I also saw a lot of Baggu items, which is a brand that I really like. Lots of stuff I hadn't seen in person before, like the teeny tiny backpacks. They also had a lot of local art, jewelry, cards, candles, and more. It's a great spot for finding a gift for yourself or your favorite gal pals! Unfortunately I was not greeted when I came in nor when I was browsing, which I feel is such a small thing that can really make a difference when shopping. The person at the counter was with another customer, but even just a quick, "hi, welcome in!" can be so nice. That said, I would come back in the future just to check out what they have in stock.

Located in Kerrytown across the street from Detroit Street Filling Station, this woman-owned business is stocked full of so many unique and thoughtfully curated and sourced items. You want to come here for all the most unique and gorgeous looking goodies to gift to yourself and your loved ones and make sure to stop by often as they have a rotating selection of goodies throughout the seasons and months as well! They always have gorgeous window displays, the employees are always so happy to see you and the service is wonderful, and this shop is just so dreamy! Things are definitely on the pricey side here, but everything is really high quality and they feature a ton of local artisans in the area as well. There's nothing I love more than an intentional shop and you can truly feel how intentional Thistle & Bess is in every detail their store contains. Absolutely lovely and always worth a peruse whenever you find yourself in the Ann Arbor area!

$6 per person to enter…read more In the 1970s and 80s this was the place to go for unusual, rare things. Probably a dozen buildings, two dozen tents, many tables in the open. Hundreds of vendors from all over the Great Lakes and midwest. Most of the things we used to furnish our home came from this venue. Now, 3 half filled buildings. Most things not priced. Some very nice things but most of it run of the mill. Not worth the trip, the time or the entrance fee. You will notice that the previous reviews listed are from 2006 and 2008.... Huge disappointment.

Even if you have a focus (say, antique dolls or post cards or jewelry or a specific furniture item) you'll find it hard to stay on task. It's more fun to just walk around and browse. On our last trip, we found the china cupboard of our dreams and bought it even though we had not planned any such purchase that day. The management makes a very strong claim to oversee the booth owners, to kick out anyone who mislabels things, and to squelch dealers who buy and mark up items for resale the same day.

Not only were we delighted with the service and just the caliber of humanity we encountered in the store, but Rhonda herself hand delivered our re-sized rings to us in NYC when they were ready a couple months later. She surprised us with champagne and appetizers, took pictures of us as we opened them, and even gave us cupcakces for dessert AND bought us a bouquet of flowers. After that, she took pictures of us by Rockefeller Center. This woman just goes above and beyond and may be the first person we've encountered to truly have a heart of gold. The quality of the rings is exquisite, the re-sizing perfect, the attention to detail, the personal attention....we will remember this for the rest of our lives. It's rare to encounter not only incredible service, wonderful products in terms of both selection and value, but also each and every person we interacted with in the store to be so genuinely kind and curious about our love story, and eager to support us and help us find something that expresses our individual personailities.
