I've been told about Sherilynn Jade Salon and was in need of a new hair dresser so I decided to give it a try. The salon is very cute and intimate and the staff are all very friendly! I made an appointment with Sherilynn and wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my hair so I told her to do what ever she wanted. She ran some ideas past me and we decided on a cute, short style. Let me just tell you....I have NEVER had random men compliment me on my HAIRCUT before this one. That's right, not man...MEN, lots of them! Specifically, they say they like my haircut. Shannda at Sherilynn Jade Salon is hands-down the best person I have ever gone to for a cut and color! I found this salon on groupon and I can't say enough great things about the salon and Shannda in particular. She was so great and really listened to what I said I wanted to do and what I wanted to avoid doing with my hair. I showed her some picks of models with ombre and balayage highlights and she did a combination of the the two techniques, which created the exact look and feel that I wanted!! She is extremely knowledgable, very sweet, and just a really fun person to talk to during the whole process. She took the time to show me how to style my hair with a roll brush and a dryer, and she talked to me about my concerns with my own hair (mine is dry, curly, and quite damaged from using store-bought hair dye to cover my grays myself). I've heard the salon can get very busy and quite crazy, but I went in on a Tuesday morning and it was super mellow which was great because she took the time to really teach me how to make my hair more manageable to style on my own. I recently had a lady at starbucks ask if she could take a picture of my hair color because she loved it so much. My stylists name is Erin and she did exactly what I asked for. I was extremely happy with the outcome. I have really long hair and she knew exactly what to do! They offered water to drink and made me feel very relaxed and comfortable. Great conversation. Everyone seemed to get along really well and even the stylists that were working around the area, Stacey and Lila, made conversation, were upbeat and super friendly. I've been seeing Tera for a few years now. I used to go see her at the Milan beauty school and she has ALWAYS done an amazing job with my hair. I have long, THICK curly hair and she does a great job walking me through what she is doing and giving her honest opinion if what I want done will look good or not. She's taken me from brunette, to blonde highlights to now red! I highly recommend her as a stylist. I gave them a 5 star EVEN THOUGH the receptionist wasn't very friendly or helpful. Love love love the salon. All the girls are great. Tera K has been my stylist since she started there. She's a genius with color and keeps my hair the healthiest it's been. You can just show her a pic of the color you want and she whips it up. I travel a lot for work and refuse to let anyone else cut or color my hair while away from home, she's that good. I've had my sisters and several friends go to her and they all love her work. The salon has a great selection of product too, and always have something on sale or a promotion going on. I came in to see Trinity to have my blonde hair dyed purple hombre at the ends. I have never dyed my hair before so I was nervous for a big change but also eager for it. Trinity set me at ease and talked me through the process letting me know step by step what we were going to do. I was even offered a glass of wine. What a way to relax. By the end I was left with a result better than i had anticipated and am over the moon with my new look. I recommend Trinity to anyone who needs a new look and a reassuring stylist. I highly recommend Stacy at Sherilynn Jade Salon in Lafayette. Stacy has cut and colored my hair for more than 3 years and I couldn't be happier with the results. When I first saw Stacy, my otherwise thick, healthy hair was in terrible shape due another stylist's brutal "thinning" style. Stacy saw the problem and corrected it within a few months! She has cared for my hair when it was straight and long, as well as short and fun. And her coloring skills are superb - my highlights always look natural and well blended. I met Jacquelyn at Sherilynn Jade Salon over a year and a half ago and I've stuck with her ever since! Jacquelyn does an AMAZING job with color and cuts; every time I go I'm happy with the result and that is a miracle in itself! the best part about her service is that she wants your opinion and cares about how you want things done. On the other hand, if you want her to take the reigns, she's happy to do that too! Jacquelyn's talent doesn't just stop at hair cuts and color. She is also an incredible make up artist!! She was the make up artist for my wedding (for me, my bridesmaid, and the mother of the bride!) and everyone looked amazing. My friends still talk about what a great job she did and how great they felt. This is my second review for the Sherilynn Jade Salon, and is specifically for stylist Shara D. Although I should mention that her entire staff is amazing and I always feel very taken care of whenever I am there: ) I will try to keep this brief, but I want to make sure I convey entirely my feelings for how wonderful Shara is! First off, I am almost 50 years old, and for the first time in my life I am happy (thrilled actually) with my hair! And it's all because of her: ) I have natural dark brown hair, but for the past 30 years have dyed it blonde. The 3 decades of bleaching, blowdrying and flat ironing my hair had left it in pretty bad shape. Not to mention how your hair starts to thin as you age, well...my hair was a mess! It's a long story about how I ended up with Shara at Sherilynn Jade, but I can honestly say that coming here and having Shara work with my hair is one of the best decisions I have ever made! AND....after having blonde hair for over 30 years, I can happily say that my hair is now an absolutely beautiful shade of brown and looks healthier than ever! Shara made the whole process of going from blonde to brown so comforting for me. Rather than make the whole transition in a single appt, we actually took about 5 months. She gradually started adding more lowlights rather than highlights, and I immediately started seeing happier hair! Happier hair means happier me and I have NEVER been happy with my hair! haha Today was a big step...Shara did all over color...no foils at all! I've had several hair dressers who have done good jobs cutting and coloring my hair in the past. But to call Vanessa Van Krieken a "good" hair dresser would be the worlds biggest understatement. I knew when I saw a few pictures of Vanessa's previous client's hair that she would be able to make mine look good too, but this good was beyond anything I could have ever hoped for. I've never been so happy, felt so pretty, or gotten more compliments since she did my hair. My boyfriend, who didn't want me to change my hair color at all, loves it even more than I do. And that's saying something. I will never let anyone besides Vanessa do my hair again. She is amazingly talented and I am so happy that I found her! The reason im giving 5 stars is because of the service Tara provided. I had triple-bleached my red hair to an orange, it was fryed and all different colors, but she turned it into the exact color I described for a very reasonable price. Very disappointed. Daughter bought me a Groupon for my 60th birthday. Stylist suggested an up charge of $40 to do a mini color for roots and sides and then highlight included in the Groupon with cut and style. I agreed, I wanted a change. After cut and style I thought very minimal highlights were applied did not really see them. I did not wash my hair for 3 days as suggested by friend and today when I first washed and styled my hair the highlights were again very minimal. Really could not see a difference. I am very sad that my $67 Groupon, $40 mini color and $22 tip was not worth it and we all know we work hard for our money. read more

