Everywhere else was booked, my normal hairdresser is out of town and I was desperate. I managed to get an appointment here and it was not too bad. The receptionist and some hairdressers where preoccupied with their phone, as most people are now-a-days. They where fairly friendly. My hairdresser was late, but she was perky and fun. The haircut came out great, I'm very happy with it. She had time to do my eyebrows, and I'm happy with them too. My only complaint is this salon charges 60$ an HOUR for hair. I understand it's warranted for some hair treatments, but for a haircut. YIKES! read more

If you want to pay an hourly rate of $70.00 for a hair appt in which your hair stylist can take all of her time doing roots and a little trim then pay $149.00 go to this salon. I was quoted on the phone $65.00 for regrowth appt with a hair trim. No one ever mentioned an hourly rate of services. Another thing to beware of at this place is they go through many receptionist very quickly. I got the new rude and snippy receptionist. She sits there and stares at you. As soon as your hair stylist gets you the rude receptionist starts the clock so set your timer as well. I have been getting my hair done for decades in many states where I have lived and have never paid "by the hour" Sounds like another service and not hair. When I called to see how much a perm would cost. I was told $130 for short hair. It took her 2 hours, if even that, because she kept on leaving the station as I sat in the chair waiting for her to finish. As I went to pay; she told me it was $283.50. I was looking at her in disbelief and asked if it was the correct amount. I had hoped that she was going to say, "oh, I'm so sorry, I gave you the incorrect amount." But that was not the case. She re-calculated and said to me, "yes, that is correct!" I was in disbelief. I said to her, I will not give you a tip because the cost is just shocking. I had to get out of there immediately after because I was just so infuriated that I wanted to say things that were in my head, aloud. And it would not have been nice. I will never go back, one, because I cannot afford a $300 perm, two, they did not communicate the price before they started, three, she kept leaving the station to do other things which not only costed me time, but money! Amber give the best haircuts and is very pleasant, knowledgeable of current events in Juneau, and sociable while working.

I "thought" things went well at first. Sandra washed/cut my hair. She was pleasant, I really liked the haircut, I was out in 30 minutes, it was 84 + tip. I assumed this was a Juneau price. A different young woman checked me out...she mentioned she was having trouble finding me. I tried to be helpful and said my appointment had been at 3. She said, I know what time your appointment was. I have trouble finding most people on the computer. Honestly I was trying to be helpful to the girl. I think she just hates her job. As I was going towards the exit (no other customers were in there waiting. A mom had gone back with her young daughter, ) I distinctly heard the girl who checked me out say,"bitch." I decided to ask her if she had said something to me, knowing she had. She said no, uh uh. I hope they have a camera in there that picks up the sound. I will NEVER go there again and will tell anyone I know NOT to either as long as that girl works there. She is a nightmare. read more

Booked an appointment about a week in advance when I showed up was left waiting for over 20 minutes in the hall way of the mall... when I told the receptionist I dont want to rush the hair stylist and asked if there was a better time to come back when the stylist was done with appointments she said if I left the hair stylist would have to take her next appointment ....scheduled 20 minutes after mine . My wife went in for a simple relayer and trim, and wound up with a butchered hair cut that gave her a mullet and a shag. She tried several times to call and complain, never getting a call back from Sandy the owner who actually committed this atrocity on my wife's hair. She's never going back again! I am VERY particular about my hair! I live in Phoenix, AZ and have had the same hairdresser for 17 years. She consistently gives me a fabulous hair cut and actually styles my hair better than I do, BUT she can't do color. I don't know why, it's just not her thing. Over the years, I've given her another try, but still no go. Came to Juneau a few years back. A friend told me to go to Sandra, the owner of Salon 2211. I made my appt. and was careful not to have to high of expectations. OMG, I was speechless at the beautiful purple highlights Sandra put in my hair!! The shade of purple was absolutely perfect! Sandra's placement of the color in my hair was perfect! I was worried that when I washed my hair the color would all come out, nope, perfect! The color stayed very vibrant for about 4 or 5 weeks then gradually started to fade, as expected! I come back every year because I love Juneau and the people, but my first stop is always Sandra at Salon 2211!! read more

After reading good reviews about them on Google I decided I would go ahead and get a haircut while the wife was shopping. Ok so they aren't a Barber Shop, but I would think a fade is a simple hair cut. Apparently I was mistaken. Lines everywhere and they were uneven too. I went home and shaved my noggin. This was my first time and last. Maybe it was the one stylist Or maybe they don't do well with cutting men's hair but why risk it. read more

I have been visiting this salon for years and I have to say Christina is amazing. I am very particular about my highlights and she has never failed me yet. I had my hair absolutely butchered at another salon and she was able to not only save my haircut but made it turn out amazing! read more

After reading all the negative reviews, I was nervous going in. My doubts quickly faded when I went in, the place was great! I was greeted with a smile and was called by my name, I was impressed. For a regular haircut the price is not bad (27.50) My stylist was friendly, and made me feel comfortable. I plan on going back, it's the best place in town. Meh is a great way to describe this place. I made an appointment for a manicure and pedicure. When I arrived, I noticed they didn't have any pedicure chairs, which the girl told me was because the owner thinks they're unsanitary. I'm calling bs on that, because they didn't even have a dedicated area for pedicures. I ended up sitting under the speaker (music was very loud for a salon) in an office chair and had my feet in a bucket. It was very uncomfortable. The pedicure and manicure were nothing to write home about. I don't think the girl was properly trained. She cut my nails weird and I had to fix them when I got home, there was no massage for either service, and I had to wash my own hands in a sink in the "back" - she gave me some exfoliator to rub in. The polish was chipped and coming off within a day. She didn't pumice my feet. Overall, just not a good experience. The only reason I even gave two stars is because I didn't end up with an infection or anything. I definitely won't go back. For $70 ($30 for the mani and $40 for the pedi) I expect A LOT more. read more

Not very happy. Went in asking for my kid to have a bob. The stylist evidently didn't understand what a bob is because instead of cutting just the back to match the length of the front, she cut it all way too short. I made the mistake of going grocery shopping while it was being done so failed to police the cutting. Tearful kid. read more

My son called ahead to get the cost of getting his hair relaxed and styled. They gave him an estimate of $150. He then went in and charged him for two hairstylists, not one. Total was $230!!!! WOW!!!! And when my wife asked, the stylist was unapologetic. Don't learn that lesson for yourself, we learned it for you! Never again... read more

I share a similar experience though with a pedicure. $47 and I had to come home and add more polish. It was poorly done, in a bucket with a rolling chair. Every time I put my foot up the chair would roll back. Not at all impressed! Should have tried the $25 place across the mall. At least they appeared professionally set up. The fancy hair salon look of this place was misleading. read more
