Outside of the fact that all items are second hand, and therefore cheaper than a brand new item, the prices are a little higher than other thrifts. I was enjoying a cold beverage while ducking into the shops that lined the streets. Gardenviews, a white building with bright blue accents, stands out among the colorful buildings here. Inside, couples and friends browsed for the knick-knacks that personalize a home. I was struck by the beautiful displays: antique shelves, desks, and console tables upon which were dishes, candles, and home goods. I saw many things that I liked, toys for kids, hand towels with cute sayings, and garden accents, but I was here for a gift. My friend loves lavender and since I could not find a lavender tea that I thought she would like from a nearby spice store, I was determined to get a lavender room spray, candle, or soap as a thank-you for all her kindness. I don't deserve her as a friend. I found some beautifully wrapped, wonderfully-scented soaps, imported from Italy that I thought she would love. The store also gift wraps items, if requested.

We waited for someone from the store to come over and one of the ladies who worked there came over and apologized to us. I tried to apologize and she said no worries. I tried to pay for the damages but they wouldn't except that. We later were talking to one of the owners who was truly genuine and knowledgeable about outdoor vases. She told us the best time to order and what to order for the best price. They have so many neat items in their store and really love what they sell. I am just glad little places like this are around where people really love what they sell and for great prices.
