DO NOT LET TRACY TOUCH YOUR HAIR! SHE IS NOT A COLOR SPECIALIST!…read more I would give a ZERO rating if it was an option. My daughter and I have been loyal clients of this salon for almost 3 years. During those 3 years we were a part of and overheard multiple conversations with Tracy AND Katie about what a great "color specialist" Tracy was. So when my daughter had a stage show coming up and couldn't wait until Katie was back from early maternity leave, it seemed like a no-brainer for her to schedule with Tracy. She told Tracy what she wanted, and Tracy assured her she could do it. Unfortunately, Tracy was NOT a "color specialist" and colored my daughter's hair black and then tried to "fix it" by BLEACHING it, causing severe chemical damage. The result was extensive breakage and compromised hair integrity that began an expensive 6-month journey (almost $600 to date) to try and repair. What made this even more upsetting was Tracy wasn't up front about what was happening. Instead, she was taking pictures of my daughter's hair and going to the back of the salon to send them to Katie to see what to do. But my daughter was already upset and was texting me telling me she had ORANGE streaks in her hair. She even had my daughter PAY for this damage. I called Katie and told her what happened and that's when she told me about Tracy sending her pictures, etc. on the day the damage was done. She couldn't believe Tracy had charged my daughter for the visit and immediately refunded her money. She told us we had every right to be upset and that she would try her best to fix it when she got back in the salon, but that it would be a process. She later told me that Tracy realized she was "in over her head" and didn't know what to do, as if that mattered. As a result, my daughter had to do every sold out show with her hair in this condition. So the process began to try and get my daughter's hair back to it's normal "Pre-Tracy" condition. As of last week when we went for our regular appointment with Katie, my daughter's hair came out a bluish gray. I asked her if my daughter's hair would ever be back to normal and she could not say for certain. Then she tried to downplay the damage as if we couldn't see it for ourselves. My daughter became very upset because on one side of her hair it feels like straw and looks damaged....not to mention the bluish gray color. And this is after 3 or 4 visits (which my daughter paid for) to try and fix the damage that Tracy caused. Katie made it very clear she had done all she could to try and fix my daughter's hair. She became very heated and unprofessional, raising her voice to us and saying that if we weren't satisfied with the process we could part ways. NEVER ONCE did we say ANYTHING NEGATIVE about ANYTHING Katie had done to try and fix my daughter's hair, so this caught us completely off guard! Needless to say we left there very upset and have vowed to NEVER return to this salon. To this day Tracy has NEVER had the decency to apologize to my daughter for what happened, and even hid in the back of the salon when we had appointments. So now we are left to try and find a REAL color specialist to try and repair my daughter's hair. I am leaving this review as a warning to unsuspecting trusting people looking for someone to do their hair. Do NOT trust Tracy with any color services. Please see pictures. Thank you.

I was blessed to meet Mrs Michelle Shaw from Sola Salon Studios at Riverchase Village, suite 33. The first thing you notice when walking in Michelle's salon is the bright lighting and the friendly atmosphere that makes you feel warm and welcomed. The suite is clean and well organized. There's no stray dust or hair any in the salon. I hadn't had a relaxer in 7 months due to an awful experience I had with another salon I mentioned in a prior review. Michelle isn't trying to take your money with expensive services you don't want. She gave me a consult prior to beginning my service to find out my hair history and hair goals. She specializes in a vast variety of services. I usually burn during a relaxer but since she talked to me about my past experiences. I was expecting to burn but surprisingly after 7 months I had a pleasant experience. Michelle is all about healthy hair. She educates her clients on what their specific needs are and tailors the service around it. I received both a hair and scalp treatment and my scalp was thrilled with tingling/soothing product used on my scalp. To add, my hair is softer and silkier after the hair treatment in years! Another positive feature in Michelle's suite is the styling chair serves as the sink chair as well so no bouncing from seat to seat. There's not a lot of loud people or kids running around the shop so this is truly a getaway with no inappropriate behavior. I told Shaundrica that I wanted a shorter cut but not too short, and she suggested a slightly below-the-chin length. Whatever she did, I LOVED the result! You can't choose a specific name for a stylist but I learned you can enter your name then add the specific name. Like John Doe w/ Patrick. I had a…read morelast-minute cancellation at another salon for an updo, and I honestly never expected Great Clips to be able to bring my vision to life--but I was pleasantly surprised! I'm so thankful they were able to fit me in. The only slight inconvenience was having to bring my own hair ties and a few extra items, since the salon is a bit limited on certain supplies and updos aren't very common there. But aside from that, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend them!
