I visited the Salon Anabella on Saturday, 11/25, for a scheduled highlight appointment. On the day of my appointment, my regular stylist was off, and I was offered to have my hair done by the owner. Given I had already set aside the time slot, I went ahead with the alternative stylist, thinking it was the owner, so he should be equally good, if not better. I showed him a picture of the style and color I had chosen as inspo. To my great disappointment, the highlights did not turn out as I had envisioned. Additionally, he made me sit with the color for over 45 minutes to process, which over-processed and damaged my hair. I was not offered any beverages during the entirety of my service when the lady next to me was clearly offered a drink. I called back a few days later to have my hair toned and corrected; however, the owner who initially did my hair came in the line and talked rudely and said I did touch up in your hair and now can't do anything else about it. He did not even once offer to fix my hair or apologize. I'm incredibly disappointed with the service and the salon and would not recommend anyone to go there. I now have to pay another $200+ to go elsewhere to have this mess fixed. read more

After letting my roots grow out way too much I finally decided it's overdue to get my hair done. I decided on a whim one day and Carlos immediately got me. He listened to all of my concerns and took the time to get my hair exactly how I wanted it. He did just that and without damaging it. It actually seems more healthy now. Boutros did an amazing job with my hair. I hadn't gotten it done in so long so it was a mess- brassy, uneven tones, roots grown out. etc. He fixed me up so nicely with a full highlight and a haircut. I've never had my hair look so nice! No brassiness at all and a very nice, even haircut. Price was extremely reasonable as well, I will definitely be back. I wonder when they last had training sessions for their employees. Not only was my stylist's cutting techniques out of date but so was her knowledge on how to clean someone's hair (not with your nails please!) and protect ones hair before blow drying (she put styling gel on my hair before drying which made it rough and sticky, instead of a drying lotion or a serum). They should warn you before you come if your not over 40 and wanting two basic layers to your hair (the stalk and the mushroom top) then you won't like our stylist. Even the girl in the chair next to me and the one after her were ok with the awkward thinned long under layer with the poffy top layer that was textured while the hair was wet causing leaving behind some rough ends... The only reason I gave it a 2 was because the stylist are nice and have good intentions they just don't know what they are doing. read more

"We only have one stylist today" was sharply retorted with a strange look. This was said by one of the three people standing behind the front counter. There was not even an offer to make an appointment or anything. I was made to feel like I was not good enough to give them my business. I felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. I was surprised at some of the reviews of Salon Ana Bella. The staff is warm, friendly and accommodating (worked me in last minute). Without fail people ask me, "wow where did you get your hair done - it looks great - color is amazing." The staff are very upfront about what can and can't be done with your hair. Sometimes I ask for them to do services and they let me know HONESTLY whether it will work or not. As I understand it Aveda requires continuing education to be an Aveda Salon so I doubt the stylists are not up to date. Do not let old reviews deter you from going to Salon Ana Bella they do a great job. read more

I was supposed to get my hair cut today... I arrived on time for my first appointment at Salon Ana Bella, excited to relax and enjoy the little bit of pampering at the end of a long week, but a little nervous about trying somebody new... again. Upon arrival, I walked in to the empty reception area (nicely decorated and fully stocked with Aveda products) and stood at the counter waiting for the gentleman to break away from his apparently super important conversation with a vendor or travel agent or whomever. And waited... Finally a glance and half-hearted smile and wave. I verbally expressed that I was there for my appointment with my designated stylist and was rewarded with a nod and another little wave. Taking the hint, I walked over and sat down to wait for my stylist. Still waiting twenty minutes later with no acknowledgement of my presence whatsoever, I assumed they'd decided they didn't need new clients and left without apologizing for taking up space in their salon. ***UPDATE. It is now 2016 and my hair is STILL recovering from the worst hair experience I've ever had. There's still 2 inches of mushy mess from the stylist not knowing what she was doing. She over processed my hair. It has cost a lot of try and fix the damage she did. DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON!!! The owner could care less about having good people. the staff only cares about talking about drama to each other. I told the girl I have lupus and d my hair was fine. She put the wrong chemical on. Over processed it and then acted like she did nothing wrong. Still so upset over this awful girls mistake. I really hope she'd was fired and went back to school. Or picked a new profession. I first read the reviews and felt like this was going to be a good salon. The staff behavior is very odd. I love Aveda salons but this place was even worse then super cuts. I feel bad comparing it to super cuts too. The staff is so dull. Felt like they just got out of beauty school. I'm consistently trying to fix the mess. I know about hair styles and even how do to wigs. Iv had some pretty bad hair cuts, but this is the worst. The stylist even acted very uneasy about the style I requested. Iv had this hair style before. I had Brittney and I read she was very good, but I guess not with fun trendy hair styles. Iv been wearing wigs to cover up the mess. Im going to have to get it cut. It's the only way I can fix the mess. And then at check out she was very rude. I even gave her a $25 tip just so I could get out if there and stop being harassed. Highest iv ever paid anyone. I'm just a stupid nice person. I have lupus and I had longer hair. I wanted a pick me up new look because of the lupus my hair was getting so thin. I'm very easy going but maybe I was to kind to this stylist. I should have stuck with a wig or gone to another salon. If you want a quick trim, or touch up or the Dallas house wife look, this is your place. But if you want actually well trained, fun out going trendy staff look around. I have been coming to Salon Anna Bella for the last few months. I was looking for a stylist in McKinney and specifically an Aveda salon. I made an appointment with Brittany Nichole the first time and have been seeing her ever since - she is very talented in both cut and color. I brought her a picture of the color I wanted to achieve, and stressed how concerned I am over damaging my hair too much. She listened and I am loving the results!! The salon itself is small but comfortable and quaint really, all the staff are friendly and there's a nice neighborhood vibe. They have a good selection of Aveda products too and there is always someone asking if you need anything. Love my new salon home!! read more

If I could leave a negative star count I would. My hair color was ruined and I was robbed. I had a hair color that I loved. After years of trying to find the right shade I fell on light golden brown. My only problem was that my roots were a shade lighter than the rest of my hair. So instead of trying to fix the issue at home I decided it would be best to seek expert service. I explicitly explained that all I wanted was for my roots, about 1/2 inch long, to match the rest of my hair color. I said over and over again that I did not want my over all color darkened at all. If anything I wanted it lighter but I wanted to stay away from highlighting my hair due to the damage. My colorist brought out a swatch that was the same color of my hair. I asked about the lighter shade but was told that that would be too light and wouldn't address the issue I had with my roots. I restated that I did not want my current shade to be any darker.I even brought in pictures so there would be no confusion. The end result was a medium to dark brown hair color with reddish roots. I was mortified. How could this happen after I explained over and over that I did not want to darken my hair. My colorist even commented prior to applying the color that she thought my current shade was good for my skin tone. When I complained the colorist was apologetic but tried ti skirt the blame at the same time, telling me that she couldn't do what I originally asked for. My question was why didn't she tell me that and allow me to make an informed decision. She then asked the manager to speak with me. My options were to either leave it dark or get highlights to lift the color out. At this point I was almost in tears, I was trying to protect my hair from damage. I opted for the highlights because I hated the color. My color was not restored to original light brown, instead I had dark brown with reddish highlights. When I went to leave I was asked to pay $125 and was told that I was getting a "deal" At this point I had been there for 3.5 hours with ruined color plus added damage and I was being treated like they did me a favor. When I asked about the cost and expressed that I thought it was too high and that I was still leaving with the opposite of what I asked for I was threatened by the owner that the police would be called if I did not pay at least $100. He kept saying he was giving me a deal and providing a service. read more
