Horrible experience and I was there for less than five minutes. The middle aged lady with the long brown hair and valley girl accent had an attitude as soon as I walked in. I just wanted two products and they did not have them so I was going to leave, but instead this lady kept pushing for me to buy stuff so she'd get credit. I placed an online order and they were quick to charge me and they email me that my order was ready for pickup and when I arrived at the store my order wasn't ready because there was a glitch in the system. They couldn't fix it and I needed to call customer service because apparently my order was canceled and needed a refund. read more

It's rare that I make reviews, but when someone gives great customer service people should know about it. I went in yesterday and was enthusiastically greeted by Tyler. I asked several questions regarding different products and was given very detailed feedback which I really appreciated. I ended up getting mostly everything that was recommended. I have been a Sally's customer for years, and I was very pleased to know that even in a different state, the shop standard is the same. The place is always super clean, and the employees are always very friendly and helpful. I tend to change my hair color often and the employees are always honest about what product works best. My hair is very curly and very thick and tends to have a mind of its own, so being able to ask questions and get advice really helps. I have yet to be disappointed by the amazing employees of this location. They are just great :) read more

I find the employees very helpful here but the stock is quite low compared to other Sallys I have been to in other states. I also have been to the store during times when they were supposed to be open and they weren't. I figured it was Covid related but still is disappointing when you run out of products and have to go online and purchase when your local store is 2 miles away. read more

I love this place...not only can you find great discounts on haircare, supplies, and hair ... the staff is super sweet and willing to help anyone who comes thru the door. Once I bought hair extentions and the clips to sew in myself...well the clips weren't working right...they are about 4 minutes from my house...I hopped in the car (in my pjs and wild hair) and asked them for help...the one girl showed me which clips would work best and gave me an exchange for all the clips I bought! How nice! When I came back one day to buy curlers she asked how my hair turned out (the span between these two events was about 4 months)...it was really nice that she remembered and I told her they turned out amazing, that I was wearing them even! My experience at this Sally's Beauty store was unlike any other. I have never felt more ridiculed and degraded of my background. I came to the store solely to buy my hair dye and when I approached a store employee, I asked where to find the pink dye in specific. She looked at me and said "Pink?! Okay..." I didn't think anything of it, although I felt slightly disrespected of my personal preferences. The more I interacted with the employee and expressed my interests for pink dye, I felt as if she did not want to help me. This employee was a young woman with highlights in her hair. I bought a darker hair dye because I felt self conscious about the comments the employee made and later decided to return it due to the fact that I felt disrespected by this location. When I went to the store again, a new employee helped me with my return. She was an older lady with glasses and short hair. She asked if I needed a translator in the rudest manner, while I had spoken to her in English beforehand. I handed her my receipt and she yanked it out of my hand, indicating to me that she was not happy to help me with my simple return. I told her I was returning my items because my mom had already bought them for me, as I did not want to bring up my past situation out of respect. She asked "Why didn't you talk to your mom before?" I was very shocked by this question and could not react to it. I felt degraded and repressed from taking further action on the situation. I kept calm and continued with the return process. I took my money and left the store afterwards. I come to this area often and have been to this store, but I have never had an experience like this one. I hope action is taken against these employees. They had no reason to be unhappy to help customers at a job they signed up for. If they are not suitable for an environment where customers of different cultures and backgrounds visit and do not show a warm welcoming to every individual, they should not have a job that involves customer service. Only when you are someone of an oppressed background, will you understand the display of hatred people will indirectly motion to you. I will not be returning. Have a nice day. read more

I went to Sally's today to buy my root touch up color. I wasn't sure about the color I needed to buy. I think it's the store manager who helped me choose the color I needed. The women working there are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about their products. I have not been to a Sally's Beauty Supply where the employees have been so nice and helpful. Good customer services here. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and welcomed. Within a minute, I was asked if I needed help.

