I just got my hair cut and colored by Angelo. I cannot praise him more. After 10+ years of dying it out of the box. Angelo was able to lighten my hair via balayage highlights. My hair looks amazing and Angelo was super nice! The salon was beautiful and clean as well. read more

I am very hesitant to get my hair cut. I had a bad experience previously at another salon and have been looking for a new one for a while. I FOUND IT!!!!! Marissa was awesome. She really listened and understood what I wanted. The girl that washed my hair, I think her name was Ashley, was wonderful too. I've never gone to a salon where they take your coat as soon as you walk in, offer coffee, tea and water while you're waiting. Then you get a great scalp massage when they wash your hair. It was wonderful. Also, as I was leaving, a little girl, maybe 3 yrs old was getting her hair cut. Usually you'll hear kids screaming during this and it will be a battle. Although I don't know the name of the person that cut her hair, she was great. She was sitting with the girl's mom and making the hair cut really enjoyable for the little girl. My GO-TO PLACE for many many years!! On each visit I enjoy the experience and I trust my stylist Tracy who is friendly, skilled and attentive - she repeatedly makes me happy with with color, Goldwell's Colorance, sometimes extensions, cut and blow out and also by suggesting top rated products for my hair (many different products are sold there)! But all of the staff at Salon 36 are truly wonderful! The shop is stylish and the vibe here is friendly, inviting and comfortable! Scheduling is easy and the pricing is fair. Salon 36 is the best! I have been going there for over ten years and every time I go, I come out smiling! Not only do you get great color and cut, but the owners and staff are wonderful!! I never liked when I "had" to go for my hair- at Salon 36 it's a pleasure, not a chore!! Five stars from me!! read more

Not only did the receptionist give me a ziplock bag, but she did it without making me feel like it was a weird request, and she even seemed happy to do so. Beware: My daughter went to Razing Hair to get her hair lightened, she brought in a picture of very…read morelight hair so they could see what she wanted. She unfortunately ended up with mousy brown, grey, mud colored hair. She also came home and all the dark dye was left all around her face and through her roots. She had to plead to have them try and fix it. When she went back they (mainly the owner Chris) were rude and short tempered with her. They even said if you just keep washing it, it will lighten up, which means they only used semi-permanent color. They did blow it out and she was hoping she could live with it, but the next day she was crying that they ruined her hair. I then tried calling the owner to discuss having my daughter get her money back, since she was charged $245 for them to destroy her hair. Chris not only was rude and sassy, to say the least, he hung up on me twice and when he finally calmed down and would talk and not scream at me, he said he is sure the only reason my daughter hated her hair was because I told her she looked terrible and then of course he hung up. Even though I was completely disgusted by his comments, I called Razing Hair back to try one more time to rationalize with Chris, but he wouldn't get on the phone, however, when he finally called me back he said he searched and found a picture of my daughter on social media that looked like she loved her hair after it was fixed and he also went on to say that if I continued to call him about this issue he would call my place of work and get me fired for harassment. After all this, the terrible job they did on my daughter's hair and the way we were both spoken to, Chris, the owner actually dared to threaten my livelihood just so he didn't have to do the right thing as a business owner and reimburse an 18 year old, so she could go somewhere else to get her hair fixed. He even continued to say that the last person who tried this he (Chris) actually made sure they got fired from their job. I am flabbergasted that he even has clients. If you want light blond hair, without muddy ash, then Razing Hair is not the place for you. There are numerous talented hairdressers in the towns around where they are located and I suggest you try those, so you can avoid such a horrible experience with a person like Chris, and you will also avoid having him threaten getting you fired from your job just because you are not satisfied with the job they do on your hair. The most ironic part is his website states that they have a 100% satisfaction guaranteed!! Guess that is a lie!!

I found this behavior extremely rude, inappropriate, and insulting. I always tip generously in cash once everyone's service is done, but being hounded for money on the spot was unacceptable. When I spoke to the manager, I was told that "they work for tips," as if that somehow excuses such behavior. It doesn't. After spending hundreds of dollars, the last thing I expected was to be pressured and embarrassed in front of my family and other patrons. The lack of professionalism and respect was truly disappointing. I will not be returning, and I strongly urge management to train their staff on proper customer service and etiquette.

Karen's response: "I can't do it!!! I won't do it!" She became upset and annoyed at me. She didn't offer a solution or another design option she felt she could do on my nail. The rest of the appointment was completely rushed and felt awkward and uncomfortable she wouldn't talk to me or look at me. She didn't even finish my nail treatment and gave me to someone else to do my hand lotion/ massage and hot towel. The salon charged me $10 for a design I did NOT want. I went to leave a tip for Karen on her work station and let her know where I was leaving it and her response was "mhm" and wouldn't look at me. I was completely disrespected and had a TERRIBLE experience. I could have left her no tip and chose to do the right thing! I called the salon to speak with the owner. A man named Steve picked up the phone. He said he is the person you'd speak to for complaints. I told him my experience and how uncomfortable and disrespected I felt. I asked for him to void my credit card payment and he refused. His response was "Karen tries the best she can. If she can't do it she can't do it." I replied: "okay so if a client is disrespected and felt uncomfortable by a nail tech and didn't get what they asked for, they should pay for the service?". Steve was quiet. I told Steve I don't live in NY and don't plan to come back and would like my money back. He refused to give it to me. I don't even think Steve is the owner or manager. I do not recommend going to the salon. The owner isn't willing to do what's right or fair for the customers.
