The workers greet you as soon as you enter. Sometimes they are busy stocking shelves, but once you're ready, you can just tell them and they'll come over. This place is pretty lax. This is a good place to go to for hair dyes. There are a lot of brands to choose from and the workers can help you choose if you're not too sure what is right for your hair type. There's also a lot of nail files, hair extensions, hair masks, makeup brushes, hair curlers/dryers, eyelashes, eyelash glues, and earrings. I've gotten a lot of piercing guns from here. They have single-use piercing guns that work nicely and so you can make sure its sterile when you inject it. I usually buy my earrings from here because my grandma and I both have very sensitive ears. I tried to look for shampoo for oily-type hair and didn't find a single bottle so I was surprised. For a student, I would say this place is pricey. But if you subscribe to their emails and have a membership($5), there are good deals that come up throughout the year! And once you sign up for a membership you get an email with $5 off, so basically its free and you can renew it every year the same way. read more

The nail polish selection isn't the best, and I expected they'd have OPI nail polish and they didn't. Bummer! All in all, this place doesn't suck. I buy all my nose jewelery from Sally's because they have a great selection and I find it more durable than what I have purchased at other beauty supply stores. My mom comes here to get her personal hair coloring supplies, and I bought my favorite round brush like a decade ago, and it is still in good condition. Staff never went out of their way to help me, but if I asked for something, they did help me in a friendly manner. read more

This Sally location is convenient, as it is located across the street from the Lynbrook LIRR station in Phillips Plaza. That is the only perk of this location. The workers here are not very knowledgeable, as they are either too busy having personal conversations at either the register or in the back. The manager of this store refuses to take a coupon off your phone, which most other locations will. The store also feels understocked, because a lot of stuff is missing from shelves (do not come here if looking for ethnic hair products). I've gotten to the point where I either go to the Garden City location or order online rather than come to this location. I recommend you do the same. read more

I love Sally's Beauty Supply but the staff at this location isn't very friendly. Walked in on a Sunday and the girl was like we're closing in 8 minutes really loud as soon as I walked in the door. The people that work here are not that helpful if at all and they don't have many of the things I look for... Their nail polish selection :-( and I find that many of the accessories I do buy end up breaking or popping within a week... Let's add some more to this particular store... unfortunately, they usually don't get to open the store on time which is indicated on the web site and the door. When you try to call the store, as I just did now, to be sure they are there before I waste time and gas,,, you get their fax machine. It seems to me that they obviously don't care about the business and I have to wonder where the manager of this store hides out and what he/she has to say about all the negative feedback. This Sally's is just 'ok'. I only come here when I absolutely have to. For the most part they're always in stock of my favorite Demi Wispies lashes! I rarely ask for help when I come here so I can't speak on the workers, but I only stop by here after I grab a cup of joe next door. read more

I visited this Sally beauty specifically for a Mr. Pumice foot file and they had it (on sale for around $2). I also picked up tweezers with holiday colors on clearance for .69 cents. Upon entering I asked the assistant where the foot products were, because I went to this location for specific items. The associates were helpful to me even though there was a long line. I didn't look around much so I can't review anything other than that. This is my go-to for Mr. Pumice products!!! read more

I went to this store Feb 24,2010 and the two employees there were soo rude. We asked a simple question about an item because their tags were all messed up. The the woman behind the register (who wasn't even there the whole time) she had a major attitude saying she "don't know, look in the flier it MIGHT have a coupon" so rude and not helpful at all that was really disgusting behavior. Then another employee came over because we were in utter shock and she tried to explain the tag she had an attitude while doing it and the information she gave us was wrong. This is very bad especially for a place in a nice neighborhood, I hope they get new employees. read more

This was always my Sally's of choice. Not any more. The counter help was on their cell phones as I entered the store. No greeting, no nothing. The shelves were empty and the aisles were cluttered. When I asked one of the "sales" people ( I use the term "sales" very lightly) to check their back stock for an item, she was completely reluctant. I asked again and she walked into the stock room, turned around in about 3 seconds and told me it was out of stock. I will never step foot in this dump again. read more

Beware of their pricing. They are dishonest and misleading. After calling the store during the week I was told they had a specific hair dryer I wanted in stock. When I arrived at the store, they said they didn't have it. They finally checked the stock and they have four dryers. There was a price tag of of $122.99 on the box and they tried to charge me $145.00. I confronted them on the higher price and they claimed it was an old price tag. Really? I told them Sally charges less online price. Frustrated by their ignorance and lack of concern I asked to speak to the manager. No manager available on a Saturday. Their ignorant staff is clueless as to customer service. It is easier to buy on Amazon. A dump of a store! Not worth supporting local businesses that are poorly run. read more
