all found what we wanted. The dress I originally went there for didn't look great on me, but I did find another Maggie Sottero dress that ended up being my gown. Everyone is just so down to earth and helpful there. I was very happy to find out as well that not only do they do bridal dresses and tuxes they also do tailoring, and cleaning and presevering of bridal gowns. They are also very affordable and seem to have something available in all price ranges. read more

This place has strict rules: no photos and they don't tell you the dress style or brand until you commit to buying your dress. They actually cut the tags off the dresses so you don't know. This is a huge issue for me because I was heavily considering a dress from their store and a dress from Barefoot Bridal in Red Bank. I was able to show friends and family photos of the dress at Barefoot and had nothing to compare it to with the dress at this store. I called and explained to the owner that I was torn between two dresses and asked if she could make an exception to send me a photo of even just the top part of the dress (which is the part I really wanted to compare). She was nasty to deal with and would not budge explaining that "she has policies." I explained to her that I was not trying to price shop the dresses - the dress at Barefoot was a completely different style of dress by a brand they don't even sell and vice versa. She still would not budge and thus I told her then I can't consider the dress and her store. She was completely fine with losing my $2000+ business. It was really a 50/50 shot between the two and an honest bride to be who literally just wanted to compare the two to make a decision. What I also did not like was that I felt pressured when I was there to buy the dress quickly - they told me it could get discontinued any day so I should not wait long, while other stops told me I had plenty of time (my wedding is 13 months away) and I should still keep looking. read more

The alterations team is just as wonderful as the sales girls! My sales girl, Mary Jo found my soul dress and it was exactly what I thought I wouldn't wear but I trusted her and tried it on and fell in love immediately! Let me just sum up the entire experience since I have updated : *Informed staff is aware dressed run small. This is after I paid $40 for the next larger size. While being told I don't have to and it should fit fine *dress is ill-fitting and staff brushed off concerns saying "it's fine" *I was asked if I was pregnant *Bride asked if she was lifting or on her period (they later blamed it on 'swimming') *Seamstress wanted signs in the window, while being told they were 'on vacation' *Asked for the balance due on the dress twice which was fully paid for before it's arrival including alterations (this was obviously and error on my part to pre-pay) I pick up the dress today, it's as good as its getting, as I am taking off the dress after the final fitting the owner? or seamstress? some woman comes in as I am NAKED - well I did have undergarments on, but still practically NAKED - and says she read the review and I am wrong and that upset her - need I remind you? NAKED! I had to inform her that the way I had been treated and in fact this entire conversation was EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL! Who accosts a customer while they are in such a vulnerable state of undress? I was shocked at the horrible service or general regard for someone's comfort or privacy. Although the staff was incredibly welcoming at first, they quickly changed when they quickly realized they had nothing that I was interested in. The store smelled old, the styles were incredibly dated, it was cramped inside and the dresses were incredibly overpriced for the quality. The sales woman helping me rushed me in and out of dresses, opened the door while I was changing and was so incredibly rude. Was part of a bridal party and unfortunately this is where the bride chose to get our dresses. Every time we went there new charges were added to our bill. Even when having slips that said paid in full, still had us owing more money when we went to get dresses. Also went back on initial alteration agreement made with bride. My sister-in-law and I ordered flower girl dresses for our daughters at Sales Unlimited. The staff was great when we were ordering and led us to believe that the dresses and sashes we were ordering were coming directly from the manufacturer. Instead, they made their own sashes and ordered my daughter a dress that was two sizes too small. When we confronted them, they were trying to accommodate us, but were rude, lied several times and made us feel uncomfortable. When we finally worked things out and I picked up the dress, no one even helped us try it on, they didn't want to iron it, and just said here you go. Disaster! The only stress I had with planning my wedding was at this dress shop. They got appointments wrong, they overcharged my bridesmaids, the lost my veil, the made us go to unnecessary fitting appointments and once we had the gowns they were either not hemmed or too big in the bodice area. They were rude to us, they dyed the shoes the wrong color and seared the flower girls dress when they pressed it, etc (but I don't want to bore you with details). We thought we were having a great experience coming to this shop for my daughters wedding dress .. unfortunately when we were at the hair salon the morning of the wedding the long cathedral veil was removed from the plastic covering to find NO BLUSHER attached to the veil. several times when my daughter had her fittings the owner said the blusher was being attached to the cathedral veil. the next problem arose at the reception when every button had popped from the dress for the bustles and after 1 hour her dress was dragging the remainder of the reception .. I called the shop the next day because my daughter left for her honeymoon and the woman that answered the phone seemed very sympathetic and said the store owner would be back from vacation in a few weeks after Christmas. My daughter lives in another state now so I took the dress in tonite to speak directly to the owner and got ZERO satisfaction. The owner denied there ever was a blusher and said to me "Well it is a ONCE and WEAR dress I can sew the buttons back on for you" .... I would not EVER recommend having the dress altered in this shop. The price was good for the dress compared to other shops but the find detail was not right. There is NO WAY a bride should have to have a long train dragging all night. She also didn't refund the mishap of the blusher either. Would not recommend this shop!!!! read more

