I booked in for a blow out with Sam Moreland and it was a great experience. Online booking was simple (you will need to create an account). I was sent a text reminder to confirm my visit and another update 15 minutes prior to my appointment telling me to text Y when I arrived. I got there a couple of minutes prior to my appointment. Masks required. The team greeted me and got me a water, plus pointed out Sam to me. Fantastic shampoo and my hair smelled divine! Sam let me know the type of shampoo she was using on my hair and why, then helped me determine which style to go with for my event. I decided to do "sleek and smooth", which is exactly what I left with, and what I still have the following day. My hair feels great and Sam was kind. I appreciated her not rushing my experience and providing me with a great blow out. Reasonably priced as well, compared to other spots. I'll be back, 100%! read more

This place has my vote. It had my vote the first time I was here. I was a walk in. They took me right in. Natalie is my hair dresser. I think that's how you say it. She was really attentive to what I wanted and also my hair. She showed me some hair products that brought my game up a bit. She was able to shape my brows without making me look effeminate. I think that's how you say that. For fuck sake. I need to learn that word lol. But no seriously you should go in and ask for Natalie. She is awesome. She is for me. I like to sometimes unload some conversations with her about everything and so she listens. Even though she doesn't have to. It's like having a captive audience. It sucky sometimes when I say something not thinking lol. They take you upstairs to get your eyebrow waxed on a nice comfortable chair with a light. The downstairs is welcoming to anyone walking by or stopping in to get their hair done. The chairs are comfortable. Oh, and the complimentary drink is a plus. I am so glad to have found Fusion! I moved to the St. Matthews area not too long ago and was looking for a good, nearby salon to go to without spending an arm and a leg. My roots were awful, and I was wanting to go a lot blonder. Melissa has been wonderful and does such a great job with my hair every time! She is super sweet and listens to what I am wanting with my hair. Fusion gives the look of a high-end salon without the ridiculous price. Another salon I went to would charge me about $250, where here I only spend around $120 for the exact same thing. The receptionists are always very easy to book appointments with, and always greet me and offer me water when I walk in the door. I saw Sam the hairdresser and she cut my hair to fall nicely the way it grows. I love it. I have longish hair with some light layering. When you first walk into the salon, you are immediately greeted (sometimes by your name) by a receptionist, which makes the atmosphere feel comfortable + inviting. Then you're offered a beverage, which is an appreciated bonus! But. More importantly, Melissa Gollihue is the bomb! I would NOT trust anyone else with my hair. 3b curly mid back length hair here. Came in for a cut and style (Blowout) with SAM. I LOVED it. Sam is very knowledgeable about curly hair and the type of care that it needs. It had been a year since my last cut. Sam was very thorough in explaining the the process and reasoning when she was doing my hair. She gave me a cut thats gonna look Fabulous when I wear my hair curly (which is 95% of time) and gave me an awesome blowout that left my hair with a lot of body. Service is fine, location is good, blowout was okay. I've tried a lot of blowout places in the city and think this one is fine, there's just nothing decidedly distinctive about it. I did notice, however, when trying to book on their website that their website "wording" is almost EXACTLY like another blowout bar -- like almost verbatim, which really makes me question their authenticity and business practices. I'm not sure if anyone else would notice, but I do a lot of searching online before I try out most places. read more
