Brittany is my new stylist, and she is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!! Brittany did my color and cut, and I can honestly say that this is the BEST cut and color I have EVER had!!! I hadn't cut my hair in 3 years!! It's really hard for me to find someone who knows how to cut/style my hair well & that I feel like I vibe with. The whole experience was great! Gabby is fabulous!! As a curly girl, I have a hard time finding stylists that both work with curly hair and don't charge an arm and a leg. Gabby is super friendly, easy to talk to, and made me feel comfortable. She knew exactly what I was asking for and completely delivered! I couldn't be happier with how my hair turned out. A lot of stylists don't typically take the amount of time Gabby did to make sure my curls were styled properly before leaving the salon. UPDATE: The owner's reply is insane and I'm happy to provide you screenshots of precisely when I called your salon to express my confusion over your salon being closed. I was there how else would I know what everything looked like and that it was closed. Your accusations are false and truly outside the realm of normal behavior. If you send me another cold threat as you did last night as stated below I'm contacting authorities. I am a professional with a busy life I don't have time to make up extravagant lies to get out of a hair appointment for god sakes. You appear to possibly have some issues that take you out of your right mind / professionalism based on your reply and other reviews that speak to you and your staff's difficult personalities. I just had the worst most unprofessional experience at this salon. I had an appointment scheduled for today (11/24) at 10:30. I showed up at 10:20 and waited outside on the bench as the salon was closed (no one told me it was only open by appointment on Mondays). I waited until 10:30 on the bench outside after trying to open the door but the salon was dark and locked. I pulled up the salon's website on Google only to discover it was closed on Mondays. I called the salon and left a voicemail about what I assumed was an online booking error, since their Google profile in fact states they are closed on Mondays and the salon was closed and locked, and then I left after 10:30. I later got a text from Brittany the stylist asking where I was. Very confused, I explained to her what happened. She gave me an attitude and told me I needed to come back for the appointment, that she was late due to an accident on the freeway so that's why no one was here to open the salon/let me in for my appointment, and due to their cancellation policy, I had to come back down to the salon for my appointment. I told her that Google stated they were closed on Monday, the salon was dark and locked, and no one answered or called me back after I left appointment, so again, I assumed it was an online booking error and I left. She got very argumentative with me (instead of apologizing and clarifying), insisted she was stuck in traffic and that's why she wasn't here to let me in, and insisted again that I needed to come back for her or I would be charged due to their cancellation policy. She also kept arguing with me that "no I was here," at 10:30, before later changing her story and telling me she was stuck in traffic. She was not here. I sat on the bench outside, everything was dark, the door was locked, and again, no one answered the phone or called me back after leaving a voice message. I told her I wasn't engaging in such an unprofessional conversation and she raised her voice and told me I was being unprofessional, at which point I disconnected the call. I am shocked at the way I was left hanging in front of a closed salon for my scheduled appointment, then contacted LATER and told I NEEDED TO COME BACK or face cancellation fees when it was the salon and Brittany's fault that no one was there for my scheduled appointment and no one answered when I left a voicemail, leaving me to assume there was an online booking error and the salon was actually closed. How was I supposed to know/assume any of that?? I am even more shocked by Brittany's horribly rude and unprofessional argumentative demands that I better turn around and come back LATE for my appointment or I would be charged, when the entire reason I left was because SHE was late, the salon was CLOSED, no one answered the phone or returned my voicemail, and no one communicated to me that they were in fact open today but my stylist was late and on her way. I worked in the salon industry as an esthetician and makeup artist for years and never have I encountered such an unprofessional interaction. Never. Since my first visit I have been back each month for the past 5 months. And each visit feels as exciting as my first visit. The salon has great energy and is chill at the same time. The staff are very friendly as well. Heather is a great stylist who is passionate about her craft. She is always upbeat, funny and does a great job cutting and styling my hair. Rare Bryd is a bright and inviting salon located on the corner plaza of S Main St. and Newell Ave. The space is open and artistic. I especially love the live edge wood shelves that make up each hair station, as well as all the unique merchandise offered. I see Andrea here for my hair cuts and colors. She helped me bring my curl back as well as fixing the mess that the last salon did to my hair. She's a lifesaver and I'm so thankful I found her. I found this salon from a friend who sent me their IG because I wanted to focus on a curly haircut. It was easy booking an appointment online with a stylist. They just moved into a new spot which parking can be kind of tricky so don't go too fast or you'll miss the turn. I was greeted and offered water before we started. I had Gabrielle and I opted for a consultation first to go over how my hair is and what I expected. I only wanted a trim and had never had a specific curly cut. I have naturally curly hair and used to get the keratin treatment for years, it wasn't until the pandemic where I wanted to embrace my natural curly hair. The curly hair cut takes more time washing, conditioning, and going to the bowl. I just got a small trim and of course like any haircut, it's a change.
