The service I receive from my sweet hairdresser Sheena at Salon 3 has been nothing but phenomenal. I have been a regular client of Sheena's since 2019. I came to Sheena with damaged hair and she has restored my hair back to health over the years. I have not experienced any breakage ever since I have been with her. Her haircare expertise is one of a kind she gives you her complete honesty regarding your hair and what she can do to help. The hair products she uses are top line. The service is phenomenal. Sheena styles hair like no other hair stylist I have had. No matter if it's short, long, finger waves, weave, etc. She makes sure she asks numerous questions about your hair and what has already been done to it. She will not perform ANY color or chemical if she feels it will hurt your hair in any way. Some stylists will perform any treatment despite the damage it could bring to you and your hair. You will always leave with a smile on your face and a new confidence in your step. read more

Had a terrible experience at this salon on my first time visit just a few weeks ago - was told to hang up my coat in a dark area fell down some stairs and injured my back had to go the emergency room received a tetanus shot because I had a bad scrape on my arm. I was never told by the owner that there was stairs & to watch my step the area was very dark and I did not see the steps thought I was walking on the straight floor until I went flying backwards. Very dangerous there should be a light in the area because this could happen to someone else. I am so blessed that I did not break any bones but I did injured my back and I am still in pain. read more

Horrible salon. Please do not go there. I went for makeup service and they had me waiting 45 min and stylist did not inform me as to why she was running late. Lady at the front desk is very disrespectful and doesn't know how to talk to people. She went out of her way to taunt my sister because she asked to use their restroom. I understand they are safety protocol but you don't have to get loud and disrespectful about it. Please take your money elsewhere. They don't derange any business. read more

I looooooove this salon!!! It is such a fun and warm environment. Raquelle has been doing my sisters and my mother's hair for the past 3 or 4 years now and they always come out looking amazing! The atmosphere is nice and relaxing and the hairdressers are funny as well. If your comfortable with reggae music on blast and constant patois from everyone then you will be fine lol (I feel right at home being jamaican myself) I got a wash and set and by the time Raquelle was done with my hair it felt and looked like I had a touch-up or something. I have never had a bad experience when I went there at all. The wait can be a bit much sometimes especially when it's busy on the weekends. Went to be seen for a touch up and cut. Then says not taking new clients. Unprofessional. Due to covid 19. But a friend calls and was able to get an appointment. If you are not taking new clients don't say that after you took the client for the first time and then after say no more new clients. UNPROFESSIONAL and it makes you look bad read more

Salon 3 on Talbot Ave in Dorchester, is by far the best salon I have been to in Boston. I have been going there for over 8 years now and every visit has been a pleasant one. This salon caters to all hair types and whether you need a simple wash and set, trendy color, chic cut, glamorous updo, or a perfect weave this place will hook you up every time. I know as I have had all those styles done at one point in my many visits. As most females, my hair is very important to me so I always seek out the best and was happy to be recommended to Sheena at Salon 3. Sheena is my personal stylist and she has always treated me like a star client. Sheena is the reason my hair is always healthy, bouncy, and growing. She has styled me for many big occasions, international trips, weddings, and work holiday parties. Even when I got overly stressed and suffered from a random case of alopecia, she nursed my bald spot right back to life and it is fully grown in and you would never even know it was there now. I am constantly told how great and healthy my hair looks, and am always happy to recommend Salon 3 when asked where I get my hair done. I see Sheena mostly, but every stylist in the salon does a great job, you can never go wrong. The Salon itself is also very nice to be in, very clean, professional, and fabulously decorated inside with a happy and warm atmosphere. The salon is very popular so there can be a wait at times depending on the day you go, but the results are well worth the wait. Overall, Salon 3 has it all, professional and friendly stylists, lovely shop, and fair prices. I intend to go here for as long as I am able! read more

I love this salon. The location is great and the decor is beautiful with a nice ambience (the gospel music in the background was a plus). Today was my first time there and Elena did an amazing job. I have natural hair and she gave me a blow out with amazing body. I can't remember the last time I had my hair flowing in the wind- it definetly didn't happen when I had a relaxer. I went to college in the Boston area and was returning for a wedding of a college friend. I wanted to get my hair done the morning of the event so I called and made an appointment. When I arrived I wrote my name in the guestbook and sat down. I watched as the stylist I was booked with flat ironed a woman's hair for almost an hour. Then she popped around the corner and apologized and said she would be right with me... And 2 other women sitting there. Needless to say, after sitting for 90 minutes without even a wash, I left. Ended up doing my own hair for the wedding. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Steer clear. read more

My sister came in today to have make up service by Monique . This was her first appointment. I have never in my life received such disrespectful treatment. I asked the woman if I could use her rest room because I was my sister ride and then would be on my way. The woman said no! You can't come in! Get out! And kept mumbling stuff under her breathe. I was never disrespectful to her. I left it at that and left the service. My sister was inside her appointment was at 1230pm and we came on time! Monique didn't get to her till 1:15pm no apologies no updates nothing! acted like she was invisible and not a paying client. We came All the way from Cambridge. I had a family member recommended this place. Monique didn't give her no updates my sister has a photo shoot today to celebrate her graduation and she was told you can cancel if you want! My sister was polite her blood pressure was going up and she was taunted told she needs to relax and that she was talking bad about the salon. When I came back at the salon the woman taunted me and said you can give the cash but you can't stay! This woman at the desk is so disrespectful and kept mumbling under breath. We are paying customers offering you a service do not treat us like animals. This was supposed to be a relaxing visit to celebrate. Stay away from this salon their do not value clients. I could have been a potential client but I will never come to this salon stay away! There are rude and disrespectful! My sister day could have been ruined! I have been a client of Michelle's at Salon 3 for well over a decade. I have always received nothing but exceptional service. Michelle is professional, courteous, accommodating and is very focused on client service. The salon is clean, inviting and encourages a relaxing atmosphere. Michelle is nothing short of perfection at her craft. She is patient and understands what hair care really means. Worst salon ever. They have you sitting there for 2 hours and very unprofessional. Sheena is nice but the other are ignorant and uneducated. It's makes no that you have to wait that one. One of the stylists gave me the hardest time over something I was paying for. I was being nothing but respectful , but she wouldn't do my hair. They're disrespectful and ghetto.
