I've been going to Salon Cheveux on Laguna Blvd for a while now, and it's one of those places that immediately feels calm the second you walk in. It's tucked into a really quiet strip mall with plenty of parking, which already makes the whole experience feel easy and I won't lie, I love that Pets To Go is right there too, so I can turn it into a little two-for-one stop and feel extra productive that day. Ken and Kat are both amazing. Ken takes care of my mom, and Kat takes care of me and my very specific teen, which honestly says everything. She just gets it. Whether it's color or a cut, I can sit down, explain what I'm thinking, and know it's going to come out right. That kind of trust is not easy to find. One of my favorite parts though is the shampoo, which sounds small but it's not here. The back room is super quiet and relaxing, and Kat has the best head massage technique where you're sitting there thinking please don't stop yet. It turns into this whole moment instead of just part of the appointment, especially when you walk in a little stressed and walk out feeling reset. Everything is always clean, nothing feels rushed, and the whole space just has this calm energy that makes you actually enjoy being there, not just checking it off your list. I would give it 5 stars if the chairs were more comfortable. Helpful tip: Give yourself a little extra time and don't rush out. The shampoo and overall vibe here are part of what make this place so good. I had never been here before but had the BEST experience the other day! I made an appointment with Jordan to get a cut, color, deep conditioning. She cut my hair exactly the way I asked for. Usually you tell someone you want a trim and they take huge amounts off your length. She kept my length but my hair is so much healthier. She was able to get everything done in under two hours so she definitely knows her way around the salon. Okay but the BEST part was the shampoo/scalp massage! Oh my god I went in with a headache but left feeling on cloud 9! The shampoo room was decorated so cute and relaxing, I coulda taken a nap. Jordan was such a doll and so super friendly and gentle. Keepin' your hair game on point, every 6 weeks. Ken does a fabulous job. With most haircuts, I don't solely judge on my happiness, but the amount of compliments directly related to how well Ken does as well. It never fails, every time I get my hair done, I will get a compliment. Please do not misconstrue this for conceitedness, but rather just factual. From pixie short to lengthy luscious locks - Ken gets it right every time. Sometimes, he gives me new styles that are far before they get popular with the average population, which is fun. I literally sit in his chair and let him do his thang. Sometimes I'll throw in the occasional cut bangs, trim ends, or I want highlights - but for the most part he does what he does and does it DAMN WELL :) They play the best jams. I hate to post this on the salon page because the salon was great. This review is just for Khou that did my hair a couple weeks ago. I never leave bad reviews but I feel that I have no choice because she is not responding to me. I got my hair done 2 weeks ago after finding her on instagram. I provided her my hair and the picture of one of her previous clients that I liked. She gave me a price over text message and when getting to the salon it was much higher. She also added an extra bowl of bleach when I had gone up to the front to pay but this was fine and not my biggest concern except for the fact that I really didn't want that much bleach. I wanted to add brown dimensions and not so much blonde bleach. When I left I was really unhappy with the hair color. The picture I provided showed a slightly lightened dark hair with dimensions in it. I left with orange hair. I messaged her that night and sent her a side by side picture and she said she would have to remove the toner and put new toner in since it was an orange toner and that's not what I wanted. I scheduled an appointment when she was free but after feeling my hair after a shower I realized how damaged and over processed my hair was. I have breakage from the bleach which I have never had before. Usually when I bleach my hair it just feels a little dry. I told her I was worried about the damage and she told me she would cancel my appointment but didn't respond to anything else I had said in the message. A few days went by and after many of my friends told me the color was unacceptable I decided to stop worrying about the damage and go back to get what I paid for. A few of my friends and my sister also mentioned that she completely missed blending the bleach on the left side of my head. I messaged her and she didn't respond at all. I gave her 2 days and messaged her again if she got my message.. still nothing. It's very unprofessional for her to just not respond to me and in the messages I was nothing but nice to her. I'm very puzzled because she has been posting before and after pictures on her instagram but can't respond to her previous clients. I would not recommend her in an aspect- price, professionalism, or the actual job done on my hair. read more

Thank you Denise for such a great job on my lash curl. An eyelash curler normally doesn't work on my lashes and this does the trick, it's also so convenient to just add mascara and go. I've been getting a lash curl for about 2 years now but this was the first time I've come to Denise and I will be back. She used a keratin process and was able to curl all my lashes perfectly, I say this since my last lady would also crinkle the ends of my lashes. I tried Salon Cheveux last year in trying to find a good hairstylist in Elk Grove. I gave this place a shot and will have to say that I will not go back. Ken colored and cut my hair. Since summer was around the corner I asked for a lighter brown but my hair turned out really dark brown almost black. And with my haircut, it was sooo uneven. It was just like cutting my hair in front and sides to half. My hair was halfway down my back. So, imagine the front & sides was just cut straight. Very awkward looking. He didn't make it even blend together. I thought somebody else was going to finish my cut but he just moved on to another customer and one of people just started to dry my hair. I was ask a few times if I needed anything even from the owner. Reason for 4 stars because my hair color did not come out the way I wanted. I wanted an ashy gray balayage instead got a more metallic grey/brown. Turned out a lot darker than what I requested for so for that I would give a 3/5 all though I did appreciate my stylist for taking her time on my hair and answering any questions I had. I try to get a second appointment to get it corrected but was quoted an additional $65 so I did not return and will try to live with it. read more

