No one does hair like the Dominicans. I just love the products they use. Half of the establishment is a salon and the other half is a barbershop. Nothing fancy just very basic but you'll get your hair hooked up. It will look and feel shiny and silky. With all the Yankees moving down to Georgia, this place gets very busy, but hey, I guess we know what we like. They accept walk-ins but I recommend making an appointment. My hair is healthy and growing like weeds. The cost of all the services I mentioned is great. You can't beat getting all of that done for only $25. They also do deep condition for only $5 more. When Sara cut my hair the 4th time it was styled, but had odd long pieces that I couldn't fit into anything. Not sure what that was). The last time she cut it very short even though I was clear I didn't want her to. This cut is not styled. Not to complain constantly, but if you buy a product from the salon the tip is calculated with the product included. This comes out to around an extra $20. I wanted to adjust it. Sara appeared angry, I'm a people pleaser, so I went along. Not sure if the other stylists do this. Sara does. Be careful. This is a real shame as the salon is part of my neighborhood. My angelpumpkin has turned over creative control of her own hair to Karen for years. They also sell several hair care products from Bumble & Bumble and Prive - these salon products are completely foreign to me as a barbershop patron but some of you may recognize them. I have learned not to arrive early but exactly on time because my hairstylist is not going to be ready whether it is because she is late arriving or the clients are late. I don't mind waiting 20 minutes past my appt. time but longer than that is inexcusable. Why would a hair stylist schedule to do a baylolage at the same time as a client who just wants to have a trim and blow out? Three times this happened to me with the last being on Saturday. After waiting 20 mins., another staff person washed my hair, which is pretty typical as the staff works together although, I don't usually have to wait 20 mins. as the staff tries to keep everyone on schedule. My stylist was reminded several times that I was waiting. 35 mins. after my scheduled appt. time, my stylist was still working on the baylolage client. I have never been disrespectful to my hairdresser and I always tip between 20 - 25 %. I know that more money is made by a hairdresser with hair dying, baylolage, etc. but at least the stylist could have the decency to schedule a baylolage at a different time. The stylist never has to spend more than 30 - 35 mins. on my hair so at 35 mins. after I arrived, I blew my own hair dry and walked out as I had to be somewhere else on my schedule. I have been going to this stylist for more than 1 1/2 years. Why treat a client this? I won't be returning, too much inconsistency.
