A Truly Relaxing Luxury Spa Experience…read more From the moment I walked into Woodhouse Spa in Louisville, I felt relaxed. The aroma in the lobby immediately set the tone for what turned out to be an absolutely wonderful spa experience. Check-in was seamless, and I was immediately given a tour of the facility. I was then able to change into a comfortable robe and sandals and settle into the spa experience. I spent some time enjoying the sauna before retreating to the lounge, where I was offered a choice of hot tea, wine, water, or a mimosa. I grabbed some chocolate and a selection of mixed nuts from the snack bar, found a cozy lounger, wrapped myself in the provided blanket, and simply enjoyed being able to unwind. After some time, my massage therapist came to get me for my 80-minute Swedish massage. I chose the woody aromatherapy scent, and it was the perfect complement to the experience. The massage was as relaxing as they come. My therapist regularly checked in with me about the pressure, and I really appreciated her technique. Her strokes were long, slow, and deliberate, and she never seemed rushed. I walked out of the treatment room feeling completely relaxed. Another thing I appreciated was the checkout experience. There was absolutely no pressure to purchase products, which can sometimes take away from an otherwise relaxing experience. Is Woodhouse pricey? Absolutely. But in my opinion, it's worth it for the upscale atmosphere, attention to detail, amenities, and highly skilled therapists. I also really appreciated the convenience of the attached parking in the PNC Tower, with the spa comping two hours of parking. Overall, this was exactly what I want from a luxury spa experience. From the beautiful atmosphere to the thoughtful amenities and exceptional massage, Woodhouse delivered from beginning to end. I would absolutely return and highly recommend Woodhouse Spa to anyone looking for a true high-end, relaxing spa experience in Louisville!

I've now experienced the head spa treatment. My appointment was on a Friday afternoon and "Mo" was…read morewatching for me. She was incredibly kind and helpful, especially knowing it was my first time. I was the only person at the spa so I didn't experience anything more than the sound of music and running water. I wasn't sure what to expect. Here's what I learned that may be helpful to you for the head spa experience: - The Thai bed offered the comfortable, wider bed. It was heated and I was covered with blankets. - You will wear a towel on your top. Straps would be in the way. Come wearing a tube top, something that can be pulled down, or slip off your bra. - If you don't have warm socks, they offer fuzzy socks. - Lockers are provided for security. The key is attached to a bracelet and you can slip it on your wrist. - A scalp analysis is completed before and after. - The treatment started with a massage and it continues on and off throughout. - The pressure isn't painful but it can be intense, including on your scalp. My arm muscles were very tight so I was mindful to breathe through the soreness. - The head massagers are amazing. I've already looked up where to buy my own! -Your hair will be washed multiple times. Aveda products are used. Overall, a wonderful experience. It is definitely a splurge for me; however, this will be a treatment I'll come back for to keep my scalp and hair healthier, plus have an opportunity to relax.

Wonderful experience with Mo! My lower back feels fossilized sometimes because it's soooo tight,…read morebut Mo was so thorough and put in a lot of work to help alleviate the pain and stiffness, which has plagued me for about 20 years. I am fit and I am a longtime yoga practitioner. I understand my role in managing these issues, but no amount of exercise can offset 8 hours sitting at a computer a day. A good massage is sometimes the only thing that can help when my body really starts locking up. Ive tried a number of massage therapists who are trained through westernized programs, and I even had a standing appointment with a wonderful reiki master who was a massage instructor for many years. Unfortunately, none of these therapists (who were legitimately excellent) were able to provide much relief for issues like persistent psoas tightness and snapping hip syndrome, etc. Mo is the first massage therapist who really made a difference in my pain and my low back and hip function, after just one session. I don't know if I truly do need deep tissue work or if it just *feels* as if I need deep tissue massage to me because of my usual experiences, but I always ask for deep work and rarely feel as though it's even close to being deep enough. A lot of massage therapists just don't seem to have more than textbook classroom-based understandings of the body, and they tend to try to use sessions to lecture me about the most basic things or assert their expertise, even while they're failing to recognize where my muscles are tight and how to actually address the tightness. That's why I decided to try an eastern-based practitioner this time. This was a fairly vigorous and intense session and I got the exact pressure I wanted/needed, without having to even say anything. It felt as though I finally got some release along my spine. She also did exceptional work on my shoulders and mid-back as well and gave a brief scalp massage. It made my whole week! Lalai is my new standing massage therapy provider and I highly recommend them, and Mo :)

I called to book a deep tissue massage for 50 minutes, with the massage you can use the pool and facilities before or after your treatment. The spa has a very relaxing vibe and was very comfortable. I arrived about 30 minutes before my appointment. I had a short wait since there was only one person at the front desk and there were helping other clients at the time. When it was my turn, I was warmly greeted and given a tour of the facility. The changing rooms are right off the main lobby area, and I was guided around the area and advised on what was available to use. I decided to change and then head to the relaxation room to await my massage. The room had flavored water and hot tea available, as well as a few packaged snacks. There were several Lounge chairs available with sheer curtains to provide some privacy. My massage therapist arrived right around my massage time and took me to my room. She was very nice and explained the process and asked if I had any areas of concern. Unfortunately the massage wasn't great, I had opted for a deep tissue massage, but not a lot of pressure was used. She also never checked in with me during the massage and it ended a bit early. The facility is beautiful and next time I will try a facial or another service since I loved the atmosphere so much.
