I booked an eyebrow wax and found out the morning of my appointment that you can't get wax done while using retinol. I told the owner I would like to stop using retinol and reschedule the appointment. I explained I had gone to her many times in the past and had never missed an appointment. She charged me 30$ for wanting to reschedule, even though the only thing she could offer to do for me was "tweeze" my eyebrows, and wouldn't even be able to do the service I booked if I did show up. It's upsetting that she cares more to make quick 30$ than continuing relationships with people in town. I feel completely scammed. read more

I really tried to like this place after I found out my coworker's beautiful lashes are done here. I went three times to really give it a chance and it was more ridiculous each time. At first meeting, the owner accosted me with a digital thermometer before I even stepped in. I shrugged it off (because people have gotten crazy since COVID and it's Juneau, so not many choices). I went in to get a full set of lash extensions, brow wax, and brow tint. I requested Refectocil for the brows (through her reservation system on her website) and when I confirmed the service in person she made a face and pushed me to henna instead. I debated with her a bit, concerned that they would look fake, flat, and drawn on and my skin might not take it well, but she told me she's a pro and I should trust her. She spent probably 45-60 minutes mapping my brows and then when she was done with the henna she tried to explain why they came out patchy and the wrong color, saying something like, "well, we never really know how well your skin will take the henna." They looked exactly as I knew they would: SO awful. And she still charged me full price and didn't offer a touch up after my skin adjusted. I'm grateful now that they didn't take so the henna faded quickly and I could go back to doing my normal thing on my own. I did insist on the Refectocil the next time, which looked great and was way cheaper. I'm just glad now I didn't let her microblade me. The lash sets were CRAZY. The woman takes HOURS to even do a fill and they look terrible. My eyes looked weighted down and so fake and I hated the tangled look. When I went back for 2 fills, explaining how I would like them to be different, it was even worse. I was incredibly still and she was struggling and complaining my eyes move too much when I literally fell asleep. She became increasingly rude and abrupt with each visit. I did everything she said for aftercare and used the products she sold me, but within 2 days of each visit they were falling out and looking horrible. I even watched Youtube videos from other professionals using the same brand to see if I misunderstood her instructions or if there was something else I should do differently. I didn't misunderstand and there was nothing else. Either they're all liars gatekeeping the true secrets, or this lady botched me. Then the glue she used made my natural lashes fall out (!!) and she complained about that too. Lady, I want lashes, that's why I came to you. You think I'm happy you made my eyes practically bald? Each visit was over $400. How can people afford $400 and 4+ hours every 2 weeks?! It took months for my natural lashes to grow back in after I gave up on this place. Once they grew back, I went back to just tinting and lifting my natural lashes instead of doing these awful extensions and they look so much better. One last thing, she posted my photos on her social media without my consent. I told her I didn't mind an extreme close up on the brows or lashes so you could show the work but couldn't identify me. She posted a far away, full face shot and named me anyway. Not OK. read more

This business did a bait & switch on me and my final bill was close to $300. I only went in to get a $100 fill and my final bill was almost triple that. They are really sneaky and do services without telling you how much they cost and then you see your bill at the end that is a "shocker". They should be doing consultations and letting you know how much your treatment is. read more

Most aweful experience I've ever had hands down. The older woman Janell who is also the owner did my eyebrows first and even though I gave her precise instructions on what to wax on my eyebrows she still took off too much even shortened them too much on the sides where I didnt want any taken off. She then preceeded to next do my lashes where she kept being very rude that I kept blinking and that she requires no coffee before the appt but she was the one to call me in knowing full well I had coffee already. She then made me in the middle of my appt get up to move my truck even though I couldnt see and still had the patches under my eyes. She said "Before you get too comfortable I need you to move your car". If that wasn't enough she didnt even finish the full lashes because she said I blink too much. read more

I had my first micro blading experience at lash & wax, and I love the results! It should be said that all skin takes to micro blading differently just like it does with tattooing. So results may vary. My skin is not terribly dry nor oily. But my results were great!! She added strokes to my sparse and patchy brows that look so real!! Never imagined I'd get my pre horrible teenage plucking job brows back. It really helps even out my face and takes off years!! The owner is helpful and informative. And clearly knew what she was doing. I would highly recommend her! I'm getting my mom new brows for her birthday! So excited for that! And I'm having her do lips ASAP!! Literally the worst experience ever. My bridesmaids surprised me for my wedding and paid for me to get eye lash extensions. I went in and the older lady (who is the owner) rushed my appointment, was not nice (told me I had bad natural lashes and should at least get a lash lift in the future), and made payment a nightmare when my bridesmaids had already arranged payment. I left the appointment crying which is not what you should do with fresh lash extensions. I will never go back, and highly recommend the Nail Bar for any lash needs. I did not need the stress I felt at Lash and Wax right before my wedding. Horrible service and I liked the lashes I got at the Nail Bar better. 0/10. read more

I called Janell at Lash & Wax this morning interested in booking a day of Brazilian wax appointment, and unfortunately she did not have any availability. Later in the morning she called me back saying she finished up early with a client and if I was still interested, she could fit me in right then. I drove right over and I had a wonderful experience! Anyone who has had a Brazilian wax knows they are far from comfortable, but Janell made the entire experience as comfortable as possible. She is very kind, professional, and accommodating! Her shop is very clean, she uses great products, and the prices are fair. This was my first time at Lash & Wax and I will definitely be back in the future for all of my eyelash and waxing needs! This place lacks ethics, they don't tell you that they are increasing the price while you're laying in their chair. Then at the end you find out you are being charged 3x the amount you went in for. They removed my lashes instead of doing a fill (lash extensions) and then charged me almost $300. The harshness of whatever they did ended up in my real eyelashes breaking off. Ripped off skin on my eyebrows. The older lady did my eyebrows and did an awful job I told her I have sensitive skin,and obviously didn't listen. I have scabs on both eyebrows. Don't recommend going there. read more

My first time here and it was absolutely wonderful! I was very nervous coming here for the first time (as I always am going somewhere new). I got my eyebrows waxed and tinted, and my lashes tinted and they turned out spectacular. I will definitely be coming back here for future needs! read more
