I've had several cuts here and all have been awesome, but my most recent is why I'm writing this review. I wanted to get a very short cut and had tons of photos to show, but no specific idea on the exact cut. The woman who cut my hair carefully translated my ideas into the BEST haircut I've ever had. A+ for the low-stress environment -- and dark lighting in the hair washing room. It's more like therapy than it is a haircut, and each and every person working here is kind and polite. I've been going to Salon 6 for the past year since moving to the Broad Ripple area. The salon is always very clean, and they have a comfortable waiting area with refreshments and reading material if you arrive early for your appointment. The front desk staff members are always friendly when checking in and out for an appointment. Rebecca T. does a great job cutting my hair. I've never left unhappy with a cut I've gotten here! I also appreciate that she is helpful and willing to make recommendations on hair products, but isn't pushy about selling them to you. Salon 6 is an absolute gem! Anyone who's serious about their hair knows that you can't just belly-up anywhere and get what you're looking for. Hair salons and stylists are about as personal as choosing underwear...if not more! After making a few "wrong-turns" after moving to town, I came across Salon 6 and my stylist...Paul. When you first walk in the door, you meet a smiling face. The front desk staff are always super friendly and ever-so-helpful. If you happen to arrive early (or your stylist is running behind...which neeeeeever happens, right?!) you're escorted to the waiting area which is filled with magazines and drinks. The Keurig coffee machine is a great addition! The decor is relaxing and so are the couches! The salon is tastefully decorated throughout and the sink area is lighted perfectly which adds to a very relaxing experience. There are a variety of personalities amongst the stylists so you're sure to find one that suits your personal style. Last but certainly not least are the products. I believe this is a Eufora salon...they certainly carry enough products to be one if they're not! The products are readily available for purchase and they're carefully explained before they're used during your appointment. The best part is that not once have I ever felt like I had product jammed down my throat. All in all, Salon 6 has been my best hair-cutting experience since I've moved to town. Paul didn't fight my wavy hair by straight-ironing it, and gave me a cut that accentuates its natural inclinations. I've been disappointed with stylists who cut my hair too conservatively and have few ideas or suggestions, but Paul seems creative and inspired. As a guy, I had never been to a salon and was a bit uncomfortable with the idea..but I was equally sick of below-average haircuts from the local chain. I called Salon 6 (after reading Yelp reviews) and they recommended I make an appointment with Jason. I am really glad I did. They send out a text a few days before your appt, which serves as a helpful reminder. The place is easy to find and there is plenty of parking. I was offered a soft drink when I walked in and Jason was there and ready to go right away. Jason was attentive in listening to what I wanted and then offered some recommendations (which I was to happy accept). I will never step foot in another chain haircut place again. I've been going to Salon 6 for about a year now and have been so happy with my hair! I see Shelby and she does a fantastic job of cutting and styling my hair and always has great suggestions as well. I'm normally not one to spend money on hair products, but she suggested a couple that were well worth the money. I have bangs so that requires me to visit a bit more frequently, but their free bang trims require no appointment so it is super convenient to just drop in when they're getting a little too long! This salon is really nice! My husband and I have both had our hair cut here. He went first by himself. He came back home looking decent so I cant complain with that. I went at a later date. It was not very busy. My haircut cost 45. I usually go cheap and go to the hair school but I didn't feel like making this a whole day thing. My stylist was very friendly and offered suggestions on how I should cut my hair. That was super helpful since my hair was kind of a mess. I don't normally trust hair people since I have had my hair messed up a few times but I trusted her. The sink where they wash your hair didn't kill my neck so that was a plus. I was looking for a salon close to home and after reading some reviews, decided to give Salon 6 a try. I called on a Tuesday and was able to book an appointment for that Saturday. I went in Saturday afternoon and it was very quiet - I then learned most of the staff were out of town for training. The salon is very nice and clean - a small Broadripple house that's been converted to a salon. Megan was my stylist and she listened to what I wanted and looked at the pictures I brought with me. She cut my hair exactly like the pictures and did a great job on my color (a vibrant reddish brown). The price was very reasonable (~$100) and about 1/2 of what I was paying at my previous salon. Nice place but the last two times I got my haircut there they COMPLETELY chopped my hair. I showed them a picture of a long bob and they practically gave me the haircut of a page boy. I said, "make sure it goes into a low ponytail" and both times, the hairdressers cut it way to short for me to put it back. Very disappointed and will not be coming back again. read more

My complaints are that she wasn't very talkative - I don't require a therapy session but I do enjoy a little chat - and that I specifically said that I do not like curl enhancing products that make my hair 'crunchy.' My first yelp review! Here goes... I tried Salon 6 for the first time today. Yesterday, I had a moment of "OMG I need my haircut immediately," called the salon and I was able to get an appointment this afternoon. When I arrived, I was promptly greated and offered a beverage. Didn't wait too long before Kendal came to get me. She did a thorough consultation with me and we talked about length and product and then headed back to the sink for an exceptionally good wash and head massage. She used a damage control shampoo and then a thickening wash. The cut was great and exactly like we had talked about. She did a great blow out and style on my hair too (which I've found lacking in other nearby salons)! I was so pleased that I scheduled a followup for color in a couple weeks. I also bought the product she used on my hair (they use eufora products). Overall, great experience!