I really want to give a good review but I am having a difficult time because I really don't care for how my hair turned out. When I walked in I had blonde hair all over when I walked out I had a dark dish water color which wouldn't have been so bad but I had brought a picture of what I wanted and it wasn't that. Oh I definitely wanted a copper color weaved through my hair but I still wanted some of my blonde weaved in with it.. I thought once I got home and saw it in a different light it might look better but that didn't happen. It looks like my natural color which I have spent 20 years coloring my hair to get away from that. I used a Groupon so the service was already paid for and I felt I couldn't say anything. I have to say that I received superb service despite using Groupon and the salon is fairly standard priced for the industry without discounts. Lauren P did an amazing job on my hair. She is relatively new to the industry, but well trained...she can definitely hang with best of them. I have had my hair done at many salons over the years and she did better highlighting than several of the stylists I have seen and the style looked great. "I know you can be overwhelmed, and you can be underwhelmed, but can you ever just be whelmed?" That's really how I felt leaving Sherilynn Jade and the last couple of days, just...whelmed. It's not a bad haircut per se, but it's not a good one either. I am a pretty easy client, who doesn't ask for a fancy haircut, just trim off the unhealthy ends and don't give me any crazy layers or a "mom" cut. I left the salon with a head of healthy hair, but upon styling it myself I noticed that there was some weird layering going on in the front. It looks as though I gave a kindergartener a pair of scissors and had the child style the front of my hair. The layers are blunt and it seems like no care went into them in all. If I get layers I want them subtle, not choppy. On top of the mediocre to bad hair cut the salon was like a friggin' sauna. Um, it's 90+ degrees outside, I don't want to be blow dried in a salon the apparently doesn't have AC. Oh, and if your salon is one million degrees, at least offer a paying customer some water.To be fair, the hair dresser was nice and gave me a great shampoo. She (I don't want to name names and throw her under the yelp bus...) also recommended some products with which I am pleased. I was so hopeful that I would find a salon closer to my house, but unfortunately this will not be the one. read more

Worse experience ever! I'm a natural blonde and I bleached my hair 6 month ago. I went to the salon to go back to my natural blonde. I ended up with muddy brown hair and the tips of my hair had green tones!!!!! Awful! Never never go there! I can't believe they made me pay for that after I told them that the color was horrible and nothing like my natural color (the hair dresser told me my hair would be a bit darker - but this was very very more darker with no light - just like mud). And they didn't say anything about green tones before - because of course, they screwed up my hair! read more

I walked in with my hair over dyed and two tones, and not the right kind: Orange at the roots and black at the tips (thank you grocery store dye). Shannda listened and took her time correcting the color and putting fun highlights and blended a red that looks awesome. Shannda not only fixed my hair, but it wasn't over bleached or processed.
