However, my daughter went in for a prom appt last May and unfortunately and unbeknownst to me, we were given what seemed to be a new and inexperienced Male hairstylist. My daughter showed Sam an example of a half up and half down updo with some soft beach waves. Instead, she received an updo that lacked sheekness and elegance with tight curls. I honestly could have done a much better job and have in the past, but wanted to avoid the stress of doing her hair on such a special occasion. I honestly don't think that any person going to a special event such as the Prom or a Wedding should have to go through the horrific experience we went through on this day. This is my first time writing a negative review, but we were upset that the manager disregarded how upset we were and never received an apology from anyone. This was very upsetting. I understand that like any job it takes time and experience for a hairstylist to become very good. However, shame on them for allowing an inexperienced hairstylist to take on updos on such an important day as the Prom. The receptionist could have mentioned that perhaps he was new. I regret not taking a picture. I had to immediately redo her hair at home in a 30 minute window before pictures were taken. I am not one to post something so negative or hurtful , but I want to save future girls from experiencing what we experienced.

I moved to NYC a few years ago and still drive the 3.5 hours to Shrewsbury at least once a year to get my hair cut and colored by Katie. Her balayage technique makes my hair look amazing and it grows out perfectly so I can usually make it the full year before coming back for my next visit. (even hairdressers in Brooklyn when I've needed a trim have commented on how nice the color is) The vibes are impeccable and after watching her team work with other clients in such thoughtful ways I'd also trust any one of them to do my hair if Katie was ever unavailable. Backstory: I am local, and I have been a customer of this salon, on and off, for about 15 years.  Over the years, I have been a client of two very good stylists: Jackie and Heather (who were not involved with the interaction below). Issue: Bait-and-switch on kids haircuts--when scheduling I was quoted a max of $35; however, I was charged $60 plus (per haircut) at closeout for a number of kids haircuts.  Thick hair was the reasoning.  If the salon's website had a disclaimer that this was a policy, or a verbal beforehand about the pricing differentials, we'd have a non issue (that said, I would have gone elsewhere).  As I mentioned above, it's the last minute bait-and-switch, and then being completely ignored by the owners to discuss my displeasure with the experience.   Bottom line: If you are someone who makes an effort to support local businesses, I would think twice about this establishment.  I feel like I was treated like a disposable suburban customer--which clearly was the case. Look around, there are plenty of other hair salons in the area that would be grateful to have your business.

She was firm yet gentle and applied just the right amount of pressure. Anna's technique is what I am EXACTLY looking for in a massage therapist! I love deep tissue work in general, but she does some sort of very precise and deep finger movements and pressure points. It's very focused on very particular muscles and nice and deep but in a wonderful way! It felt SO GOOD during and after!!
