Less than zero, and certainly no "haven" Service provided: none Always risky when finding a new establishment, but my regular pedicurist is off on an extended maternity leave. Did my due diligence, read the reviews. booked in advance, showed up well before my appt time, cash in hand, and I checked in w/"Elliott." Ten minutes later "Angela Henson" comes around corner w: "They didn't check you in properly. They booked you for the wrong pedicure. I won't have enough time." A complete non-professional and harried ALL, to be clear ALL of these issues, are between she and the flamboyant desk jockey--not me. Likely not my vibe anyway. Salon seemed chaotic (not at all a Haven), full of old, clucking hens (and a woman sitting under a dryer w/the face of The Dark Knight Joker). All my opinions--of course. Can't really even be mad. It's hard to review a salon as most of us are attached to our stylist and the rest is background noise. So, I will highlight the salon itself for those considering a visit because I find it to be a pleasant spot to be on a consistent basis. Haven sits in St. Matthews and while it has a private lot, it is small. Be careful not to park in the spots for its neighbor. My appointments tend to be 4p or later and almost always there's a spot available. The hair stylists are located in front, circled around a column. There are about 5-6 chairs, so intimate but because the column and their work station are there, you aren't awkwardly staring at other people. I am slightly paranoid about people hearing my conversations (um, everyone in Louisville seems to know each other), but that's any salon spot. When I arrive, I'm always greeted, always. They also offer me a drink - tea, coffee or water. A few comfy chairs line the wall so you can leaf through magazines. At that end are also nail stations and a restroom that's always in good condition. As for making appointments, this has been another good experience. The reception is patient and helpful working with my schedule. If you like the products used on your hair, Haven had a small inventory for purchase. My hair always smells delicious when I leave. read more

Very clean and welcoming. I love the wax services and massages, both by Desi, who is awesome. I've never had my hair done there. The nail salon has separate tables and acrylic shields between patron and technicians. There are shelves lining the waiting area with nice products. You can also help yourself to a coffee, tea or water. This is my favorite salons in Louisville! read more

July 2021 Update: We went to Haven for our wedding beauty styling and it was the best decision! We used their private and oh-so cute space over at Little Haven. There we had 3 hair stations, 2 makeup stations, a private bathroom, and a snack/misc the room. Plus we could play our own music! It was so perfect for us. And I haven't even gotten to the TALENT! Oh my gosh. Everyone looked so beautiful. As the bride, Jordan did my makeup and Rachel did my hair. I had done an earlier trial with both of them and they each exceeded my expectations by seeing the several images I had on Pinterest and combining them all to create my perfect dream bridal look. Everyone else ranging from the 6-year-old flower girl to my 70-year-old mother-in-law looked wonderful. My friend who has beautiful but unruly natural curls reported that Rachel did a better job working with her hair than any stylist she's had. Indeed, her natural curls were tamed and enhanced into an elegant style. On top of it all, their pricing for wedding styling can't be beat. I did a lot of research and their value - when you balance price, talent, communication and organization - is the best in Kentuckiana. You will not regret spending your wedding morning at Haven and I highly recommend that you do! read more

Haven Spa & Salon is under new management as of about a year ago. The new owner has done such an amazing job with the business. I experienced a beautiful renovated with very happy employees. I also made small talk with some regulars and everyone had such great things to say about the recent renovations and upgrades in the spa. read more

I'm not connected in any way to this salon or its owners, other than the fact that I adore and love my hair stylist to pieces, and since she's been at Abeille, I've found the salon to be super. First, the stylist: Machilla Slaughter. She is amazing. She has kept my hair low maintenance and generally exactly what I've wanted for about 13 years now. (Wow...time flies.) She listens, understands what I'm asking for, and then can provide some great recommendations. I completely trust her with my hair. I now live in Los Angeles and I seriously wait to have my hair cut till I come back to Louisville for work or visits with the family. In LA I've had not-so-great haircuts for really expensive prices. At Abeille, I get fantastic haircuts, great service and a lovely, inviting, calming atmosphere. Perfect! So, thanks, Abeille and Machilla, for all my Good Hair Days! Keep up the good work. read more

Rude staff, Ridiculously slow, older looking polish with not many color option. Sat for a solid half hour in cold water waiting for my pedicure. It took another employee asking where the lady was who was supposed to be doing my service for them to do anything and I still had to call the front desk from INSIDE the salon to get the lady to finally come do my mani/ pedi. After all that she acted like she would barely have time and annoyed I wanted a gel pedicure instead of a regular one?? The manicure and pedicure were very expensive and within 2 days the polish was chipping basically a huge waste of $. Someone recommended this place because they thought they would be clean and following CDC guidelines for reopening. Sure the salon seemed clean but their manicures still suck. read more

Lisa Warren is amazing! My complicated & crazy curly hair has confounded me my entire life but, not anymore! Lisa's extensive knowledge on hair & eufora products has tamed the "nest" on top of my head. As she washed & cut my hair she explained how I should be treating my locks & gave me easy to follow instructions to take home with me, including a curly hair product kit (at a very reasonable price). I had my hair cut and colored with Sandra yesterday and I am so happy with my experience. She is a true professional and I enjoyed meeting her. She took her time in consulting with me. No strong scent of chemicals the next day, no stains on my skin, just shiny, rich color! The salon is beautiful, clean, and cozy. I love this salon! Brenda Roberts is an excellent stylist! I get a Keritin (sp?) treatment 2 times a year and she is a pro. My wife recently had her purse stolen which contained over $600 in Abeille gift cards I had purchased for her since last Christmas I contacted the salon and asked about the possibility of replacing the cards or a portion thereof and offered to provide proof of purchase (bank charges). The salon management offered NOTHING and acknowledged they keep no record of gift card purchases. Net result, they received $600 and will provide no services in return. This is extremely poor customer service and no way to run a business. read more
