I needed a haircut badly! Since I was in Vegas, I figured, why not find a hairstylist here and get my hair done? Most salons I looked at required an appointment, including Salon Chandelier. Luckily, they were able to squeeze me in on a Monday at 1 PM. And lucky me, I was scheduled with Tomo! Tomo was very polite, patient, and listened to what I wanted. She took her time with me, and at the end, she even taught me how to style my hair in just 5 minutes, which I absolutely loved and needed! I tried to convince her to move to Arizona so all my friends and I wouldn't have to go all the way to Vegas just to see her. Sorry, Arizona friends, she's not planning to move anytime soon! And I don't mind having an excuse to go to Vegas often. So now I have a new plan: every time I'm in Vegas, I'm going to see Tomo for my haircut! This was the best hair experience I have ever had in the US as I tend to avoid getting my hair done in the US and prefer to wait til I go back to China to get my hair done. 11/10 recommend! First, the boring stuff: Salon is clean and parking is easy. And you simply cannot beat this price! Now, the fun stuff: My hairstylist Hikaroo was so detailed, friendly, and professional. He used so much care in coloring my hair, and making sure I was comfortable (I have a sensitive scalp). Their services menu also included a beverage menu that included OJ, green tea, and calpico (iykyk)! Hikaroo also showed me a menu of different types of shampoo and conditioner and asked me what I prefer to make sure the products he used would be fitting for my hair and scalp. The salon also offers free scalp and shoulder/neck massage and free styling. And as someone who has sensitive scalp that always itches like crazy when I get my hair dyed, my scalp barely itched today! Anyways, 11/10 recommend! Tomo is the bomb! She is super polite , very friendly and extremely detail-oriented. When I dye my hair in the past, I have to literally tell the stylists to clean up the dye and I am unsure why I need to tell them that - it is part of the process where they have to think about their clients the moment they walk out of the shop. Not Tomo. She took her time to clean up after the dye and she really knows what she is talking about in terms of dying process and how she can help me achieve the look by just looking at my sample photos. The shop is very clean and the atmostphere is very cozy. The stylists working there are very professional and everyone really knows what they talk about when they give you advice on how you should cut your hair and I encourage you to also bring in photos of the style you like and they can talk to you through many ideas how a style can look better on you. Master at his craft, Shin is talented and precise with his scissor skills. What to expect- He'll look at your hair, suggest the cut that suits the shape of your face and you'll both agree to the cut. Next he will hand you a sheet that shows you different types of shampoos and conditioners- you pick one and he'll use it to wash your hair. Now this is the best part, a head massage. It's so relaxing! Then he'll get into cutting your hair meticulously and will double check it after drying it. If you wish, he will style it at the end. My visits with him were for a haircut & each time he listened to my request. I've always trusted his advice with the length & layers. I've been neglecting my hair and had not cut it for 12+ months. So knowing that I was going to be in LV, I turned to Yelp and managed to snag an appointment at Salon Chandelier. I found out later that they are normally booked two months in advance, I was super lucky. The salon is small, bright, and cheery. It's is located in a little shopping center, so parking is not a problem. My stylist, Charlie, was extremely friendly and listened to what I wanted. During the wash process, he massaged my scalp and after blot drying it, gave me a short neck and shoulder massage. I kinda fell asleep, it was such a treat. I asked him about coloring my hair and he patiently and clearly explained why I should color and not highlight my hair to cover the greys. For only $45, I got a wash, massage, cut, blow dry and style. And he told me about Izakaya Go, where we had a fabulous dinner. I wish Charlie would move to Hawaii! Met Charlie the great hair dresser! He did my balayage, trusted him to do it right and not only he did it right, he did it without harming my hair and scalp. After my balayage, I expected my hair to be dry and brittle due to the stripping process of bleach but for some reason, Charlie's process didn't do that to my hair. Hands down best in town. They absolutely don't rush you, they take their time with you. Make sure it's exactly what you want. If you ask for advice, they're very knowledgeable. They completely customize your experience. Even down to choosing your shampoo and conditioner. They also offer a variety of drinks and japanese candies. I will say that the waiting list can be some time but if you make your appointment in advance, then why worry haha. They always text me before my appointment just to remind me. I am in love. Nowhere have I felt so taken care of as I have in this salon, hair-wise. The interior of this salon is classy and clean without seeming sterile or intimidating. In fact, the staff in this salon do a fabulous job at making their customers feel welcomed as soon as they step in the door, even if they are still working on another customer's hair. My hair stylist, Shin, was the most attentive and considerate stylist I have had in a long time. He looked carefully at the picture I showed him and told me exactly which parts of my hair would be cut, which parts would be layered, and how it would look different from the picture. He also told me the price for my haircut upfront, which a lot of hair salons do not do. About half of the cut is done with the hair in a wet state; the rest is done when it is dry. While Shin was cutting my hair, he would occasionally check in with me to see if I was still ok with the length of my hair. In the end, my hair looked exactly the way I had wanted it to. For the price of $40, I ended up with a beautiful women's haircut including shampoo and styling. Another thing that impressed me is that Shin made sure to finish up curling my hair even when his next appointment had arrived. It's nice to find a hair salon that cares more about their customers than their money. Overall, caring customer service, elaborate consultation, great technique, and stunning results.