I cleared my Saturday and made arrangements just for the appt. I understand how people who work in this industry don't appreciate their time being wasted so as a customer, I don't appreciate my time being wasted either. I get compliments and Ken gets new clients because I'm a walking advertisement for his great work.Our conversation while I was in his chair last Saturday, turned to HOW you get a great cut that you're happy with every time.I don't walk in and expect a great cut without my being an active partner in this event. As cool as he is, Ken can't read my mind and neither can your stylist. Ken and I talk about what I like and what I don't like. We discuss terminology--wispy vs. chunky--until we're on the same page.Ken has helped me understand the type of hair I have, what kind of cut does what I want it to do, and he's always willing to explore a custom cut so that I walk out of his salon thinking "this is the best cut I've ever had"! I always see Edith while I'm there for superior brown waxing. Kat did an amazing job! My first time here and I will definitely be back. I've lived in Elk Grove for almost 5 years now and have had a hard time finding a hairstylist that I want to return to. Kat was fun and friendly and obviously listened to me because she cut my hair exactly how I asked. I purchased certificates for Salon Cheveaux back June. What a huge disappointment this has turned out to be for me and my daughters. I was so amazed by this offer that I ended up buying 3 certificates for me and my two daughters, thinking that I could provide them with beauty services we could normally never be able to afford. This shop has a massage therapist and esthetician that call out sick all the time. Me and my daughters have been cancelled and rebooked multiple times and even cancelled without notice. I called to verify my appt for my facial for today and was told that the esthetician had just called in sick 10 minutes prior to my phone call. On a good note, the hair stylist, Monica who has worked there for number of years does excellent work!! But, as far as I can tell...all the other services offered there are very disappointing. I hope the owner realizes what he has done allowing the marketing company to sell so many certificates for a salon that could not handle the work load! $130 wasted read more

I had gone to this salon once for myself and really loved the haircut I received from Monica. So since the place I had been taking my 10-year-old son had closed, I decided to take him to Salon Cheveux. I made an appointment with Monique (Monica's daughter). My son has thicker hair than my curly mess and his is frizzy just like mine is. Monique did an excellent job cutting his hair to get it to lay flatter and less frizzier than anyone ever had. I love getting my hair done here. Kat is amazing. As someone who is both lazy and indecisive about my hair, I really appreciate how knowledgable Kat is. Every time I see her, I go with the same wishy washy requests that don't really mean anything ("maybe change it a little but only the bangs? And I like the color but maybe slightly different in some way I can't explain?" - I'm really quite awful) and she somehow does something I love every time, without fail. If you need a hair colorist/stylist that will not only make good on their promises to you, but exceed your expectations, I highly recommend Salon Cheveux. I've worked with other colorists who weren't able to achieve the results I wanted, but Ken completely blew me away. He was very clear with me on what steps I would need to achieve a lower maintenance heavy highlight versus a higher maintenance solid color, and I opted for the heavy highlight. He got the length, cut, and color exactly the way I wanted it! My hair turned out absolutely perfect! It was also fun chatting with him about Olaplex, chelating hair, Guy Tang, and Kim Vo ;). Ken, the owner of this salon, performed what he claimed to be the renowned Brazilian Blowout on my hair and lied to me multiple times when I asked him repeatedly if the treatment he was giving me was the actual Brazilian Blowout brand (Brazilian Blowout dot com). He told me he knew the owner of the line and had met him several times. I knew something wasn't right when he wasn't following the steps of the real BB treatment, which I had researched beforehand. My hair ended up being very damaged and the keratin treatment they used did not even work on my hair. I am a Caucasian with slightly naturally curly hair! When I called the salon a week later to discuss the matter, he had no time to talk to me and I had to call back a few times before another stylist, Monica, incompetently explained to me that "It's like going to a restaurant, ordering a Coke, and getting a Pepsi." This is fraudulent, and I hope they don't get away with it. I have never been treated so poorly in my entire life. The salon gave me what they deemed a "refund" of $29. I paid $120! I will never return to this salon, and I will definitely be telling all of my friends and family about their shady business practices and dishonest owner and employees. read more