I was not pleased with my experience here. My best friend is getting married in a few weeks and we have been coming to Sales Unlimited for the bridesmaids dresses. At our first meeting, the bridal party came to check out the selection. The sales associates were not very pleasant, and made us feel very unwelcome. One of the bridesmaids is plus size, and they made her feel very uncomfortable and were unwelcoming to the fact that any sample size dresses would not fit her. At my first fitting a few months after I bought the dress, the dress was a bit tight. I pre-paid for the alteration package and asked the seamstress to take the dress out just a bit so that it would fit perfectly. She told me I should 'try and lose 5 pounds before the wedding', as she didn't think it was 'worth her time' to take the dress out a 1/2 centimeter. I was appalled at the way they nonchalantly suggest I lose weight a few weeks before my best friends wedding. I left very upset.When a second bridesmaid went to pick up her completed dress, the associates told her she wasn't allowed to take it home yet because it wasn't steamed or pressed and gave her a very hard time in the store. My dress was not steamed or pressed upon pickup, very unprofessional and incomplete job. At my final fitting the dress did fit nicely, however the sales associate asked me for 30$ extra for alterations. I showed her my receipt from when I purchased the dress with the alteration package and she continued to hassle me for the extra 30$. When I told her I just wanted to take the dress home as I live far away, she looked down at my address and exclaimed that where I lived wasn't that far and that she drives even farther to get to work. The overall experience was uncomfortable and unpleasant. I would never suggest coming here to any bride or member of a bridal party as they do not make you feel welcome and insult you. read more

Saying yes to my dress, 7 bridesmaids gowns, 2 mother of the bride/groom gowns, and my flower girl dress came so easy here. From the moment I stepped in Sales Unlimited I felt incredibly welcome, warm and fuzzy like I had known them forever! Karen, Toni and Audra always made me feel special. I was so fortunate to have a one dress try on and have my "moment". They were able to get me in a small sample size and I knew even in a gown too small it was mine. My gown was ordered in the size I was prior to losing 50+ pounds and they altered my gown to fit me like a glove. I've never in my whole life felt the way I did when I was in my wedding gown and I owe it all to Sales Unlimited. My whole bridal party looked gorgeous and elegant and everyone got tons of compliments. Thank you Sales Unlimited for providing me with perfect customer service! I was very disappointed in Sales Unlimited. When I went for the first appointment in December to choose a dress, I really liked this place. The woman who helped me, Toni, was very knowledgeable and helped me find a dress I absolutely loved. We ordered the dress that day because my mom and I felt confident in the place. A few months later, my mom called to find out when the dress would come in and we were told June13th. I felt that seemed like a long time for a dress to come in, being that any website says the dress would take only 3 months but I tried not to worry about it. On June 10th I called to see if I could make an appointment for my first fitting and I was told, by the owner Karen, that there was no way my dress would come in on or near June 13th. I figured I'd give it a week and call back, which I did and was again told my dress wasn't in and they had no idea when it would be in. About 2 and half weeks after the dress was due in and a little over a month before my wedding I called again and was told by the owner that my dress might be in but it was in a box and she wasn't going to open it for a few days. I was able to make an appointment for my first fitting about 3 weeks after it was promised to be in the store. When I got there for my first fitting, the staff couldn't find the dress, turns out the owner never got to the box, so I got to see them take my dress out of a tiny bag...a big ball of wrinkles. It wasn't exactly how I pictured seeing my dress for the first time, but I guess that's how it is. Next, when I tried on the dress it was at least 2 sizes too big. They kept telling me that I lost weight, though I am a very small person naturally and this is probably the heaviest I've ever been in my life. I was very worried that it was going to be too big and fall down at the wedding, since it was strapless. Then I kept having to go back for fittings because they would tell me they would do things, like put in cups, take it in 2 sizes, do the bustle, bring up the bottom, but each time I would go back only one thing would be done on the long list of things that needed to be done. I live over an hour away so it was a bit inconvenient to have to go back about 6 times. Any time I tried to talk to the owner about my displeasure, she would talk to me like a child, complain about her work load, and would lie to me about previous promises she made. And if my mom would call, the owner would complain to her about me being a bridezilla and tell her that I was lying about working out and trying to lose weight for the wedding...as if my own mother didn't know how thin I normally am! The owner even told me to bring my maid of honor to learn how to put up the bustle at my one appointment. My sister took off from work, drove an hour and a half to come, and the bustle wasn't even done. At that specific appointment, the seamstress just started to pin up the bustle so she could work on it, so it was impossible for it to be done and the owner knew that and still chose to waste my sister's time. But again, it was pointless to even question Karen because she didn't care about how her customers felt. The dress, in the end, looked beautiful (the seamstress does amazing work) and there was only a few flaws, mostly too much material in the hips from being ordered too big to begin with- though I doubt any one but me noticed. This was seriously the only stressful part of my entire wedding planning and I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. The dress may have looked good, but no one should be treated the way I was treated, especially when I'm buying the most expensive dress of my life. read more

i am writing this review in hopes it helps others to stay away from this place. my friend came in as a maid of honor. she was measured (incorrectly i mind you) and was told she had to pay extra for a bigger size. even though the sales person said she did not need too. the sales people do not know how to accuratley take measurements, and when corrected on the proper way to measure was told "i know what i am doing". clearly not the case. extra fees were charged for bigger size dress. when she came in for her fitting the dress was too small. she was told "not much can be done". when she was called back for second fitting nothing was changed. she was asked if she was pregnant? also told it looked good. i was with her for this fitting. it did not look good, there were visible wrinkles in the lining from where it was riding up. she was then told that these dresses run small. but yet she paid for a bigger size. when she picked up the dress, she was attacked by the sales person when she was naked in the fitting room for the review she wrote. this store does not have good sales people. customer service is completely insulting. especially if you are above a size 3. wish i could give no stars. terrible read more