May of 2016: I went in to buy a curling iron or wand. I was undecided on what I wanted and looking for assistance. There appeared to be only one very young timid girl working. She asked if I needed help. I asked what some of the differences were between the 1" curling irons/wands. She clearly had no clue. She said "honestly, this one is gold. That's really the only difference". Hmmm. Then she pointed to one brand and said "well, you can use this one anywhere". I assumed she meant internationally, but just in case, asked what did she mean? "well, you can go places...Hawaii...and places...and plug this one into the wall & it won't blow up and this other one will." (not kidding, exact conversation/her exact words) First I wanted to give her a geography lesson. I almost just left but I really needed a curling iron. She should know basics, like one may have auto shut-off, one may have a longer cord, one may heat to a higher temp. I finally chose one on my own and got to the register and saw a display right next to me that showed that the one I chose was actually on sale! I mentioned it and she looked surprised. She had no idea. It used to be that people who worked at Sally's had some beauty experience. God forbid I had needed advice on hair dye or something more technical than a curling iron. I suggest training and a manager on site in case a newbie employee has questions. I can always go to CosmoProf, it's just that Sally's is closer. Totally scared that customer service is a thing of the past in a lot of stores. August 2016: For no reason other then it is close to my house (against my better judgment) I decided to go back to Sally to buy a new blow-dryer as mine died that morning. I got there & the same girl that waited on me last time was there tonight. I thought I would give her another chance (maybe she had been trained since then) and ask her about the blow-dryers and the difference between all of the different ones they carry so I could choose the one I needed. She said there's "NO difference except the name brand". I said I sincerely doubt that there is not some kind of difference between the $100 blow dryer and the $20 blow dryer. She pointed to one box and said well this one is quieter... And then she said "oh wait, no..." (She had pointed specifically to a word on the box that showed what accessory was included with the dryer, thinking it meant quiet??) I asked her if anyone else at the store knew more about hairdryers and she kind of hemmed and hawed and I asked her again I had to ask her three times and finally she went in the back (loudly exclaiming SHEESSSHHH...as she walked around the corner). There is a mirrored ceiling tile in the store (for security) and I could see her back there talking to another girl who worked there. I heard (& saw) the two of them whispering back there and they were gone for about 3 or 4 minutes or so and I finally just gave up and left. They obviously had no intention of coming back out to help me. I cannot believe that a store like this that has absolutely no training in the most basic of their products that they carry. I do not know how the store stays in business. The people are rude and the customer service is absolutely atrocious. read more

I go to Sally's on the regular and I try to avoid the Camarillo location like the plague due to the fact the lady with red hair who works there... I've had a couple of instances with her that are beyond annoying. First one was when they had a promo of spending a certain amount get the free bag.... I believe it was spend $40 I spend $38 something and before I walked out I asked how much I was supposed to spend to get the tote, she's said "oh that's only if you spend $40" well it would have been nice if she mentioned "if you spend 2 more dollars you can get this tote for free. Except I had to ask and there was three people behind me and she was taking her time so I didn't have the time to sit there and have her return everything in me add two more dollars to my order. Just simple sales etiquette you'd think.. then yesterday when I went in for the buy two get one free sale which started at the beginning of June... after paying and looking at my receipt she didn't take off the discounted free ones, so we had to do a return and re do the transaction... and because I paid w my DEBIT card she said I could only get the money put back on my card..(which we all know takes days to go back in your acct) I asked just for cash back and she said I couldn't because I paid with a debit, which at any store known to man you can return something and get cash back if you paid debit, not credit. I'm just curious as to what my next encounter will be w her in the store! Or maybe I'll just go out of my way to avoid going in there! (First yelp review ever btw, had to) read more

I want to start off by saying that the young woman at the cashier counter is an absolute ANGEL. She introduced herself as 'Joanna'. Her disposition and positivity radiates throughout the whole store, and she is able to multitask with several different customers at a time, while keeping the store clean and accessible - even with the shipment that was being brought in. We had a little mix-up this morning, but chalking it up to an early morning (and a Monday no less), things turned out great anyway. I cannot wait until the next time I need to tone my hair. On Feb 21, 2016 my husband and I called, on speaker, to find a particular item and their closing time. The girl said they had the item and that they were closing at 7:00 p.m.. We explained we would be right over and arrived at 6:45 p.m.. We found the door locked, one clerk hiding behind the counter and the leader in the back motioning that they were closed and would not open the door. She then said we did not ask those questions and that she did not answer them. The clerk behind the counter came out and stood at the door staring at us. We then left to shop else where. We discontinued shopping there about 5 or 6 years ago because of another problem with them. This, however is the final straw. These 2 employees should be disciplined and or terminated. They are apparently under the opinion that even without customers they will still have employment. read more

I went to Sally's yesterday to get a toner. A young blonde girl helped me. I don't know what kind of training they have there but now my hair is orange, white, and grey. I will be going back there tomorrow to get my money back. If your employees don't know what they are doing, they should not give advise. I am extremely irritated and disappointed. When people asked me what happened to my hair, I told them I went to Sally's and asked for advise. Everyone I told me never to do that. Store visit 29 Sept 2012. I normally have great experiences when I come into this story however this weekend it wasn't the best. The normal people were not working and there was a younger girl in there with some rough hair ends. I expressed I was looking for some rollers. I wanted medium sized and asked her if she could help me. She stated that she is not experienced with rollers. So since you are not experienced do you have someone else here that can help me she stated no. So I expressed interest in the long tube like rollers. These are the ones that my hair stylist recommended me. She states that for my type of hair that I should not select these rollers. Well what type of hair is that? Is the question I wanted to ask. You don't know what type of hair I may have in my head it could be Italian, Brazil, Indian, synthetic, Malaysian, or my own. Maybe the comment should have been that for courser hair the rollers don't work. Lucky for her the rollers in my course hair did work. Just be careful how you give advice to people on hair products. read more
