Great salon and service!! Love my hair color and cuts. Beautiful location and views too!

This review does not apply do the entire salon. BUYER BEWARE!! I needed a color correction and full set of highlights. My first appointment was beyond 4+ hours and was charged $600 for a color correction I almost passed out!! I was told to make another appointment #2 The hairdresser covered my roots only explaining she does not do the roots and highlights together and I paid $230. It forced me to make another follow up hoping to get a full set of highlights and be done!! Appointment # 3 she covered my roots and trimmed my hair and charged me $230. The hairdresser again said that she doesn't have time due to another client coming in after me. During the 4th appointment she decides to tell me the OPPOSITE of what she originally told on my first day that she does her highlights and roots together then covered my roots again and added a few highlights to frame along my face only and was charged $230.( mind you she gets a 20% tip each time and originally asked for a full set of highlights). Appointment #4 I asked nicely to please finish the highlights and was told she could do a partial highlights and was told once more she did not have time to do all highlights then was and charged me another $230. I was aghast when I looked at the total money spent over 4 appointments scame to $1290!! I almost passed out again! I wanted my highlights completed. $1290 dollars later and my hair only had a partial highlights . I set up a 5th appointment then cancelled it deciding never to go back!! I am appalled that this happened And pray this does NOT happen to someone else! This is supposed to be well established Salon with a very good reputation. I loved this salon. I called them on saturday and wanted to get hair done the same day. They had someone available right away. I wasnt thrilled at first just because the fact that they accepted the same day appointment.. felt like she wasnt going to do great. I walked into the salon, nobody was at the front desk. One of stylists saw me walking in and greeted me. Then receptionist came and walked me to the stylist. Anne (stylist who did my hair) was friendly and very nice. She was interacting with me and did great job. She did ombre and highlights and it came out so great. One thing I did not like about Anne was she washed my hair too tough. . Lol I was expecting nice head massage... haha :-p The owner Trishy was working next station and she was also very friendly and nice to each customer. She was talkative. The view from the salon was beautiful too. It was a sunny day and looking over the water and getting hair done was pretty cool.. Their facility wasnt very impressive but it was neat and clean. They have a parking lot all around the building and it wasnt very easy to find the place.. just becuase its on second floor and there isnt any sign for the salon but receptionist was very nice and navigated me well. The price was little bit higher than other salons I have been to (Aveda- sam jones) but I was very satisfied with the service I got. I would go back there to get hair done again. read more

I walked out of salon Aquatica after the owner Trish cut it with the most stunning haircut I've ever had in my life, it's exactly what I wanted and she has the hands of an angel. Don't waste your time here, OR THEY WILL. After navigating that horrible parking lot and running up the stairs in time for my appointment, I was not greeted by either of the two snooty girls up front. I explained I was there for my appt and my name, but it wasn't until 18 minutes later as I was up walking out the door my stylist finally came to greet me. She was clearly in the middle of another client's color job. No, I do not want my cut to be squeezed in while you're with another client. Especially not for those prices! Just the worst. They told me that they were an aveda salon so I gave them my formula and the owner said she duplicated it. It didn't looks the same as my usual aveda color. I was suspicious when my regular stylist in CT saw my hair and had to do major damage control to the color and the ends. Trish the owner displayed a few aveda bottles and i asked her if they had aveda color and she said I will duplicate your color with the same formula you gave me. That did not happen. It's like a puppy mill in there. Not professional and very disappointing that they would lie to a clients face. They are not listed with Aveda so the owner did lie. read more

Trish has been styling and coloring my hair for the past decade. She is creative and very professional. People compliment me everyday about my hair style and highlights. She is available and always shows up for my appointments. It is a rarity that you can find a hair stylist that can cut and color hair and be right on the mark every time. Called looking for a haircut and color for that same day. It was after noon already and I was surprised at how above and beyond they went to get me in that day. Upon arriving I was greeted by friendly, knowledgeable people. Due to a cancellation, I ended up with Trish as my stylist who I later found out was the owner. She was absolutely amazing, going over my color and cut with me thoroughly before starting. When I was all finished my hair looked beautiful. It honestly turned out even better than I had hoped. I think my haircut is pretty simple. I'm a man - I want it short, and I cut it every four weeks. After suffering through some hack jobs, searching for years to find someone as good as my childhood barber, I found Trish Brown (the owner of Salon Aquatica), who at the time was a stylist at a salon in The Gardens mall. That was 1999, and Trish has been cutting my entire family's hair ever since, and will be as long as she's willing. I'm a guy, so I can't speak to color formulas, but I can say that she makes every effort to correct any customer's issues. I've seen this personally over the years, not so much with me, but for other customers. I work a varied schedule, and she always gets us in, always goes the extra mile, I always leave with a good haircut, and she hasn't raised her price in 10 years. That works for me. read more

I have been a client at Salon Aquatica for about 4 years and have had Amanda as my stylist for over 7 years. I love Salon Aquatica because it is clean and their services are fairly priced. The salon is contemporary and is set on the inter coastal waterway, but I have never felt that I had to walk into the Salon all "made up". The Staff is always pleasant, accommodating and willing to please. But, mostly, I value and just love my hair stylist Amanda. My hair is fine and can be very difficult to work with but Amanda always knows exactly what to do to fix me all up! When I get to the salon, Amanda will ask me "so what are we doing today?" I always reply "whatever you think." I trust her completely with my hair color and cut, and have always been extremely happy with the way my hair looks. Amanda is consistent and seems to know what I like when it comes to my hair. There are never any surprises. I am a loyal customer to Amanda, but in the past have had to use some of the salon's other stylists and they have been wonderful as well. read more
